An Absolutely Amazing Experience
We have just returned from Tanzania after completing the 7-day Machame Route on Kilimanjaro, and we are still in awe of what we experienced. It was truly the adventure of a lifetime: unforgettable, inspiring, and completely beyond anything we could have imagined.
A huge thank you to Tanzania Specialist for organising such a flawless trip from start to finish. Every detail was perfectly arranged, allowing us to focus entirely on the experience. While the breathtaking landscapes and the challenge of climbing Africa's highest peak exceeded our wildest expectations, what made this journey truly special were the incredible people we were privileged to spend seven days with.
To our extraordinary crew: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. A special mention to our guides, Joel and Sylvester, who were simply exceptional. From the very first day to the summit and back, they took incredible care of us. Their professionalism, experience, positivity, and constant encouragement made us feel completely safe and confident every step of the way. They seemed to know exactly what we needed before we even had to ask. Climbing Kilimanjaro is the toughest challenge we have ever undertaken, yet somehow they made it enjoyable, fun, and deeply rewarding.
A heartfelt thank you as well to Ali, our chef, whose meals were genuinely restaurant-quality despite being prepared on the mountain. We had our own Michelin-starred chef at 4,000 metres! Thank you also to Pareso, our wonderfully kind and attentive waiter, Alphonse, our brave summit porter (and excellent dancer), and Samuel, Julias, Baraka, William, Maulid, Edwin and Gasto, our porters whose strength, dedication, and constant smiles made this adventure possible. You are all our superheroes.
What impressed us most was the warmth, kindness, and care shown by every single member of the team. We always felt supported, encouraged, and looked after. We could not have asked for a better crew, and we honestly do not believe we could have reached the summit without them. We are leaving Tanzania with unforgettable memories and immense gratitude. In a few years, we hope to return with our daughters and do it all over again, and we want the exact same crew.
