Signing up and integrating was a breeze

So, I'm just now starting with the free service. Joining and verifying email address was a breeze right along with integrating to my Shopify platform. I was surprised to see items similar to what I was looking for in my niche. Not for the big bucks, but for a good start and decent percentage. I have pushed 3 items to my store, now it's time for me to see how to set it in the store. I will come back with an update.

Worst Experience of My Life

I have never experienced anything like this before. I live in poverty, and this company scammed me out of $150+ CAD.

I subscribed under a clearly marked $1 USD/month for 3 months promotional offer in June. Despite this, I was charged the full amount after just one month.

When I questioned it, Syncee first acted like the promotion never existed. When I presented proof from their own customer service confirming it under another customer’s review, they shifted their story and claimed it had “expired.” Even if they changed the terms for new signups, that doesn’t allow them to retroactively and silently change an existing contract.

I also showed them a screenshot of my billing details listing the promotional period ending in August. Their response? Blame Shopify, claiming Shopify was “displaying the wrong date.” Yet they still refused to refund me.

Their “evidence” was nothing more than a generic help article marked “updated over a month ago.” That’s meaningless—my subscription also began over a month ago. A help doc does not override what I saw at checkout, nor does it replace actual billing records.

This was not just sloppy service—it was deliberate gaslighting and a cash grab. By far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a Shopify app.

At the time you subscribed, the 3-month 1 USD/month promotion was no longer active, and a 1-month promotional period was in place. Once a subscription begins, we never change or alter ongoing plans or promotions—customers always receive exactly what they subscribed for.

Please note that the billing and plan details shown within Syncee are always accurate and should be used as the source of truth for your subscription. You can review your plan and invoices at any time directly in Syncee. Unfortunately, there was a display issue within Shopify’s interface that incorrectly showed the promotion timeline. We have already requested Shopify to correct this on their end to avoid future confusion.

We completely understand how frustrating this situation must feel, especially when finances are tight. While we followed the terms of the active promotion at the time of your signup, we will continue working to ensure clearer communication and transparency for all users.

No warning before full charge

No warning before full charge – lost €87.57 without notice!

I started with Syncee’s 3-day free trial, followed by a promotional first month for $1, which was fine. However, after that month ended, I received no warning or reminder that the full subscription price was about to be charged.

To my surprise, I was automatically billed €87.57 for the next billing cycle without any notification. I hadn’t used any paid features beyond the initial testing phase and uninstalled the app as soon as I saw the charge.

I contacted Syncee support and explained the situation, but they refused to issue a refund — even though I never intended to continue with the paid plan and didn’t use the service.

This kind of billing practice is highly disappointing. At the very least, I expected an email reminder before such a significant charge. I strongly urge Syncee to improve communication and transparency around trial and promotional plans.

Be careful: if you forget the end date of your $1 promo month, you might be charged nearly €90 without warning.
