the whole package was exceptional John and Dave were fantastic hosts, their home is beautiful with everything that you need on hand.

Beautifully appointed, well equipped and spacious apartment. Lounge is the perfect space for two couples to be able to be together without having to sit in each other’s rooms as often is the case in hotels or B&B’s.
Perfect hosts, very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We felt completely at home. Huge choice of snacks available all day and breakfast was delicious - beautifully cooked and presented.
Thoroughly recommend- we will be back.

Great hospitality, great breakfast, lovely accomodation.

We chose Gowanlea Heights after reading the rave reviews, though I will admit we were prepared to be disappointed, surely nowhere could be that good, our concerns were soon put to rest.
Before our arrival we were given some pre arrival tips, including what to look out for on our drive from Glasgow, those tips were very helpful.
On our arrival we were given a warm welcome by Gino, the owners Bernese Mountain Dog, who was waiting in the car park and gave us a warm welcome, as did the owners of the establishment, John and David.
We were made very welcome and given a guided tour of our accommodation, which was absolutely lovely, I thought they'd given us the Presidential Suite by mistake.
The breakfast was cooked to order and delicious, though we will confess to downsizing on the second day, we just could eat it all and it was too good to waste.
John and David were the font of knowledge of everything on the Kintyre, even taking the trouble to show us around Cambletown and drive us to Saddell Bay where the famous Mull of Kintyre video was made, and yes I'm still humming the tune.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our, all too brief stay, thank you both for your hospitality, we particually enjoyed our after hours chats, John and David never seem to be off duty
I would book directly if and when we return, they have their own website.

The owners at Gowanlea Heights go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome and at home. The place is spotlessly clean and you have a very comfortable living room all to yourself as well as a bedroom and bathroom.
I defy anyone to say they are hungry after John’s breakfasts and the snacks provided, oh and a special mention must go to the most light and delicious chocolate cake!

Lovely place to stay and very welcoming

Our stay here was absolutely amazing and the hospitality provided by John is of the utmost quality. Their place was immaculate and stocked with everything you could need. Breakfast and even sandwiches to go were delicious. I hope to someday return and I would highly recommend this B&B to everyone!

Everything you need within walking distance. My second visit to Gowanlea and it remains the best B&B I’ve ever stayed at. Highly recommended.

Superb hosting with amenities and services well exceeding the norm. Location opens up a wealth of experiences (even for return visitors) and the scenery and drives are stunning. Have been many times and will return again.

The accommodation is very clean and welcoming. You have the whole bottom floor for yourselves. John and David is the best hosts and serve a fantastic breakfast.
There's snacks in the bedrooms and in the lounge always available.

Great location, friendly host, spacious rooms

It has been perfect!

The hosts are so helpful and the property is amazing. They have considered everything a guest may need and have it waiting for you. The food choices for breakfast are better than cafes. The lounge space is a great area to relax in and you are walking distance to restaurants and shops close by. Cant speak highly enough of our 3 day stay.

Wonderful place with fantastic hosts.

The owners were very responsive, gave great local information in advance and even let us know that there was an event we may be interested in before we arrived so we had time to book! On arrival the space was thoughtfully laid out and felt like a well stocked home away from home straight away.
