I used to buy an annual plan in last year and it supposed to be ended in this June, but Statista automatically charged me $59 monthly after the annual plan end. And the worst thing is, I CANNOT MANUALLY CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION.
2 weeks before, I call there Asia Customer Support many times but didn't reach anyone. Finally, I called the German branch and get somebody's help. He told me to write an email to them. Until today, nobody contact me regarding this issue.

I had an issue with my paid subscription a couple of weeks ago and I emailed their customer service. I immediately received a reply regarding their terms and conditions. I originally posted a negative feedback here when I got worried that they weren't going to refund me but their customer service got in touch with me just today to inform me that my refund request was accepted. My suggestion to all subscribers is to just be patient with their CS. Rest assured that they are doing everything in their power to address all issues.

Great Guest Lecture!
Thanks the account manager, Ms Stokes for the insightful presentation for my students at De Montfort University.

Statista is an awesome research tool. It is not an excuse to not collect your own data but it can provide useful direction on how to go about collecting your own data to test assumptions. Market shares of specific platforms and industries they serve are better approximated elsewhere. Where it excels is government statistics, say if an industry is legally bound to report figures or closely licensed to operate, Statista will find these details.

Opened an account for a year. Did not read the small print (..."will automatically renew in a year and we will charge you again"). Accepted the wasted money but, to add insult to injury, it seems to be impossible to cancel your membership from the account settings - very well tailored site to keep charging you for ever... I have a special kind of active dislike for such tactics.

It was AWFUL, please do yourself a favor and go find other solutions.
I NEVER used it and they took so much money from me. I was not able to cancel subscription and I was being charge a not depreciable amount of money every month. I sent SO many e-mails to support asking for help and nothing.
They have a section on the FAQs about "Deactivation Account", but my account did not have the same menu they indicated.
The only way to do it was googling it and it got me to:
statista . com/profile/delete/
(In case anyone is looking for it)
There is NO way to get there through the Statista page.
I actually had nightmares about it, even called my bank to close my account because no one in statista responded ANY of my e-mails or phone calls.
My experience was really horrible.

statista may have good web, good proucts, but definitely poor services. I try to get to know more, by sending emails. No response. either too many requests but too few staff, or just ignorant.. They do bad job in handling services

Just want to say that I've enjoyed the website. I only have the free account as I don't currently wish to spend the money to upgrade to a single account. The real reason I write this is because I'm surprised to find so many other reviews claiming they were 'tricked' into spending a lot of money on an account. I can clearly see "Price Per Month= $39.00" and then right below it "Contract Term= 12 months" and then below that "Total Price= $468". I just don't understand how so many people are missing this. The website is good and I'd say worth the money, if I had the expendable income.

For the past 2 months I have attempeted to Cancel my subscription to this service. The page in which I should be able to do so in my account is not available (?!) and NO ONE answers to either emails or phone calls.
Horrible service.

I cancelled these services with the merchant the same day of purchase and requested a refund. They did respond until a week later and then advised it was too late. I did not want their services and was under the impression it would be a free trial prior to the charge. Once I realized it was not I immediately submitted for a cancellation. They do not provide any further information as the site advises, so I’ve ultimately paid for nothing. With their site constantly popping up as a Google search result, I’m being charged for information that is public. This isn’t the first time they’ve done this as it is a repetitive habit. Unfortunately I did not look into the reviews prior to purchasing or I would have known the company is publicly considered a scam.

Dear Statista team,
My account was returned to Basic mode only one day after being upgraded to Single without any notice, I could not get in touch with you via mobile phone and email. I would like you to check your emails and respond to me to let me know what happened to my account.
Thank you very much for reading my request.

There is no information to cancel subscription and "Deactivation Account" menu was not activated at my account.
It is very sad to see the good service has dark user interface.

It's actually a very useful application, which is a pity because their customer service is non-existent and their sales practices extremely dodgy. If they got their act together and tried to be good at their jobs, they'd have a great product.

Appalling business practices. I've just been caught out - and I mean tricked - into paying what I thought was a monthly recurring subscription to discover I have been charged a full years fee. Further - on accessing the service, the available information is so limited so as to not even be worth $39 a month. Steer clear at all costs.

It so sad they have all these bad reviews and they constantly apologize, but don’t fix the problem. You obviously have false advertisement. I signed up for what I believed to be a month's subscription for $39. I was shocked to find out they had charged $468 to my credit card, a full annual membership. They then refused to issue a refund for the 11 months I did not intend to purchase, because there are no monthly subscription options. I couldn't believe this type of company could be allowed to operate. Now I see I am not alone.
Has anyone reported them to a consumer protection bureau? I would like to do so and am thinking of the following organizations. Wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on this?
- Federal Trade Commission:
- New York State Division of Consumer Protection
- econsumer.gov: a place to report international scams online

Ability to cancel is buried on page 8 of a lengthy document. If you buy any service, you are automatically signing up for subscription and have to contact them, in writing, a full 6 weeks before they arbitrarily renew your subscription. Your only recourse is to dispute the transaction with your bank.

Statista made my life extremely difficult and infuriating. The site has everything I need for my assignments and yet will not let me see the information unless I pay a quiet frankly, ridiculous subscription price and what makes this even more enraging is I cannot find the information anywhere else, as Statista with-holds their sources as well unless you pay the subscription! It is a terrible site, do not use, do not recommend, do NOT appreciate.

Reply from Statista
There is no option to deactivate the account apart from contacting support (The FAQ said is possible, but the button was removed when I wrote this). After my one time yearly payment, the following year they secretly charged monthly payment without notifying me.

- clicked on a resource
- asked for a subscription, subscribed
- could not access anything relevant, not even the resource I was asked the subscription for, total waste of money
- got asked for x20 upsell subscription in order to access anything relevant
- asked immediately for a full refund after a few minutes without having accessed any resource, refused to full refund, not respecting EU consumer or credit cards circuits rights
initial subscription is a total waste of money, just to upsell an unreasonable x20 price.
Statista should give customers real value, not a shady conversion and upsell process, refusing also immediate refund requests, ignoring customers rights.
update: I have contacted the mentioned email in the statista response, I did not get any reply or refund. Even if promptly asked for a refund without using at all their product, since the initial subscription is very very limited.
