I want to share my experience to help others be more careful before drinking this vegan collagen.
I purchased two bottles in a row from a Holland & Barrett store, and unfortunately both were faulty. The liquid was brown in colour and tasted very bitter, which is not correct for this product. The proper collagen should be pinkish in colour, not brown.
This is especially important for older people, as some may assume that a brown colour is normal for this collagen – it is not.
I contacted customer service. The first bottle was replaced, but the replacement was also faulty. For the second bottle, I received a refund. Customer service handled it correctly, but the issue itself was concerning.
I don’t know whether this was due to:
incorrect storage in that particular shop, or
a faulty batch / production lot.
I want to be clear that when this collagen is in the correct condition, I am happy with it and do use it. This review is purely for health and safety awareness.
My advice:
Before drinking, always check the colour when you open the bottle.
✅ Correct: pinkish colour
❌ Incorrect: brown colour or very bitter taste
If it doesn’t look right, do not drink it.
