Syndi offered me an incentive to write…

Syndi offered me an incentive to write a positive review as part of their recruitment process. This is well documented and they had posted it on several sites.
I find this, and their attempts to have all reviews removed / their branding change / and removing their website during this time period to be very indicitive of their company.
After dealing with them, they appear to be a scam and i would not trust my money to a shady company like this.

I am also annoyed by the fact that trustpilot do not fact check their reviews, and just allow them to be reviewed.

Scamming people for Instagram followers and Trust pilot reviews
I was surprised and disappointed by this company’s hiring process. As part of applying for a job, candidates are instructed to follow the company on Instagram and leave a review on Trustpilot before even submitting a CV.

Requiring social media follows and directing applicants to a review platform during recruitment feels inappropriate and undermines the credibility of the reviews being collected. Trustpilot reviews should reflect genuine customer experiences, not be influenced by people who are effectively incentivised during a job application.

Regardless of the quality of the product or team, this approach raises concerns about transparency and ethics. I would encourage the company to rethink this process if they want their reviews, and employer brand to be taken seriously.

II

I would like to request that this review not be moderated or removed.

This feedback reflects a real interaction with the company, experienced by at least 24 applicants, all reporting the same issue independently. This was not a misunderstanding caused by “poor wording.” Following the company’s Instagram account and leaving a Trustpilot review was presented as a mandatory step, including a required field in the application form, which applicants could not bypass.
The company’s response shifts responsibility onto applicants rather than acknowledging the reality of the process. Applicants did not “believe” a review was required — it was required in order to proceed with the application.

While this review is not from a product user, it highlights conduct that directly affects the integrity of the Trustpilot platform itself, namely the solicitation of positive reviews during recruitment. Removing these reviews would suppress consistent, good-faith feedback from multiple individuals describing the same practice.
If the company is committed to transparency, the appropriate response would be to acknowledge the mistake, apologise, and move forward — not to seek moderation of reviews that accurately describe what occurred.

For these reasons, I believe this review meets the standard for honest, relevant feedback and should remain published.

Since you asked for a review for your job application, here it is. The LinkedIn page says:

Step 1) Visit and follow our Instagram account
Step 2) Review our trustpilot page (link)
Step 3) Submit your CV

When going through the necessary questions on LinkedIn, the page further asks you to choose yes or no from a drop-down menu whether you visited the Instagram page and followed them as well as yes or no to the question "Have you left us a positive review on (trustpilot link)?"

This was not a miswording, there was no miscommunication, there was no misunderstanding. Syndi clearly asked prospective applicants to leave a POSITIVE review before being able to apply for their job.

Syndi are review farming via their…

EDIT 17th Feb 2026: Syndi have now flagged this review as harmful and defamation. It isn't defamation when I have proof via your LinkedIn page, trying to gain personal information via asking for followers on instagram and to positively r*view your "company" on this platform.

Syndi are asking potential candidates to r*view their page via their LinkedIn hiring page.
It says:
Steps to apply:
Visit and follow our Instagram account
Review our Trustpilot page
Submit CV

Never in my career history did I have to write a r*view for a company to apply for a job. I can see in the replies that Syndi are doubling down and saying it’s misworded; however, it clearly states the steps to apply for a job with your company.

Thanks for your feedback. This review relates to a recruitment interaction rather than a genuine customer experience with the Syndi platform. During a short hiring campaign, part of our application wording was poorly framed, which led some applicants to believe a review was required. That has since been corrected.

I’m being forced to write this review to apply for a job with this company so here it is. Good luck idiots.

Also I’ll await the copy pasted response lying about the wording being framed wrong when it was as clear as day “How to apply … step 2) Review our trustpilot page…” then in the next step having a required question being “have you left us a positive review on trustpilot”

In addition to that, the companies reply about these reviews breaking the rules because it is not about the service or product, that means the positive reviews you’re begging for would also be against the rules you’re stating right? Because they also would not be about the service or product.

Service was terrible. Do not use this company. Their automated response is also a lie and they are reporting reviews even though we have proof of what was said, search it online and you’ll find out. Beware and stay away

Asking people to leave postive review before applying for the job. This is way to fill fake non genuine postive reviews. It’s very disappointing to hear to see this. They’re also copying my and pasting the same reply to everyone about it being mistake but it’s not and rather than owning up they resort to lying

Applicants Forced to Post Positive Reviews Before Applying

I am leaving this review to document what I experienced during this company’s hiring process. Their application literally instructed applicants to 1) follow their Instagram, 2) leave a positive Trustpilot review, and 3) submit a CV, and then required confirmation via checkboxes that steps 1 and 2 were completed before the application could be submitted. There is no way this was poorly framed; it is clear they thought they could get away with manipulating reviews. This is blatant review manipulation and undermines the credibility of this platform.

Given that this is a lottery-related company, this behavior is especially concerning and feels borderline illegal. A company that is not even live should not be manufacturing praise to create artificial credibility.

Many reviewers have already pointed this out, but the company has been replying to each critical review with a copy and paste message claiming misunderstandings. Instead of spinning, they should own the mistake and stop pretending they did not intend to manipulate applicants. Nothing changes the fact that applicants were instructed and forced to post positive reviews to even be considered for an application.

At minimum, this raises serious questions about transparency, ethics, and consumer trust. At most, this kind of coordinated review manipulation could constitute deceptive or even fraudulent conduct.

EDIT: The company is actively removing posts and reporting critical reviews (which they continue to try with mine), which further underscores the lack of transparency and attempts to silence legitimate concerns.

Hi Jamie,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We want to be very clear and transparent in our response.
During a short early hiring campaign, part of our application wording was incorrectly framed and created the impression that applicants were required to leave a Trustpilot review as part of the application process. That should never have happened, and we acknowledge that this was a mistake on our side.
We have immediately corrected the application flow, removed any such wording, and ensured that no applicant is now — or ever will be — asked to leave a review in order to apply for a role.
Syndi is an early-stage company and has not launched publicly yet, which is why these reviews relate to recruitment interactions rather than a live product experience. That context matters, but it does not change the fact that the wording should have been clearer, and we take responsibility for that.
We are not attempting to silence criticism. We have followed Trustpilot’s standard processes to flag reviews where appropriate and have also replied publicly so that anyone reading can see our position in full.
We appreciate the feedback, have learned from this, and have taken concrete steps to ensure higher standards of clarity and transparency going forward.

This is a scam

I found a job advert on linkedin asking for a review. The ad wasn't poorly worded, it specifically says you must post a review in order to apply for the job. I'm not sure why so here is my review!
