Visited SuperValu in Manorhamilton this evening! Girl on self service was extremely rude! Unfortunately didn’t get her name....brown hair and glasses and wearing a visor! My checkout kept saying ‘unexpected item in the bagging area...she was spraying at the time. Gave her a few minutes and said ‘excuse me....’ didn’t get to finish as she very rudely replied ‘ can you give me a minute, I’m
Coming’ Such a cross face. Pressed a few buttons And used her ‘permit’ etc and didn’t speak to me! I had asked politely and also work with the public. There’s no need for this rudeness.

Fake News!!!

Riordans SuperValu Fermoy are currently displaying an Official Covid-19 Public Health Advice notice on the main entrance door which "Face Coverings are Mandatory as per Covid 19 Regulations". This is blatantly untrue! No such edict has been issued by government. This is an attempt by Riordans SuperValu to dupe their customers into buying and wearing said masks, if instead they adopted a company policy of mandatory face coverings that would actually be commendable but might lose them some customers. I spoke to the manager on Friday last and explained my position and she agreed to remove this false information, but as of today Sunday the 26th it remains in place. I wonder if they ever heard of the boy who cried wolf! Plant the seed of doubt about the veracity of these absolutely vital signs in peoples minds and you risk undermining the work of the Public Health Advice Department!

Excellent delivery service

Excellent delivery service. When out of stock on items marked 'no substitution' the Greystones store has always phoned to advise and arrange alternatives if available; I can highly recommend Greystones SuperValu.

I will never order from SuperValu…

I will never order from SuperValu again. They delivered less than half our groceries. The driver said he'd forgotten half, said he'd be back in a half an hour. SIX DAYS later they still had not delivered the food we had paid for. I rang every day and was fobbed off again and again. I eventually got through to the Manager at SuperValu Killiney, he apologised and offered to deliver the food plus some extra's (not for free mind you). He then offered 10euro off. Turns out I didn't get the 10euro off, they did deliver again but we still didn't receive some items we paid for. Also, some items were crushed. The delivery driver, flung them in the door. VERY POOR service. They should not be offering people the delivery option if they cannot do it properly. Most people who order the delivery option are either cocooning or isolating so it's extremely irresponsible as they essentially left us without food, and unable to go to the shop.

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful. I ordered groceries for my elderly parents. They delivered rotten fruit and veg, burst milk bottle and broken eggs. Two complaints have been lodged with them and no reply. No apology, no refund.
Avoid them at all costs because they are uncaring, grasping and money grabbing people taking advantage of the most vulnerable in society at this difficult time.

Firstly I would give SuperValu no stars…

Firstly I would give SuperValu no stars rather than one.

Arising from the Coronavirus and being cocooned I looked to get a home delivery from SuperValu for the first time. Twomeys of Deansgrange to be specific. It was extremely difficult to find a delivery slot as no priority given by “corporate” SuperValu to the over 70s for home deliveries. I managed to get a slot luckily after some other customers cancellation.

It was my understanding from media advertising that customers over 65 obtained free delivery once ordered value was greater than €50.

The driver arrived two hours before the agreed delivery slot which whilst confined to home was not a problem but in normal circumstances would be.

I had allowed for substitutions in my order which turned out to be a big mistake. Special offer fresh hake 1kg €12 was substituted by
fresh cod at €20. That represents a 66% increase in costs. SuperValu own brand tinned tomatoes substituted at 400% increase and similar for capsicum peppers. The delivery person is supposed to show you the substitutions to confirm acceptance but went as soon as he dropped the delivery. I would have thought replacement discretion on equivalent items at near equivalent prices would be the normal discretion.

I tried to contact SuperValu via their chat line service during their open hours. I was not alone. It Started with over 20 conversation ahead and eventually got down to next in line. It stayed at 2 for the next 3 hrs until I closed the feature. Clearly ones advancement in the queue was waiting customers giving up.

