Strel Swimming Adventure Holidays Reviews 

Just had a fantastic swim week in Turkey. It was very well organised but flexible, taking account of weather, guest preferences and abilities; although ability-wise, you would definitely get the most out of the trip if you are comfortable swimming at least 1-2 km in open water. The sea was gorgeously clear; not quite as much sea life as i would hope for, but beautiful in its rock formations and surrounding landscapes, with Borut and his team making sure of our safety at all times. We were well catered for (skippering skills and food alike) by our friendly Turkish Gulet hosts for our trips out to the swimming sites every day; and came back to a clean hotel ready to seek out the next restaurant for our tasty evening meal.

This was a dream swim holiday come true. The swim locations, hosts & swim guides were fantastic and kept everything calm & relaxed throughout. The town of Kas is a perfect starting point for the daily swim trips we did and I loved how every swim was so different yet just as beautiful as the one before. Our hosts on the boat cooked up a storm for us and the time in between swims and lunch to relax was priceless. This trip is a must for anybody who enjoys swimming good distances at your leisure under the excellent supervision of swim guides who keep an eye on you at all times. Can't wait to go back for more! Thank you Borut & Ilgin for making our trip a truly memorable one.

We have spent one swimming week with Burst Strel and his crew in the area of Kas, Turkey, and what a week it has been.
We were the whole week on a very spacious Turkish Gülen, never had so much comfort on a boat, super helpful crew.
But it is nothing compared on how the swimming was organised. An early swim at 8:00, for a distance that you set yourself. The fastest and bravest will swim longer, Burat arranges that we finished at the same time.
After a great breakfast, a good break, and after lunch , a second swim, again 40 minutes to 1 hour.
If you want to take a break, no issue, but if you want a challenging distance, you can go for it.
It attracts all kind of people, but we had very quickly a good group, thanks to the time spent together.

This was our first open water swimming vacation, and i would recommend anyone enjoying swimming to book vacations with Strel.

We did the Lycian way live aboard swimming cruise already the second time next to other Strel trips and were not disappointed. Borut and his team together with the crew made sure that it was another unforgettable experience. It feels like being with family or good friends and not like an organized trip. Swimming was as always stunning in clear turquoise waters with interesting sea life. We will definitely come back!

Amazing swims amongst caves, rock formation, sunken city and discovering underwater wonders; 5 days swimming in different beautiful spots. The boat crew (skipper and wife) were simply wonderful and cooked delicious on board meals at every meal !
Well-chosen accommodation, with kind and helpful staff, that really made it feel like a holiday.

Kas is a beautiful swimming area with islands to swim around and caves to peep into. The trip was fantastically well organised by Borut and his team and even though there were a couple of windy days he knew where we could swim safely in sheltered waters. The lunch on the day boat was delicious providing a relaxed opportunity to chat and enjoy the company of our hosts and fellow swimmers.

The turquoise clear blue waters near Kas are remarkable for swimming …but add to that the brilliant guiding from Borut and llgin, the magnificent gullet with Osman and Emet, the wonderful group of fellow swimmers and I have a week of amazing experiences and very happy memories.

My first swim week was an incredible experience in Kas Turkey w Strel: professional, well-organized and planned, safe, gorgeous coastal cruises with crystal clear waters, lovely gulet/boat, excellent captain and wife boat team with authentic delicious food (plenty of veggie options for vegetarians!). Borut's swim technique video assessment was beneficial (as a non-trained swimmer). And most of all it was FUN --- not a competitive vibe --- everyone laughed together, a real "pod" of friends! I am hooked!

I enjoyed a day on the boat and swimming in the turquoise, sparkling waters of Kas, Turkey. Borut and his team were remarkable! It was a beautiful day of swimming in private, quiet waters! The crew made us feel welcome and comfortable and it was fascinating to meet swimmers from around the world! Thank you!!

Bozburon is ideal for a swimming holiday - away from the tourists - beautiful scenery and lovely blue warm water. The boat was staffed by an excellent family who provided beautiful food with smiles and friendliness. The swimming guides were ideal offering lots of encouragement throughout and expert advice.

