I am no longer in burn-out!
I was in complete burnout when I saw the 50th ad from Ezra... I was paralyzed, doing nothing that needed done. I felt ashamed and broken and figured my business was destined for failure and bankruptcy. I joined the program as a last ditch effort to fix myself and save my business.
As soon as I joined the program and met with my co-hort, I realized I was not alone. I listened to story after story of misunderstood and burnt-out adhd business owners, and through the program's collaborative model, I saw hope and a path forward.
I did not have a firm understanding of how the program worked, or what I was supposed to do, but I was constantly impressed. I was assigned a coach, a cohort, and there were meetings of various types all week long.
There were modules with video lessons for each week. The lessons were great, and you could follow up with your coach, the owner, or any of the other coaches, and ask generic or specific questions about your business.
I got a lot out of this program. It was expensive, but so far, I don't regret taking that gamble! I was expecting to learn the usual tips and tricks for adhd brains to be "normal", but instead I learned how to recognize and prevent adhd burnout, how to prioritize tasks for my brain, and how to work with myself rather than against. Many tools were offered, some of them unlearning learned behaviors that I thought were simply adhd.
The reason I knocked a star off:
The scheduling of the meetings was restrictive.... My day job is teaching and I would not have been able to go to meetings if I had signed up during the school year. As it was summer, I was able to join a meeting at least 4 times each week.
Probably the coolest thing was seeing how different everyone in my cohort looked and spoke! Early days were tense and very negatively emotional. Lots of tears as people shared their concerns. Later days were relaxed and full of laughter and confidence.
You have to work hard. You have to talk to the coaches and be honest from the beginning, but right now, I am feeling like joining this program was one of the best moves I have made for myself and my future. Oh yeah, and my business.
