He really understands what he teaches.

He really understands what he teaches.
Is able to teach it to others.
From simple "qi gong" to one of many more complicated forms that exercises all the body, mind, Earth and Heaven, spiritual. Need to eat bitter to get there, clearly he has.
He's also studied under other masters and integrated what they have taught him into his own practice.
Would recommend to any one looking to learn Chen Taijiquan + .

Great Classes

I have been coming to Darren’s Tai Chi classes for several years now and really enjoy all the different components of the class. Darren is an excellent teacher who is passionate about sharing his love of tai chi and supporting his students to get the best out of the classes.
We have covered a variety of different elements which have included the 18 movement form, Hun Yuang, Laojia, Sword and Qigong.
The classes are friendly and welcoming and I feel that I have made some good friends over the years I have been coming.
I have joint issues and was recommended tai chi by my physiotherapist and it has been the best decision I have made as it has really helped maintain my well-being.

Loving Tai Chi

I have been coming to these classes for almost a year, and this was after years of keeping an eye out for classes that ‘spoke’ to me.
Darren is a very good teacher. He explains theories that underpin what we do, which brings a depth of meaningfulness to each movement. He keeps classes varied by switching up activities to include different forms, qigong and neigong, meditation and newly the very beautiful sword form, which we are all very much enjoying. We also do energy work, which is my favourite.
Darren is patient, and particularly good at pitching to different levels within the class. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Wonderful teacher

I have been attending Tai Chi Classes with Red Lotus Tai Chi and Qigong now for almost two years. Darren is a very experienced practitioner and he endeavours to not only demonstrate the forms but to explain what the movements mean and shows ways for his students to deepen their own practice.

I have gone from attending one class per week to attending two plus his regular Saturday workshops. These classes help my flexibility and general health whilst also providing mindful movement.

Darren's teaching style allows his students to access tai chi where they are physically and over time improvements can be seen.

Classes include full warm ups, qigong energy work, learning various tai chi forms and ways to link the physical practice with the internal practice which make it such a great activity for those with busy minds.

Recently we have been learning a sword form which adds to the physicality of the class but is such a beautiful form to work on.

When the weather is good classes also take place outside which I feel adds an extra dimension to the class.
