Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 43 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers express significant dissatisfaction with the products received, frequently citing issues with counterfeit items, faulty goods, or products that do not match their descriptions. The website itself is often criticized for issues related to fraudulent transactions and scammers, with some users feeling that the platform does not adequately prevent such activities. Refund processes are a major point of contention, with many customers reporting difficulties in obtaining refunds, even for items that were faulty or never received, and feeling that their money-back guarantee is not honored. Customer service is consistently described as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to reach, with reviewers often encountering automated bots or agents who provide pre-written responses and fail to resolve issues. Some people were dissatisfied with the overall service, highlighting a lack of seller protection, high fees, and a general feeling that the platform no longer prioritizes its users.

This supplier havethat88 sent a video from the manufacturer on how to start this generator.(Completely useless as have been starting this generator prior).I asked for them to fix or find a person in our area that I could take this generator to, to see what was wrong . This eBay supplier havthat88 to this day has not contacted me, I have sent many emails with no reply.

Would give a zero if I could

Would give a zero if I could. I tried to make my first purchase and they permanently suspended my account for "activities that pose a risk". When asking them to elaborate, they refused to tell a reason or let me appeal the decision. I am glad they never got any of my money.

I bought a Disney Lego set from an eBay…

I bought a Disney Lego set from an eBay seller. I asked the seller first if it was authentic, he assured me that it was. So I purchased it. I then received an AliExpress Mainland CHINA tracking number. I reported this to eBay, but their agent didnt see anything wrong with the listing. I then chatted to Jaimini an eBay agent who was clueless, and suggested that I wait for the counterfeit Disney Lego and return it back to the seller:).....I explained to her that it was worthless, and that Australia Post doesnt allow posting counterfeits, but this went over her head. I waited for the weekend to be over, and phoned eBay on Tuesday only to get a Gladys with a broken English who was rude, and I didnt fully understand what she was saying, I asked her to speak to her supervisor, she hung up on me. I requested another csll back, and NOBODY bothered to call back. EBay must only have one agent on call at all times and their call centre is either located in India and/or in Thailand, so have fun conversing with their agents. I will give Amazon a try, why give away my money to a platform that disregards their loyal ( over 10 nyears) buyers.

Terrible shocking platform

I have been an Ebay customer for 15 years. It is shocking that now when they having so many competitors have only robots and no customer service. I bought an item and it was sent to another address. No number to call or email or anyhow contact them. Shocking. No resolution centre and Paypal no longer contracting with them meaning no refunds as robot will send you to the useless automatic Help Centre.

No sales, Copy pasted generic lies for replies

No sales! Ebay reps blame everything under the sun as the reason why when in fact they are just a complete bunch of liers! They want you to now "promote" items so in effect they can suck more from any profit you could hope to make! I sell more and get more ad clicks on Fb or gumtree and pay no fees! I suggest everyone leave ebay in droves as they have been getting away with ripping people off for way too long!

Extra charges from Australia Post.

I have been a long term buyer and seller on eBay. Of late, eBay have started adding random extra charges from Australia Post claiming a difference in size but with no proof at all. There is absolutely no recourse internally, you have to contact Australia Post even though your contract is via eBay.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. Ebay used to be my go to, but no more. Will never buy from Ebay again.
I have had too many issues with products and no help from Ebay to resolve. In on instance, seller advised no need to return damaged products that they will provide a replacement, no replacement came, so I requested a refund. Then seller gave me the runaround until I just give up. Kept saying they are having problems refunding. (Strange as they weren't having issues receiving payments from customers!) Nowhere to go for help from Ebay as I didn't return to damaged products. I bought the same product from two different stores, both packages arrived damaged due to extremely poor, flimsy packaging, and turns out both stores are owned by the same seller!!
I do not trust Ebay, it has been such a frustrating experience, waste of time and money. Have reverted to other more trustworthy and reliable online stores.

