New TeddyXPS

I purchased a TeddyXPS in December, just at the point that his improved power supplies were about to be ready. I doubted between adding a Naim XPS and the Teddy for my NDX2. After following some recommendations of some audio forums I went with the Teddy and this has been an excellent choise.
-tighter bass
-a bit more detail

It's subtle but noticable.
And that for 1/4 of the price in half the chassis size at 25% of the weight.
It doesn't need to be heavy to work well.

An absolute recommendation!!!!!!

Thinking of Teddy Pardo? Think again

I have an older Teddy Pardo XPS power supply and recently purchased a Naim audio streamer. Part of the reason for getting the new streamer was because the company’s website said they were compatible. After enjoying the new Naim streamer for a while, I decided to connect my old Teddy Pardo XPS to it. Just before doing so, however, I read on a separate website that the older Teddy Pardo power supplies are not compatible with Naim streamers. I then contacted Teddy Pardo and the rep confirmed they are not. Given there had been no name-change to the XPS--such as XPS-2--I told the rep that this should be stated on the website. He agreed and said he would update the website in this respect. To date, I cannot find any such disclaimer. This means that, like me, people may make a purchase from Teddy Pardo without being fully informed.

To the company’s credit, they offered me 30% off the price of the new power supply—about $450.00 CAD--if I traded the old one in, so I ordered it. I paid the full price of the new power supply with the agreement I would subsequently return the old one and get the trade-in refund once I was satisfied with the purchase. When I went to do this, however, I found out the shipping cost from Canada to Israel was as much as the refund. I informed the Teddy Pardo rep of this, and a week later he replied, agreeing to pay the shipping purchase on his end for a third of what I would pay in Canada. The cost would then be deducted from my refund. So far, so good. But that was on March 21st, five weeks ago. To date I’ve heard nothing from the rep despite sending him two subsequent e-mails.

This is the proverbial last straw that prompted this review. But here’s more:

-The company charged me for shipping the new streamer even though its website said shipping was free with purchases over $1500.00. This was stated on the same page that listed the Canadian price, so I assumed this was Canadian dollars. But when I asked the rep, he told me it was $1500.00 US. He did not respond or apologize when I pointed out the website misinformation.

-When I ordered the power supply, I asked for an approximate shipping time. The rep didn’t respond until I e-mailed him twice. He then said it was packaged and would be shipped in four days. That was January 3rd, but on the 8th, it still hadn’t been shipped. Suffice it to say, after two more e-mails and a phone call, they gave me a questionable excuse for the delay. It was finally shipped on the 15th.

To summarize, the company's website has incomplete information that can lead a consumer to inaccurate conclusions. They are very slow to respond to e-mails. I often had to make two or even three attempts to get a reply. In respect to my trade-in, however, it's been five weeks with no response, and it's clear they have not intention of following up, and I'm out several hundred dollars.

Something has happened to Teddy Pardo Audio. This is not the service I've received over the years.

And that makes me sad.
