I’m really frustrated with my experience using Symphonic Distribution. I was scheduled to request my royalty payment today, and to my surprise, the amount was reduced from $49.99 to just $39. There was no clear explanation or breakdown of the deductions—this feels dishonest and unfair.
To make matters worse, I tried to access their website to contact support, but it was completely down (see attached screenshot with a 502 Bad Gateway error). This made the situation even more stressful, especially since I was relying on this payment.
As an independent artist, every dollar counts, and I trusted Symphonic to be transparent and reliable. Sadly, that trust has been broken. I hope they fix these issues soon and start treating their users with more respect and clarity.

I’ve seen a number of negative reviews…
I’ve seen a number of negative reviews about Symphonic, and while I respect everyone’s personal experience, I want to offer a different perspective based on my own journey.
Over the past five years, I’ve worked closely with Symphonic. I started as a small independent artist with almost no traction and have since grown into managing multiple labels that now generate millions of streams per month and tens of thousands of dollars in monthly royalties. Throughout that entire journey, I’ve never had a single negative experience with them.
In fact, quite the opposite. Recently, they paid out royalties that had previously been missed or miscalculated, without me even raising the issue. That was a pleasant surprise and showed me they actively audit accounts and ensure artists are paid fairly. After four years of working together, they were also willing to renegotiate our agreement, even though they had no obligation to do so. That kind of flexibility and long-term thinking says a lot about how they treat their partners, especially considering they brought me on when I was getting virtually no streams.
From an editorial standpoint, I’ve received solid DSP support through them, support I doubt I would have received on my own. However, I think it’s important to address a common misconception. Many artists believe that simply submitting marketing drivers guarantees editorial placements. That is not the case. You need a clear strategy, consistent and high-quality music, strong branding, and a real plan. Symphonic can help create opportunities, but it is still up to you to capitalize on them.
I also see people claiming their music was removed wrongfully or without explanation. But the question needs to be asked: was there any involvement in stream manipulation or fraudulent activity? If so, then removal should not come as a surprise. DSPs are becoming stricter about artificial streaming, and Symphonic, as a professional and preferred distributor to DSP's, they must comply with their standards to protect its relationships with platforms.
Across more than 100 million streams in my catalog, I have inevitably encountered some artificial activity from fake playlists and automated systems that funnel artists into fraudulent ecosystems. You would think that with this volume, I might have been flagged or warned, but I haven’t, not even a notification on a Spotify for Artists dashboard, because the vast majority if not 99% of my streams are legitimate. That is why I find it interesting when people are shocked by takedowns. If your streams are clean, there is usually nothing to worry about. Symphonic even shows you a monthly report of what songs are being artificially streamed, on which platform and even the percentage of those streams that being artificial for the month. And while this is frustrating and I wish it would stop, it's best to be honest about your streams and how you get them to totally avoid any issues with platforms.
In my experience, Symphonic has been professional, transparent, and genuinely supportive. No company is perfect, but if you are serious about building a long-term career and approach your work strategically and honestly, I believe they can be a great partner.

Shoutout to Content Manager Perri Waguespack for making my transition from another distributor completely seamless. He went above and beyond to get my content released from WB so it could be added to Beatport.
So far, the company has been quick and responsive with customer service. As an artist who produces hip hop and EDM, I’ve found this to be one of the best options for getting house, techno, dance electronic music and similar genres onto Beatport.
Their catalog transfer system really sped up the migration process. I’m hoping they continue to improve and evolve their platform, but overall, they’ve offered great value and solid support . Highly recommended!

Smooth experience and fast support
Every time I need help, someone gets back to me super quickly when business days/hours come around. Most of their client offerings are cool, but some are useless at best and deceptive at worst. An example is Songtools. They auto-renew your purchase by default which is messed up. I don't want to hold that against Symphonic because everything else has been so great.

Symphonic is the worst distributor that I have ever seen , they have blocked my account for potential artificial streaming activity , if they consider that on their side with internal team (I respect fully this decision) , however they have blocked my account and don’t want even pay me any royalties associated with any other dsps , what I asked is that they pay me the royalties that they own me where they don’t suspect anything , I have sent a support ticket without success because they don t reply anymore !

I will put a 5* rating here and will not say anymore. I just jump into Symphonic fam 6 days ago and they are amazing.
I just take a look about 1* Review by Symphonic - they not deserved to get that. They do the best job for you.
About motherf*ckers buy stream/monthly listener on Spotify, Get ban by Symphonic. - They must to do it.
You cheats and you ask for money by illegal stream. Symphonic banned you is right.
I'm not protect Symphonic, but this is what i feel like i need to say.
Well. I know this is nomal but 6 day, mean it too long for a new track (new account) review to approved? I have no comment on this, but yea? Explaned me little bit?
I going to moving my whole TuneCore catalog into Symphonic ASAP.
