Really helpful
Since I have started practicing English speaking on Talkpal, it really boosted my confidence unprecedentedly. It is a good app that should have been 10 years back because for a long time I was searching for such things where you can speak but you are not assigned on the mistakes in speaking whatever you are doing.

Chinese needs improvements
I want to learn chinese, the AI-conversation is not really useful: messages from the AI are shown only in chinese characters, so its cumbersome to look up unknown words, the vocabulary flashcards allow only full phrases, not individual words, the word recognition is rather poor, so there is no real conversation.

It is a simple yet efficient app for me. It encourages me to speak up, more than just passively repeat sentences.
One downside is there are few previous grammar explanations, given I'm studying a language (German) that is grammatically more complicated than English.

I thought I had cancelled within the trail period, but they still charged me for a two year subscription. I'm sure their arse is covered and I probably didn't check the cancellation properly. But it should have been way more transparent, I feel ripped off. Don't trust them.

Subscription renewed without any warning. I don't even have the app installed so I suspect i tried it on a free trial basis over a year ago, didn't find it useful and uninstalled it.

Talkpal is great for every level
use Talkpal every day to practice three different languages at three different levels: Arabic (beginner), Spanish (intermediate), and French (advanced). The app offers a great variety of activities, and it is constantly improving. Whenever I have submitted feedback about minor bugs or issues, the support team has fixed them incredibly fast. After comparing Talkpal to several other language apps on the market, I can safely say it is my absolute favorite. I highly recommend Talkpal!

I'm working through the B2 level
I'm working through the B2 level, and the chat part of the course is my favorite. Picking the topic, and having an in-depth conversation with replies containing useful, more advanced vocabulary has been really helpful.
After speaking, and receiving a response, I get a sense of how things are better expressed in German, as well as prompt corrections of grammatical errors. I'm very grateful that a native speaker recommended Talk Pal to me!

This is AI-based and therefore full of hallucinations and made-up phrases and words. As a native speaker of one of the languages it claims to teach 'for free', I was particularly appalled.
[Edited to add: The audacity! You want me to do slave work for you for free so I can improve your rubbish machine for free? How about you employ human beings instead? You know, since language is a *human* trait. AI is dead. There is no future for AI. The sooner you learn this lesson, the less money you'll lose.]
