Group of 10 for a birthday celebration

Food was ok-ish, did expect better quality given the price per meal.
Meals served earlier than others!
Meals forgotten!
Drinks forgotten!
Service was awful, then had the cheek to charge a £25 service fee!! (We did not pay it)
A tip should be optional, not dictated.
Unfortunately will not return and probably not recommend.

Just avoid and go elswhere

I sent an email to the restaurant which they failed to acknowledge after a week so thought I would just paste it here so others avoid this place. If the management can't even be bothered to acknowledge an email then why should the rest of the staff care about the place.

Good afternoon,

I dined at your restaurant yesterday lunchtime and felt quite disappointed by the food served. I didn't want to write an online review as I know how harmful these can be for a business.

The calamari start was very nice, but the main course left a lot to desire. My 2 children had the picnic and for £8 would have thought a 4 slices of cucumber, 2 pieces of fatty ham, 2 very small slices of bread and half a pack of crisps would have been priced far less.

2 people had the chicken and leek pie of which both only ate half of it and said it was just too salty to eat anymore.

The other 4 adults, myself included, had the roast beef. The meat was nice along with the potatoes and yorkshire, but the gravy had no taste to it whatsoever. and then a massive carrot on the plate. You used to do lovely vegetables on the side and gravy was amazing. I feel a lot has changed since i was last here and such a shame. Your restaurant always stood out as the one to go to when you wanted a roast but with all the above disappointments i wouldn't look to return. When looking around, half the restaurant was empty which never used to be the case when previously visiting.

I know when dining out you may not be able to please everyone, but felt it would be good feedback to look into.

Terrible meal, avoid

Terrible meal here. Everything tastes like it had come out of a packet from the freezer. Chicken burger and beef burger both disgusting. Would never come back.

Disappointing as we had a good meal here a few years ago.

Dinner for 4 on Wednesday 13 July

Dinner for 4 on Wednesday 13 July. Such a friendly pub. Excellent service and fabulous food. Served by Coralie who greeted us with a smile. She was extremely professional, attentive and happy.

Disappointing Sunday lunch

We'd booked a table for Sunday lunch. Having ordered our lunch, a waitress had to return to our table as our order had got mislaid. It did then arrive quite quickly and those who had chicken were quite happy with their meals. However, a couple of us had lamb. This had little flavour, the roast potatoes seemed to have been sitting around for a while as they were crisp. The menu also said the accompaniments were carrot batons, seasonal vegetables, yorkshire pudding and gravy.
I've always thought carrot batons were small, ours were more like carrots cut into quarters and very hard to cut, The seasonal vegetables - note the plural - was peas, which we all thought were tinned! There were no other vegetables, so about half a carrot and a small spoon of peas. One person was vegetarian so had the potato gratin, which had very little, if any cheese on it. That came with the same vegetables as the roast dinner. So effectively it was potato with roast potato. Having gone for Sunday lunch after a long walk, we were looking forward to a lovely meal. Sadly this didn't come up to expectation and we can't recommend The Bulls Head Inn.
