Learning and fun for all the family at The Marlborough College Summer School

Once again I attended my third year at the wonderful summer school here at Marlborough College that runs throughout July each year.

The Marlborough College Summer School
Is an institution that this year celebrated its 50th anniversary.

It is unique in so many ways.
The Marlborough Summer School has something for everyone.
Activities, workshops and courses for children, teenagers, parents and grandparents. Pick from over 50 subjects all age appropriate that you know you have always wanted to study or just learn more about for fun.
From Crafting to Cryptic crossword skills, from archery to learning the art of writing your very own murder mystery!
The children enjoy a great range of carefully supervised indoor and outdoor activities appropriate to their ages.
The catering is superb. Full meals and lighter lunches and suppers are available every day. A full programme of evening entertainment is also included

The Marlborough Summer School is undoubtedly the highlight of my year and the courses I have chosen have been fun and a great inspiration to me.
I look forward to attending again next year and hopefully many more years to come!

Best and Largest Summer School

This is an excellent summer school with literally dozens of courses on offer for both adults and children. The courses are various (art, music, history, literature, science, technology, lifestyle, sports, etc. etc.) You can stay at the college (it's boarding school accommodation not hotel accommodation). The food is first rate. It is not cheap but I have known people to save by camping locally and taking courses.

A great Abstract Art course No 29 with tutor Mike White. A most enjoyable and productive August 2022 week with great academic discovery and in-class collaboration. Mike’s course notes were very helpful and the days were well structured leading to absorbing work undertaken without a noticeable passing of time.

Excellent workout for the brain

I did a second philosophy course, and it was even better than the first. I know nothing about the subject, but my brain was given a really good workout.

Summer school wants you back….

We live in Marlborough and have attended Summer School since 2015 and really missed it in 2020 and 2021. Returning was a complete joy, but because there were not so many people at Summer School this year -obviously because of the fallout from two dreadful years of Covid - it seriously lacked atmosphere. Really. Please return to MCSS It will be dreadful for the College and for Marlborough to lose summer school in the future.

Thank you for your comments. We're sorry you feel like this, and are hoping that next year, we can all look forward to a more normal Summer School again when we're not faced with international travel disruption, Covid-19 and extreme heat.

Can't wait for next year!

Food, courses and entertainment were all terrific. Thoroughly enjoyable time had by all. So grateful that the kids were kept busy and were happily shattered after each day. Definitely coming back next year. Thank you!
