Steadfast Removals

We have moved 3 times in the past 5 years and this was by far the most stressful, and worst experience due to the removal company we chose. Our first sign that we’d made a big mistake was when Steadfast turned up and there was a strong smell of weed as they arrived and started to load up.

The team caused damage to both the property we were moving out of and the property we were moving into, which was a brand new build. Dents in walls which they tried to argue they hadn’t caused (we saw them do 2 of them), damage to the face of a door, numerous chips and dents out of door frames and stairwell, plus various scuffs on the walls from the black wrap they use.

Most of the damage only became evident after the team had left, by the end of the day we just wanted them out of our house, when we were able to have a better look around. We have raised this with Steadfast who continue to dismiss the damage as “minor” and telling us that they “didn’t cause us stress”. They have offered to come and make good the damage but after the experience of the company so far the last thing we want is them coming back in our house with their very unprofessional attitude.

The team rarely spoke English to each other so we felt in the dark about what was happening most of the time. We also had several confrontations with various members of the team over the way they were handling our furniture.

COVID – We moved in December during the COVID restrictions, understandably the team didn’t wear face coverings due to the physical nature of the works and to mitigate the risk to us or them the government guidelines are for us, the customer to either go out, or at least stay in another part of the house. We started out this way but it became more and more difficult as we became more and more stressed at the way our furniture was being handled, and then when we happened to catch one of our chest of drawers being banged into the wall we then felt we needed to keep an eye on them as much as possible. This only added to our stress and anxiety!!