I wrote to SuperValue’s customer services and received a totally shallow and unresearched and virtually meaningless response from Sarah one of their staff members. She mentioned that the free delivery for over 65s depended on which store one went to!

I will follow these matters up with SuperValu.

The morale is to assume nothing and check everything. Needless to say until the many points are sensibly answered by SuperValu I shall be shopping elsewhere.

SuperValu Palmerstown ( Moriarty Group ) Extremely Poor Customer Service Repeated On Several Occasions

SuperValu Palmerstown ( Moriarty Group ) Customer Service is non-existent! And a store Manager that meets your concerns with defensiveness, and tells you if your not happy with it to shop somewhere else!

I have shopped at SuperValu Palmerstown ( Moriarty Group ) since 1994 on and off, and have invested my custom with them considerably over this period and I am now unfortunately left with no choice but to exercise my legitimate right to leave a online review detailing my several bad experiences with this company.

Generally speaking I place my order over the telephone and have it delivered but, over the years mostly went into the store to do my own shopping. Unfortunately in recent years the customer service levels have reached exceptionally poor unacceptable standards that have been constantly repeated again even when reported to one of the Group's Director's who I will refer to as J.M.

I hold a QQI Level 6 in Managing People and qualified in several other areas with exceptional communications skills. Allow me to summarize my experiences from the outset particularly from 2017 to present as that's when I placed most of my orders via telephone in recent years. I'll get to the most recent incident shortly regarding the store Manager's attitude once I summarize how it got to this point in recent years.

Tuesday 31st January 2017 - Formal Complaint to the Moriarty Group to complain that every Monday when I try to phone in my order I get told " She's just gone on her break and will ring you back in 20 minutes " This goes on for several hours, regardless of when you call. I had to keep calling every couple of hours until eventually they took my order. The best part is after waiting hours on end for the Delivery they sent me up numerous wrong items that I did not request, and more expensive items to substitute for ones that were not available. Instead of using their own initiative and making a simple phone call to me and ask me if I wanted the items or not.

In response to my complaint I was contacted by the Director who I will refer to as J.M under GDPR. who assured me that my concerns would be addressed, he outlined the measures that would be taken to prevent issues from recurring, including a new sheet at the desk to make sure calls are logged with a time, name and number so that in cases that they can’t take a customer’s order straight away, it will be addressed in a timely and effective manner. He even informed me that if the service became bad again to let him know.

This theory was short lived, and after the first couple of weeks, it did not take long for the old bad habits of poor customer service to return.

Monday 3rd April 2017 - Time: 10:29am - I ring to place an order was told by a rude staff member "she's busy at the minute she'll ring you back in 5 minutes" . She did not ring back till 45 mins later, at which point I placed my order elsewhere

Monday 26th November 2018 - Formal Complaint Against Delivery Driver - When he arrived at Teatime in the evening I said we were waiting since this morning and he said "You'll wait your turn like everyone else"

Monday 13th April 2020 - Called the store spoke to B - The Store Manager who was worse then the staff themselves, told him I recently placed an order last Monday and the woman who took it was extremely rude, he then tells me the woman who took it was not trained to speak to customers and normally only deals with the suppliers and said "Sometimes she can be a little bit sharp". he said we must be doing something right if your shopping here since 1994, trying to be funny and smart instead of trying to resolve the issue, he was defensive and asked my why don't I shop at SuperValu Rowlagh instead. He began to praise the store saying that nobody else does what they do and delvers your shopping, as though he was doing me a heroic favour. Failing to place an emphasis on my poor experience or show regard for my loyal custom.
It goes on and on!

This is for Supervalu Axa insurance....DON'T DO IT!