What can I say? Another fantastic Strel holiday on the gullet in Turkey. The best time was had by us all. We were well taken care of, great and safe swimming locations, super food and excellent company!
I would thoroughly recommend it.

The Ancient Lycia Swim & Sail trip was simply gorgeous - a great location, the surprisingly spacious gulet provided for a super relaxing time on board, delicious food. Add a wonderful group of swimmers, amazing guides and, of course, great swims! I will sure be back!

Our Swim Sail trip along the Turkish coast was amazing. We were really well looked after with safety being a priority. The crew on Baba Veli went over and above to make it memorable week. The food was so good and the swims fantastic.

I signed up for a Loreto trip in Mexico and had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Strel Swimming. Great service, very responsive customer service, precise instructions and itineraries. Very professional and highly trained swim guides, teamed up with knowledgeable locals. Very authentic travel experience combined with swimming in open waters. I would highly recommend traveling to Loreto with Strel Swimming. Unique and unforgettable experience organized is a location that has not been heavily commercialized. I am most certainly booking another swim trip with Strel Swimming. Very trustworthy company that delivers top quality service.

Hilarious response from company, as expected deflecting any responsibility, covering over facts:
'I cancelled first time' according to them, yes I did - because I was unwell with Covid-19 and it would have been ILLEGAL for me to travel.

Second time 'I cancelled holiday again' second time. How thoughtless of me to turn up to the airport and cancel my own flight on arrival.

Please accept my apologies for these thoughtless cancellations! I should've travelled with Covid or hijacked a plane!

Also here are the exact words in writing sent to me last year;

Hello Clare., next year 2023 is fine. Please let us know where do you want to join us once we have new schedules out. Croatia, Montenegro, or Turkey. Same arrangement as offered before that you arrange your accommodation and we offer a free swim trip. Enjoy your summer. Best regards, Borut.

I tried to contact company to arrange this 4-5 months ago - would you go on a swim holiday with a company who only offers to do anything once you've written bad reviews??

Strel swimming had a previous review removed from me due to promising me a holiday in the future.

I had to cancel previous trips booked, the first time due to having Covid-19, the second time due to flight being cancelled at the airport.

My main issue at the time was delayed communications. They reported they could not refund or carry over initially. It is difficult to get cover for holidays of this nature and for flight cancellations- a note for others- particularly flight cancellation - check your cover and know the risks.

Essentially I paid for a whole holiday which I never received. Which is not necessarily bad or good, it is their company policy.

They then said I could come on a holiday in 2023 minus accomodation. I messaged them a couple of months ago to ask about and have had no reply.

I'm just wrapping this whole situation up now with this review so that their lack of response to previous agreements is noted publicly.

I still love swimming and once I've saved the money again, plan to go with a different company like Swimtrek who have better policies around unforeseen circumstances and hopefully better customer service.

I wouldn't really want to go with this company now anyway as had quite stressful interactions and they would be in charge of my safety and enjoyment on a holiday.

I have screen shots and evidence of all these conversations.

The water and wildlife and exploration of the Loreto National Marine Park was a lifetime highlight. The Strel guides and boat captains provided a wonderful week of swimming,hospitality, delicious food and experiencing nature at its finest. A wonderful tour from a great tour company.

My first swim trip that exceeded all my expectations. Guides, support, planning, location, and fellow swimmers were all outstanding. I'm hooked on swim trips.

I had a fantastic time. This is my second Strel swimming trip, and both were well worth it.

This trip was a dream come true for me and didn’t disappoint!
Thank you Borut and crew!! It was such a blast, loved every minute of the trip. It was a wonderful group-enjoyed swimming with all! The 2 daily swims with all the sea life were phenomenal! I looked forward to our totally delish, authentic Mexican lunches made by Carlos and Manuel! The fresh guac was to die for 😋. We were energized for our 2nd swim afterwards 🏊🏻‍♀️.
The guides- Kate, Todd and Nancy really kept an eye out for us 😎.
Hotel was perfect and walking to town for dinners and Margaritas topped off the day!
