Efficient, professional, tailored and adapted support. First class service.

After finding out how long the waiting list was for ADHD medication, we explored private options and quickly contacted the ADHD Nurse who were swift in responding.

A meeting was set up within a week or two after I'd filled out the pre-requisite paperwork. I was greeted by a very understanding, compassionate and highly attuned lady called Sara.

After a series of bad experiences, I was sceptical of this entire process, but after my history was discussed we came to an agreement for medication. The medication wasn't working as intended initially so it was adjusted quickly and any time I was struggling or had any questions or queries - Sara was there immediately. I even got a response on a Saturday after sending a frustrated e-mail. This showed me that this isn't just a job for Sara, she's all-in with her patients and when she could see I was upset, she dropped her plans to make sure I was alright. I didn't expect that at all - it meant a lot.

For anyone wondering whether it's worth paying to go private - Do it. Especially if you're struggling. And as for Sara and the team? 5/5. Can't recommend them enough. Thanks again for all your help.

The ADHD Nurse

I was diagnosed with ADHD by Vicki in 2023, and it genuinely changed my life. Going into the assessment felt daunting, but from the very beginning I felt safe, listened to and taken seriously. The process was thorough and thoughtful, and I felt seen in a way I hadn’t before.

What really stands out is not just Vicki’s knowledge and expertise, but her calm, compassionate approach. She explains things clearly and without judgement, and I always felt able to ask questions or talk openly about my experiences. Nothing ever felt rushed.

I’ve since returned for medication titration, and the support has been just as consistent. It’s reassuring to be guided by someone who is both highly knowledgeable and deeply understanding. Decisions have always felt collaborative, and I’ve felt supported at every stage — from diagnosis to now.

As an adult, receiving an ADHD diagnosis can be emotional and overwhelming, but I’m incredibly grateful for the care, professionalism and reassurance I’ve received throughout. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Vicki to anyone seeking assessment or ongoing ADHD support.

Really great experience

Really great experience. Definitely the least stressful medical appointments I have attended! I always feel listened to and understood. Good communication with me and my GP which means my GP has been happy to continue my medication.

I am just at the start of my journey

I am just at the start of my journey. I followed Vicki for around a year before having the confidence to proceed with the assessment process. I just felt from day 1 that this was the right fit for me. I have felt genuinely heard and understood and cared for. No rushing, no judgment. I feel Vicki was able to put into words what I was struggling to describe and I feel reassured that whatever path I choose will be well informed and supported at each step. Thank you, wholeheartedly

After a lifetime of chaos…

After a lifetime of chaos, enormous highs and devastating lows, I felt I may have ADHD... I looked at the NHS and an online diagnosis, but decided to go with the team at the ADHD Nurse. It is a decision I'll never regret, a decision that will probably add years to my life. I had Alice see me through the steps. She listened and understood the lifetime of troubles the condition had led to. I felt heard, I felt understood. Approximately two months after the initial enquiry, I now have the correct medication. I feel calm, I feel confident about my future, and I most importantly feel me. Please don’t be scared of this process or the medication available if diagnosed. This honestly is an easy fix, a fix that I didn’t discover until my mid-40s, and a fix that will change my life. Thank you team, bottom of my heart thank you. James

Excellent team and very thorough - would recommend.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with my assessment and was quite nervous to start with. However, Alice was amazing and had a really calm and reassuring presence throughout the entire process. She was very respectful and gave so much time to listen to details and it felt like an extremely thorough process.

Thank you so much Alice & I’d definitely recommend to anyone looking for a private ADHD assessment.

A consistently supportive experience, year after year

I approached The ADHD Nurse a few years ago when my GP tried to refer me for ADHD assessment on the NHS locally in Gloucestershire, without success (my GP said at the time that she had never had a referral accepted for a woman before!). With no choice but to seek assessment privately, I was pleased to find The ADHD Nurse quickly through a web search online and was impressed by Vicki's qualifications and experience, her interest in supporting women and her transparent pricing. I was able to book an introductory phone call within just a couple of days and had a very reassuring conversation with Vicki, who I instantly warmed to as she is so understanding and compassionate. Vicki clearly explained what information needed to be collected by questionnaire from various people before the assessment appointment, which I was able to book a date for within just a few weeks. Vicki also explained what would happen at the assessment appointment both beforehand and at the start of the assessment itself, and was happy to answer any questions. The appointment didn't feel rushed; nor did will dwell on any particular aspect - there is a lot to cover! I was reassured that my assessment was robust given the degree of questioning and my diagnosis was presented to me at the end of the session, so there was no need to wait for answers. Vicki then guided me through the process of titrating the recommended medication and transferring to Shared Care with my GP for ongoing prescriptions, which I now pay for through a monthly NHS Prescription Pre-Payment certificate (much cheaper and more convenient). Guidance from The ADHD Nurse on navigating the Shared Care arrangements was so helpful as this was new to me. I have had several annual review sessions since my ADHD diagnosis and it is good to discuss how things are going and the latest insights or strategies that I'm finding helpful/not helpful for managing with ADHD. I just had an annual review and was able to split the cost over 2 months, which I was very grateful for. I was also recommended to try an additional 'top-up' dose of medication in the afternoons when I'm having a particularly busy or challenging day, and they will write to my GP for me so that this can be added to the repeat prescriptions available to me to ordere on the NHS app. Communication with the team by web form, email and phone has always resulted a prompt and helpful response; honestly couldn't be better.
I've never hesitated to recommend The ADHD Nurse to others, who have gone on to have similarly positive experiences all round. I've never written a Trustpilot review before either, but The ADHD Nurse is worth it. My life really is lived better because I approached them. If you're wondering where to turn in what is now a sea of private ADHD assessment options, your search will be over once you've contacted Vicki's team.

Fantastic practitioner

Received my assessment and diagnosis from Vicki in 2021 then titration in 2022 followed by shared care until the NHS could take over my reviews. Have since returned to her for advice and have recommended her to family members. I can’t praise Vicki and her team enough, the support and understanding I’ve received over the last 3-4 years has been incredible. Vicki is empathetic, reactive and committed to providing the best care for her patients.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience

I will forever highly recommend The ADHD Nurse. My assessment with Vicki was a great experience and I got all the answers I needed from it. The assessment being split into two 1.5h appointments was actually so helpful to not rush thoughts but also to make sure, in the first half of the assessment, that this was right right choice for me to be assessed for ADHD. It was a thorough, eye opening and a huge weight off my shoulders.
I cannot thank Vicki enough for making me feel comfortable and understanding me on a deep level.

ADHD Assessment recommendation

Deciding to take the step of going through the diagnostic assessment process for ADHD felt like a really vulnerable moment for me. I can't thank Vicki enough for her empathetic and supportive approach. I felt in safe, professional hands and that I was listened to with care and sensitivity throughout the thorough assessment process.
When I had a query before my second appointment, I received a prompt helpful reply.
I feel very grateful that I had the opportunity to go through this process. It has already been so valuable to have this understanding of myself and thanks to Vicki it was an incredibly positive and validating experience.