This is for Supervalu Axa insurance.
It was easy to get car insurance with the above. One year later I received a reminder to renew and the price was hiked up!
I had already decided to get insured with another company but required my no claims bonus certificate.
I phoned supervalu..........no........they don't issue certificates.
I phoned Axa........no..........they don't have the facility to issue the certificate.
I phoned supervalu once again and they 'told me that I had already received it and would have to charge €15 to re-issue the certificate.......aaaaagh! I have not received it.
I was promised on Monday I would receive it in the post.
Thursday, no certificate (I have until the following Monday to get it to my new provider, who will accept an email copy).
I phone supervalu.....it's been posted And NO, they will not issue an email copy despite knowing my situation.
DON'T PUT YOURSELVES THROUGH IT............IT'S NOT WORTH IT IN THIS DAY AND AGE.

Supervalu Ireland use unsustainable…

Supervalu Ireland use unsustainable palm oil which is a major cause of deforestation and near extinction of organ utans. For more than 6 months I have being messaging them asking for an explanation of their policy on palm oil. Literally no reply. I think they hope I will go away. Not happening. Do not shop with a company that is still in the 19th century as far as the environment goes.

NB the name of the company is SUPERVALU not SUPERVALUE and the website is therefore supervalu.ie . Website and email address provided here are wrong.

SHOPPED IN TIPP TOWN SUPERVALU LAST…

SHOPPED IN TIPP TOWN SUPERVALU LAST XMAS 12 MONTHS, SPENT OVER 300 EUROS ON XMAS SHOPPING(FOR 1). WENT TO TILL AND TOLD FEMALE CASHIER I WANTED THEM DELIVERED.SHE FIRSTLY LOOKED AT ME AS IF I HAD ASKED HER TO GO TO THE MOON. THEN WHEN I ASKED HER TO GO TO STORE FOR BOXES FOR MY DELIVERY (IVE WORKED HERE B4 SO I KNEW THE RUN OF THINGS IN THIS STORE) SHE VANISHED TO THE STORE AND CAME BACK EMPTY HANDED.I ASKED HER WHERE WERE THE BOXES FOR THE GOODS ID BOUGHT. WE HAVE NONE WAS HER RESPONSE. HER COMPANION ON THE NEXT TILL TURNED TO ME AND SAID ILL GET YOU CRATES IN A MINUTE CARMELWHEN I FINISH SERVING THIS CUSTOMER. I TOLD HIM TO SERVE HIS CUSTOMERS AND TURNED TO THE CASHIER I WAS DEALING WITH AND TOLD HER CALL A MANAGER AS SHE WOULD HAVE TO PUT ALL THE STUFF BACK ON THE SHELVES SHE HAD CHECKED THRU. I HAVNT RETURNED SINCE NOR WOULD I EVER AGAIN TO BE TREATED IN SUCH AN APPALLING MANNER. WHAT THAT CASHIER SEEMED TO FORGET IS HER CUSTOMERS ARE THE ONES WHO PAY HER WAGES AND IF SHE CONTINUES TO TREAT THEM IN THIS MANNER WHO KNOWS HOW MANAGERS WILL REACT.IGNORANT RUDE STAFF.

Always double check your receipt…

Always double check your receipt because often the displayed deals are not given to you at the till. This happens very often in the Kilkenny loughboy store.

When there are deals on alcohol double check the prices elsewhere. Some wines appear to have had their selling price inflated simply to allow for a pseudo half-price promotion.

Smelly and disgusting fish!!

Smelly and disgusting fish!!! Today decided to pay a little extra to get something special for dinner for the entire family. Went for a sea-bass that turned out to be so smelly that was ignored even by my cat. Be aware – your health is not something they want to look after. Wanted to return but at the end of the day didn’t want to go over there again. This is Dodsborough / Lucan branch.

I like Supervalu

I like Supervalu, always good local stock available, very good bakery, butcher and deli section. Friendly staff, no self service checkouts which is great. The only downside I can think off is that when buying a multi pack you need to look at how much it is singularly as more often than not the multi pack works out more expensive which is bizarre to say the least.