EBay seller superstores77

Watch out for sellers. I was stung by superstores77 for $400. They stole my money and didn't deliver my goods, ignored my emails and then eBay said they sent my money back to me which they never did and blaming my bank... eBay told me to ring my bank tomorrow see where my money is. Not the first this has occurred either .

Inferior products and supplier

Purchased some new shock absorbers for my 2004 Kia Sorrento, After paying $300 to the mechanic to replace them the mechanic mentioned that im not sure these are any good. In fact they were worse than the original ones I replaced. I advised the company that the replacement shocks were no good. They kindly sent another pair, which at first and prior to installing seemed to be stiffer then the prior pair they sent. I paid another $300 to have them replaced by the mechanic. After a few days of driving around they had lost all their stiffness and resistance and the car is again WORSE than the original shocks I replaced. This has now cost me over $700 and I will have to replace them again. The shocks are no good and the products are inferior and have not lasted a couple of weeks. It is getting ridiculous now even if they send me a now pair of shocks for free it will still cost me another $300 to get them replaced. To date I have not been offered a refund or reimbursement for the cost of installing their faulty shocks. Stay clear of this company their products are inferior and in my opinion should not be allowed to sell on ebay. I am bewildered there are not more complaints about this company on eBay

Don't expect eBay to help if you have trouble

Everything is fine as long as everything is fine.
However I encountered a fraudster who basically told me "I don’t deliver orders to tw*ts like you" and on asking for a refund replied "Nah I’ll just keep the money pal".
Their 'help' system just sent me round from one web page to another till I came back to the same page. It would advise selecting links that just don't exist.
I finally found a page where I could report it, got no acknowledgement email and nothing happened.
There is a phone no (1800 322 928) but there is an automated reply telling you to go back to the useless help pages, then it rings off.

Ebay is not trustworthy!!

I bought an inverter, the seller was from China. It was a false add, it was saying 4000/8000W. That is continuous and surge power. It was ridiculously small.
I tested it, was not able to carry 700W. I applied for return. Ebay dismiss my return saying that I did not return item in due time then, they said the transaction was genuine!!! Ebay is not reliable, protects the sellers. My advice: keep away from Ebay especially from Chinese sellers.

Ebay is aware of these faulty goods and allows it to happen as they state"we only platform not retailer so can not help or give you details if seller not responding. Sellers know this thats why whey mark postage dates so far in advance as Ebay wont help until after arival dtae and if after 30 days of purchase they dont care. These faulty alarms being sold by assuiecloud coul dkill people

Ebay allows foreign sellers to send…

Ebay allows foreign sellers to send items such as slippers from Portugal claiming they are a certain size, they clearly are not. Then when you report them for fraud they tell you to ship the damn slippers back and pay $29 with no tracking number of $68 with a tracking number. Sellers shouldn’t get away with lying about the merchandise they are sending to the United States. Seller claims they are a size 10 US, when clearly they are a size 8 US. Then you contact eBay and they tell you to f..k off and pay $29 without a tracking number. Or $68 with a tracking number. The total cost of the 2 pairs of slippers was $200.00. eBay can go to hell, I’ve been with them for 8 years and plan on never going back.

Ebay Permits Trademark Counterfeit product sales

Ebay Can Not Protect Its Customers from Fraud or Counterfeit Products. In Australia it is against the law to traffic or send trademarked and copyright counterfeit products through The Australian mail system or freight companies. Ebay instructs its buyers to break this law by sending back the counterfeit product through the mail system or you will not get a refund? Buyers Be Warned that by mailing back counterfeit product you also give the opportunity for the seller to destroy the counterfeit product but also allowing the seller to sell the counterfeit product to some other innocent buyer!

E-bay Seller Protection

E-bay Seller Protection, NO SUCH THING.
E-bay has fully refunded our buyer after numerous complaints to E-bay that the buyer lied about purchase information, then misused the return process. $370 held for two weeks then fully refunded to the buyer that stated in his negative feedback that he modified the item before returning it. Absolute disgrace.
