Stop recommending The St Michael's…

Stop recommending The St Michael's Mount & Long Stay Marazion Car park. The running of this car park is a disgrace and they need looking into. They are making money in what can only be described as a scam. The reviews on Trust pilot and Parkopedia show how disgusting the running of this car park is. It is not in anyone's benefit to be associated with this car park!!!

The primary problem is the car parking…

The primary problem is the car parking arrangement. The site and staff ( on the mount ) are fine and the system for booking visit is ok if a bit clunky . The main problem which has been publicised elsewhere is the inadequate and failing car parking payment system. My advice park elsewhere get a bus to the village and enjoy your visit stress free . Carefully check the parts of the site which are open and when eg closures of garden etc at certain times . What a shame this national treasure is let down by one element- the car parking system . Beware get the car park fee wrong and you will face a hefty bill . The system is not joined up eg the camera and ticket machine . You may pay at any stage but I recommend pre pay and over pay at the beginning of your stay if you want to take the risk . Paying additional fee is complicated and no guarantee that your payment is registered. Don’t spoil a visit use an alternative to visit . If it was possible I would have given a minus review . Probably the worst example of a customer unfriendly environment that I have ever encountered.

CAR PARK RIP OFF

CAR PARK RIP OFF - Please be warned that the St Aubyn Estates were busy during Lockdown sub contracting its car parks to Initial Parking Ltd of Birmingham and installing barriers, registration required Pay & Display Machines, and Cameras.

Prices are HIGH, now 24-HOURS and ANY transgression results in threatening letters demanding £100 with menaces - pay up or the bailiffs will be sent round. Multiple locals have been threatened and any good will has disappeared - Do your best to avoid the St Aubyn Estate car parks - they do not deserve your custom.

Computer says no

Jobsworth unhelpful parking attendants
You can only park if you have a contactless payment method. In spite of the fact that I bought a ticket for the ‘tour’ of the castle at £11.50 for a 20 minute walk around certain areas of the castle on my own. Very poor customer service and to be honest a complete waste of good time and money.

You must get a ticket to set foot on the island.

looked on their web site to see if i could buy a ticket for the garden. None available. So i went anyway to visit the harbour area instead. Problem is they only alow access to any part of the island if you have a garden or castle ticket. Which when i arrived i got turned away. No mention to access for the harbour was made clear on the web site unless you looked for it in FAQ.
Wasted of time and parking charges £6.
Not coming back 😕
