Poor customer service
The food is great, can’t fault it. However, I had two deliveries recently where the food had been delivered in a really bad condition; it had leaked everywhere and the packaging was all soggy and deformed. This was no fault of Prep Chef, it was the Royal Mail delivery. The communication with Prep Chef following this is what has influenced my negative review.
The first time I had food delivered in an unsatisfactory condition I emailed Prep Chef to let them know. No apology, apparently it mentions delivery issues in their terms & conditions and I should have read it. I sucked it up & ordered again, unfortunately the next delivery arrived in exactly the same condition, yet this time half of my order was missing. I emailed Prep Chef again; no apology, the courier was to blame & not them. A day later I received a card through the letter box from Royal Mail. The sender (Prep Chief) hadn’t paid the correct postage fee. So, I had only received half the meals I had paid for, they arrived in a terrible condition. The other half of my order (that I had paid for) was stuck at the delivery depot as Prep Chef hadn’t paid the correct postage fee. I was getting fed up at this stage so requested a refund. Still no apology, Prep Chef couldn’t admit they messed up and getting a refund took a lot of effort. They were very argumentative and only agreed a partial refund.
In a nut shell; Prep Chef are great until you encounter a problem. Their customer service is awful !
