They Act like a scammer
I would like to share my recent experience with a service provider called The CV Guy, as I believe transparency is important when it comes to professional services.
On January 21, I contacted them to prepare an ATS-friendly CV. They offered several packages, and I selected one priced at BDT 1,400, with a promised delivery time of 14 working days. I paid BDT 1,000 upfront, and the remaining BDT 400 was to be paid upon delivery. They then asked me to complete a Google form and submit my personal information along with my previous CV, which I did promptly.
However, after the initial 14 days passed, there was no communication from their side. When I followed up, they informed me that Fridays and Saturdays are counted as holidays and are excluded from the 14-day timeline—something that was never communicated to me beforehand.
After excluding those days, when the 14 working days were finally completed, I contacted them again and was told that my CV was already complete, but delivery was delayed due to the national election in Bangladesh. Now, even four days after the election, there has still been no update or delivery from their side.
This situation raises a simple question: does preparing a CV really take this long? And even if it does, shouldn't all timelines and conditions be clearly communicated at the beginning?
Unfortunately, my experience with this service has been very disappointing due to poor communication and delays. I hope they will improve their communication and service quality in the future.

1. Claim: We did not mention 14 working days (Friday and Saturday are closed)
As professionals, working days generally exclude weekends and government holidays. However, this was also clearly stated on the very first day of order placement in the Google Form you completed.

2. Claim: There was no communication from our side
We collected all necessary information through the Google Form, which included multiple questions you answered and submitted. When you messaged us regarding the resume update, we explained the full process again, including that the one-to-one session is scheduled on the 14th working day.

3. Government Election Vacation
There was an official government-declared holiday starting 11 February 2026 due to the national election, which affected operations nationwide and was publicly known.
4. Claim: No update even four days after the election
We had already sent your draft to the email address you provided on the 14th working day. When you informed us you had not received it, we resent it immediately.
5. Question: Does preparing a CV really take this long?
Yes, and the full timeline was transparently stated before purchase. The package was booked after agreeing to all terms and conditions. This question ideally should have been clarified before placing the order.
6. Claim: Timelines should be communicated clearly
They were clearly stated and can be verified through the screenshot provided above.
Regarding the accusation
Being labeled as a “scammer” is a serious allegation. After sending your draft, we did not receive any response from your side via email or text. In fact, the cost we paid our professional writer to prepare your draft exceeded the amount you paid us:

If the process felt unsatisfactory at any stage, you could have simply requested a 100% refund.
