Difficult Company to Work With
The company is very difficult to work with. The company posts many job ads almost weekly and I have been applying for a year. I applied multiple times throughout the year and they never respond.
I don’t know what this company is looking for but the position is constantly open and re-posted, which means they are constantly hiring or cannot keep employees. The turnover must be high and employees come and go. They consistently advertise which means staff is disposable. They only want short-term applicants, probably young kids with little to no experience they can overwork. It is a low-paying job.
They finally responded after multiple attempts. They finally reached out after months of not hearing anything and many attempts they finally replied and an interview was scheduled. It was an awkward phone call. They were not accommodating, nor helpful. After I finally got an interview, the experience was awkward. Their HR who interviewed me was not nice. She was rude and unprofessional. Her tone the entire interview was demeaning, arrogant, and condescending.
She asked generic questions pulled from the Internet, and everything was robotic and automated. There was little to no effort, no enthusiasm, and friendliness was nonexistent. It felt like a forced interview. She was uninviting, cold, and unwelcoming. It was a bit intimidating if you ask me. Like she didn’t want to do the interview to begin with but did it just to get me off their back.
I know for a fact my interview answers were not even submitted to the hiring manager. She was supposed to get in touch in a week but made a decision only a day later. I was not hired. They sent an auto-generated message saying I was not selected. I found it odd that their HR sent this on a Saturday at 9p.m. What’s even weird is she sent this message separately (to my personal email address) aside from the conversation thread we already had on Indeed where we were communicating directly. I was more than qualified for the job, I believe she did this out of spite and may have had something against me for no reason.
Misleading job description with different pay and when I inquired about it, she rudely replied in an annoyed and condescending manner. Their salary does not match the description. There were two different pay rates and when I asked about it, she scoffed (laughed with contempt) when I asked a simple question and she made a condescending and arrogant gesture about it. She just answered it rudely and moved on as if she was upset I called it out. Why did they have two different pay rates? No clue, and no explanation either. What's even worse is that this is their HR., the same person who probably has to hand out harassment policies. Condescending and arrogant.
I would not want to work for a company like this let alone a rude HR who’s sole job is to protect the company and not the employee. They do not even offer benefits. Nothing. Not even a PTO. Not recommended.
I have tried to post reviews on Indeed but the website is trash because my reviews kept getting deleted or rejected. Clearly they side with the employers because they are customers to the site. Indeed makes money off of employers so they hide honest negative reviews.
Not professional. Complete waste of time. They never even bothered to respond at all when I followed up with an email. No answer. Now I see why it’s hard for them to find anyone or keep anyone. I’m glad I dodged that bullet.
My suggestion is that in the future, they need to do better. The HR needs to do a better job with customer service skills, speaking professionally, and being useful to the company and actually doing her job for what she’s getting paid for. No one will keep their job if the environment is toxic with no room for growth.
Their HR needs to get replaced because she’s doing a horrible job of retaining staff, doing interviews, and even having bad communication. I believe she may be the problem as to why the company cannot find decent employees.
