The Stripe agent understood our issue and suggested the best solution for us. We implemented the solution and were able to complete our transactions. The agent stayed constantly in contact with us to make sure we were in the right path.

While Stripe is widely used, their customer support is absolutely horrendous. As a small business, you will be passed from person to person. On numerous occasions, it will take them months (not days or weeks) to respond, with multiple follow ups on our end. We work with a number of vendors for our marketplace and Stripe is hands down the worst customer experience of any vendor. I highly recommend checking out any other position payment processor before going with Stripe.

We verified our account as a US‑based company and completed all requested onboarding steps. After that, Stripe asked for additional documents, which we promptly uploaded.
Once we finished integrating Stripe into our SaaS and went live, we were notified that our account would be blocked due to “risk.” When we asked what this risk was, Stripe did not provide any explanation.
It has been over a week since our first inquiry, and even after sending two follow‑up emails, we have received no response. This left our business in a very difficult position after investing time and resources into integration.
If Stripe identifies a risk, they should clearly communicate what it is and give businesses a chance to address it. The lack of transparency and support here was disappointing and disruptive.

"Take Now, Verify Later"
Stripe’s business model is a absolute joke. They have no problem letting you set up an account, link a bank, and process a payment so they can snatch their fee immediately. But the second it’s time to send your remaining earnings to your bank? Suddenly, it’s "Wait! We need your ID first!"If my bank account—which already requires its own rigorous security and identity checks—is good enough for them to take a fee from, why isn't it good enough for me to get paid? It is a backwards, predatory practice to withhold funds until you’re forced to hand over sensitive data after the transaction is done.To top it off, their system is rigged. Their own policy says you can’t shut down an account with a balance, yet as a test when I told their agent to close it, they sent in the request right away ,how efficient. So you effectively are stealing the remaining funds. It doesn’t matter if it’s $1.45 or $1,400; it’s the principle of a multi-billion dollar company pocketing user money through calculated "technicalities."Stay away unless you enjoy being held hostage for your own earnings.✌️💅 Absolute bottom-tier ethics. @StripeSupport

Very poor payment experience.
During checkout, I was redirected to a payment provider and my banking app opened instantly with a payment ready to approve — WITHOUT CLEARLY SHOWING OR ALLOWING ME TO CHOOSE THE PAYMENT METHOD.
There was NO PROPER STEP to review or select how I wanted to pay. The whole process felt RUSHED and LACKED TRANSPARENCY.
Financial transactions should ALWAYS give users CLEAR CONTROL and FULL VISIBILITY. This did NOT.

A horrible experience that is difficult to comprehend is even possible in 2026. Stripe recently added a feature to include a backup email address, and the feature to change the main email is totally broken with ZERO way to get assistance. I just spent an hour of my life going round and round on the idiotic Stripe hampster wheel just to update an email address with no success and ZERO support. The world of big business seems to have gone totally insane.

I've cancelled my subscription and three day later I must have to cancelled again because Stripe still charged my bank account with that subscription. I asked for my money back but they refuse it.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
If you are thinking of starting a small business and using Stripe, THINK AGAIN.
Stripe will close your account with no warning and keep the money. No contact number and poor email response time. Criminal company, in shock how this can happen in this day and age.

Can’t really add anymore than what others have already stated. Terrible platform and to be honest you probably dodged a bullet by not having an account with them.
It’s hard enough for small businesses to get going especially on a small budget, when you have tied some of this budget into Stripe implementation then they go and change there mind, leaves you out of pocket straight from the go.
A lot of other companies out there, would take a wide birth from Stripe. There is a reason there reviews and score is low here

My business account was suddenly classified as “high risk” and closed after I had already received payments. While I understand that companies can make risk decisions, the way this was handled is extremely concerning.
The funds in my account are legitimate earnings from completed transactions. There were no disputes, no chargebacks, and no negative balance. Despite this, my payouts have been withheld for 120 days.
The main issue is the lack of transparency and timing:
Stripe allowed payments to be processed first
Only after receiving funds did they restrict the account
There was no clear upfront warning that this could happen
This creates a very unfair situation where businesses are allowed to accept payments but then lose access to their own funds.
Support responses have been slow and generic, with no clear explanation beyond “risk.” There is also no flexibility or willingness to review cases individually, even when there is no actual dispute or fraud involved.

This company does not respond to text/emails. They take money by charging credit/debit cards WITHOUT authorization. Run away from them. Run fast and far.

As I mentioned in my previous reviews, Stripe don't even replied to the reviews accordingly, all these reviews replies are WRONG, that proves once again that Stripe DO NOT READ, Stripe send automated bot replies on emails and Trustpilot reviews, embarrassing at this point.
Second, this is a formal demand for the immediate release of my funds to the merchant’s bank account. As of today, April 2, 2026, the 3 months holding period has officially expired. Stripe no longer has any contractual or legal basis to retain this capital. As we've been told by Stripe complaints team my payment should have been release to the merchants bank account on the 22 march 2026, the issue is that it didn't happen because Stripe lies and scam businesses and customers.
Deadline for Payout: Provide the exact date THIS WEEK that the merchant will receive the full payment in their bank account, no more excuses or delays, you DON'T have any right to hold my money.
Legal Action: My legal team already opened a case against Stripe. If you release my payment to the merchants bank account now as you promised, I will stop this legal case against you.
Reputational Impact: My daily updates and reviews to my 5 million+ followers and Trustpilot will continue and escalate. These will only be removed once the merchant confirms my full payment has cleared in their bank account.
Account Authorization: My email is formally linked to the merchant’s Stripe account; therefore, you are legally obligated to communicate with me regarding the status of my funds.
This was a cleared bank transfer with zero chargeback risk. Further withholding of these assets is a violation of financial regulatory standards.
Release my full payment to the merchant’s bank account immediately.
Regards.

UPDATE: I see, some accounts may became unsupportable, i.e when you block for no reason an account, take 1000 euros from them, refuse to refund the customer and decide to make the account unsupportable so they can not reach you to ask for their money. And no, we didn't get any instructions or clear answers in our email communication. The only thing was said that the money will be refunded in 5 days. It's more than a month and the payment wasn't refunded yet. And you know the order is already fulfilled and we basically lost 1000 euros because you refuse to release our money.
Original review:
Support is useless, they do not answer on emails, tickets are getting automatically closed with "solved" without any answers. It's more than a month without any solution and they are just ignoring all our support inquires. Also they are holding our money and refuse to refund or send the payout.

Since I could to speak to anyone or log into stripe. I made the customer call their credit card to claim a fraud. To get his money. Which he did. But now stripe change me 45.00 to the account. Which thank god I didn’t have any money in that account. And guess what, you are not getting that money either. Stripe is a greedy company. They do not care about small business. For everyone out there, stay away !!!
You will not get anywhere when they’re a problem. We all know there are problems.
You what, you are going to eat that 45.00
Never going to pay it

Do yourself a favor and do not use stripe. Their customer service is horrible, they randomly hold payments stating fraud concerns but can’t explain why. Do not recommend stripe. Can’t wait to clear what’s owed and cancel.

I don't remember the numbers to my previous debit card. Stripe would not let me update my payment method to my new debit card unless I know the numbers to my old debit card The only support I could reach out to was a Ai bot. Now I can't get paid. They didn't even present a option to remove the previous debit card.

I normally just send clients a PDF invoice, but the first time I tried it, they charged a 3% processing fee on a large sale. Absolute waste of $24, especially in this economy. Will never be using again. Useless service.
