We're British, but our son is at HS in the US. Before we met Jackie, we were really struggling to understand his options, despite thinking we knew the UK system. His school does not offer APs and his GPA in freshman and sophomore years were not what he'd hoped for, so we really didn't fit into any of the ordinary "boxes" for US admission to top UK schools.

Jackie helped us identify what was realistic, helping our son to research possible schools and form a shortlist he was interested in. She then helped us plan a tour of possible schools and arranged meetings with the international admissions officers at his favourite schools. Those international officers all spoke highly of Jackie and their working relationships with her.

Jackie helped our son prepare his application, giving invaluable advice about what he should focus on to show the schools his best side. She followed up and liaised with the international admissions teams, and our son has offers from two of the best engineering schools in the UK, including his first choice school...a school we had not thought was a realistic option before we started working with Jackie. We could not be more thrilled.

Before finding Jackie, we had spoken with a couple of other firms who sell themselves as "experts" in placing US students, but they were really dismissive when they heard the particulars of my son's schooling, and learned he didn't fit into their usual boxes. Jackie was the exact opposite - she was enthusiastic and patient from the start and helped our son believe he could still go to a top tier school...something she has now helped make a reality! She was also very patient in encouraging this helicopter mum to step back and let my son take charge of his own future...painful at the time, but so good for reassuring us he's ready for that next step.

I was emotional and nervous upon my Zoom call with Jackie, but she was bright, energetic, and set my mind at ease. She heard my UK story and desires to return for my Masters and led me to universities near my desired city, opening doors I did not consider before. Jackie planned the MOST thoughtful tour of London universities. Each school gave us the warmest welcome and was generous with their time, knowledge, and resources. We met so many diverse students, staff, professors, etc, and the one thing they had in common was their passion for learning was contagious. I learned so much and can’t wait to share these experiences with my students because many of these unis would be great fits for them, providing unique opportunities that will help them flourish during and post college. I also appreciated that Jackie ensured we had time to experience London’s culture whether it was a tour of Royal Albert Hall, tea breaks during our visits, or time alone to explore. I recently had the pleasure of attending the HECA London college tour organized and led by Jackie Christopher, owner of The UK Study Expert. Leading a group of 40 independent college counselors is no small feat, but Jackie’s execution was flawless.
We visited four world-class institutions—King’s College (Strand Campus), Goldsmiths, Imperial College, and Royal Holloway—each of which pulled out all the stops to showcase their academic strengths. From the hospitality of High Tea at Imperial and King’s to a private guided tour of the Royal Albert Hall, the access provided was unparalleled.
Beyond the campuses, Jackie’s planning allowed us free time to truly soak in the local culture, from strolls along the Thames and Hyde Park to exploring Notting Hill and Windsor. Though I couldn't join the Scotland leg, I will be first in line for future UK Study Expert tours. If you are a counselor looking to expand your knowledge of UK higher education, Jackie is the gold standard.

As an educational consultant who regularly visits universities and works closely with students navigating the admissions process, I have participated in many campus visits over the years. After visiting many campuses over the years, this was honestly the first tour where I felt I truly gained a clear understanding of the character, teaching styles, and culture of different universities.
