Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 307 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, frequently describing it as terrible, non-existent, and unhelpful. People often found it difficult to reach a live representative, experienced rude interactions, and felt that agents lacked knowledge or were unwilling to assist with issues. Reviewers also reported numerous problems with payment and service, including unexpected disconnections, issues with auto-payments not working, and incorrect billing. Many felt that their payments were not recorded properly, leading to service interruptions, and some even mentioned being charged for services they no longer needed or for plans that were changed without their permission. However, some customers also noted that the service itself worked fine and provided good reception in various locations. A few other people also felt that the service plans were affordable and, in some cases, found specific customer service agents to be very helpful, patient, and effective in resolving their issues.

I feel like you should be able to give…

I feel like you should be able to give some of these companies a zero star rating. I can't believe that I have been on the phone with straight talk at least 5 times trying to switch carriers they offered me a couple deals trying to get me to stay but eventually they did give me my transfer pin... Only to find out I cannot even use this carrier on this phone because straight talk requires you to have service on that phone for a year before you can switch carriers..... Are you serious the best way to get me to stay would have probably been to just tell me that unless your customer service is just that uneducated about their position. You guys are a joke and that definitely seems like a lawsuit able thing to me because you advertise no plan then lock the phone I payed for for a year. Dumbest thing I've seen yet and will definitely be looking into deceptive marketing lawsuit. I was just about to come back out of frustration that it was the other peoples fault as straight talk told me multiple times and was even going to bring someone with me. Boost mobile here we come cheaper better service and nicer phones anyway. I can definitely see a mass arbitration lawsuit in the making and Im in one now for something else best believe I'm telling them all about this! I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to I'm just glad I bought one of the cheaper phones. Best advice I can give anyone reading this pick someone else if or the cheapest phone you can deal with unless you plan on sticking around at least a year on that device. My phone broke definitely was a customer for a year and apparently the new phone restarts the whole process.

Straight Talk used to be awesome

Straight Talk used to be awesome. They used to have affordable, quality phones. I have purchased 2 phones this year and right as soon as I activate they give me problems. Constantly dropping calls, the screen acting on it's own, having to reboot everyday!! I have been a straight talk customer for over 12 years.. I WILL NOT buy another straight talk phone or be using their services any longer!!

Straight Talk does offer plans that are…

Straight Talk does offer plans that are efficient with a catch. After purchasing a $45.00 Silver Unlimited Plan I was not allowed to upgrade my phone unless I bought a brand new plan. Even though I currently have one in my reserve that I have not used yet. So basically the phone is not free you are actually paying for it. The customer service representatives will all tell you something different . You will be placed on hold for extended periods of time online and over the phone. One representative told me to contact them today and I will be able to get the free phone and use the plan in the reserve . Although each time I have chatted or talked to someone they are saying something totally different. This process has been a complete headache they even have gone so far to say that you cannot purchase the free phone through the app you have to go to the website. Although you can't bypass the payment option without making a payment. I found this out after trying several attempts. The bottom line is get better customer service agents that understand what you are saying and put in all information and not be misleading when it comes to these SO CALL FREE PHONES.

I picked up a Straight Talk phone to…

I picked up a Straight Talk phone to cover a couple of months while my contract phone is away for repair or replacement.
First month wasn't all that bad, it seemed to work as a phone service.
Then the fun started.
I got a text offering me $5 of my next months renewal, not a great deal but I figured I may as well take advantage of it.
Except the link I was sent didn't work, it didn't take me to a renewal option as it stated it would but just to the generic website.
But okay, I tried to log in. It kept telling me I was using the wrong password. (I wasn't).
So for the next 45 minutes I fought with it.
Multiple times I had it send me two step verification codes, confirmed my e-mail and phone number, again multiple times.
I finally changed my password, successfully I might add so the system is happy that I am who I say I am.
Then at the system prompt I attempted to log in with the new password only to be told again that i was using the wrong password.
The literal password that I literally just updated.
I gave up and drove to the store, so now they are wasting both my time and my money.
The store rep honestly admitted to me that the app hasn't worked for months and that everyone is aware of it.
So it's a complete waste of time for everyone.
I renewed for a month in-store but because I did I now couldn't use the $5 off I was offered.
Not a big deal financially but it gets under my skin on principle.
Bottom line is the system is totally dysfunctional and any offer is just a lying scam because due to that dysfunction you won't be able to ever claim it.
I'll let the month run out and with luck my contract phone will be back and I don't have to use these cowboys ever again.

I've had Straight Talk for more than a decade and it used to be worth it. Customer service has always been bots but for $45 a month I didn't mind because I had a working phone and internet. Verizon put a quick stop to that. I'm in the middle of the city and struggle to load YouTube videos. I'll be switching to Mint Mobile as soon as possible.

iby far the WORSE carrier we've ever had! if we had of known they were also run off Verizon towers we wouldn't have chosen this to beginning as it doesn't run good in our location anyways.
not only was the service itself terrible, so was the customer service. it took 4 reps and literally 7hours to get one phone transfered and fighting to keep the number though was told could one. from the time we got transfered from us cellular to straight talk all service was gone until we had to once again go to a different carrier than would actually help us. NEVER AGAIN

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. Between having to change my password every single time I have to pay my bill OR the garbage ai assistant that has me screaming into my phone and crying into my hands. Sketchy, Horrible customer service, horrible cell service, and I swear my plans price has changed like 3 times in the past year alone. I'd blame Verizon because they're also trash, but honestly, as someone who's has straight talk for years, it's always been this way.

Straight Talk explained in two words

Straight Talk explained in two words: Unprofessional Agents!

That being said, I've experienced on two different occasions unprofessional behavior from Straight Talks Customer Service Reps, one involving an agent hanging up on me mid sentence when I was trying explain that I had spent over $300.00 on a phone that I had not received two weeks after ordering. The second situation happened on May 14th, 2026 in which an agent told me my account qualifies for a free Samsung A16 phone that would replace the phone that was destroyed by no fault to anyone but myself. I, like many others, work directly from my phone and it is in the upmost importance to possess a working phone. I have missed 3 days of work due to this incident all to be told by another agent that the agent gave false information and that my account did NOT qualify for a free phone. Needless to say, I will not be a future customer of this company! Three Stars is pushing it!

Do yourself a favour, dont start or jump ship

Both me and my partner have switched to google fi from straight talk, i've had issues where their service would some how put me on the wrong network and i'd have to fight with customer service to fix it and it got so bad to the point i gave up and they begged me to stay by offering me 6 months 50% off service. The past 2 days fighting with customer service trying to get her service active again and they refused to fix the problem saying "you need to buy a new sim card" or "buy a new phone" and so i helped her buttheads with them and they said "sorry we don't support putting your sim into an upgraded unlocked phone" after they said there would be no issue AND had no issues for 6 months until 2 days ago. They kept bouncing between excuses nonstop so i told them to refund my $40 if they weren't going to fix the problem they tried to say it will take a minimum of 30 days so she closed her account with them and magically my money was back in the account instantly. Used that money to get her setup with google fi. Most god awful service ever since Verizon bought them where they take no accountability and try and scam you out of money idiots all of them. I never have and never will use Verizon for this reason, tmobile has and always will be superior

The worst of the worst....

Tech support is staffed with English challenged agents with so much background noise they can't be understood. Agents are unable or don't care to resolve the simplest problem. The automated phone system you have to navigate to get to a live person can't understand what you are saying. 5G Home Internet through Verizon is unreliable and too often drops to 4G LTE and the $100 gateway you have to buy is a piece of junk.
