STA School of Traditional Astrology Reviews

What makes STA a great course is it is well structured, has clear directions, excellent explanations and quick thorough replies to questions from all three tutors. Each test has answers with explanations of details plus additional review from Deb, Wade or Morgan as applicable. I really appreciate the clarity of explanations and professionalism demonstrated. The standards of ethics are well addressed, supportive of the client and astrologer. I cannot recommend this course enough for a solid foundation you can be proud of in Horary education. I took this after 3years at Kepler, and it really grounds a strong foundation. Worth the time, money and effort.

The STA Practitioners Horary Course exceeded my every expectation. From the rigorous course design, the thorough materials, support from tutors and the quality of their instruction... absolutely some of the best money one could spend on astrological education.

I decided to join the course because it had come highly recommended by others, and with my full chest I can say that the hype is absolutely warranted. The confidence I've gained by completing the course is invaluable.

That was one of the best formats of astrological course I've ever taken and I took a lot. It is well structured, full with reading materials, examples, answers, engaging students throughout the whole course, and the high level of professionalism and dedication of the tutors! Recommend it!

This course was much more than I expected. It is very professional and well-structured, with thorough reading material. It gave me valuable tools and solid knowledge. All the tutors, Deb, Wade and Morgan, were excellent. I recommend the STA 100%!

I highly recommend the STA Horary Astrology course to anyone who wants to study horary in a serious, structured, and traditional way.

What I appreciated most was the clear progression from foundational principles to practical chart judgement. The course does not simply teach isolated rules; it trains you to think systematically about significators, essential and accidental dignity, reception, planetary motion, applying and separating aspects, the Moon, timing, derived houses, and the process of bringing all of these testimonies together into a final judgement.

The worked chart examples were especially valuable because they showed how traditional techniques operate in real situations. I also appreciated the emphasis on careful reasoning and technical discipline rather than relying on intuition alone.

The course materials are detailed, well organised, and clearly designed to help students build confidence over time. By the end of the course, I felt much more capable of approaching a horary chart in a structured way and explaining why a judgement is supported by the chart.

For students who are genuinely interested in traditional horary astrology and are prepared to study carefully, I believe this course is a very worthwhile investment.

I have taken a number of astrology courses before, including with some well known names, and the course I took at School of Traditional Astrology was by far the best. The material is well presented by knowledgeable and helpful instructors, who seem to truly want to see their students succeed.

The course presents traditional astrology in a way that not only helps you navigate the practice, but helps you understand the various differences one might see within primary texts. There is a lot of insight that you can find nowhere else.

My only disappointment is that the course came to an end, but I have already signed up to take an additional course to further my understanding of traditional astrology.

Finally, practicing astrology can bring you in contact with people experiencing some serious difficulties within their lives. The material was handled with both the dignity and gravity it deserves, helping to impart the ethics and considerations one needs to practice with empathy.

This is the best astrology course I’ve ever taken. It is very professional, perfectly organized, and really well done. It’s impossible not to learn horary astrology by taking this course. Each class follows a clear structure of theory, exercises, and correction by the tutor.
Maria Blaquier is a special astrology teacher. She is highly knowledgeable, kind, and has great patience and clarity in her explanations. I highly recommend it!

I recommend the course to anyone interested in learning horary astrology. The program is well structured, and the supporting material is of excellent quality. The instructor uses the technical language proper to astrology, but she complements it with simple examples that make each lesson easy to understand. It was a very beautiful experience that required a great deal of discipline from the student.

This was one of the most thorough and well organized courses I've ever taken, and for the subject matter of Horary, it made the depth and level of detail accessible. The tutors are incredibly knowledgable with incredible attention to detail to help us along the way. I was very impressed with the material and the quality overall. I look forward to further studies at STA.

A perfect course from start to finish. I learned so much more than I had anticipated. The tutors are excellent and the material is very thorough. If you are interested in astrology and what it can do, this course will blow your mind!

I just finished the STA Practitioner Horary Course. I was with the September-to-April cohort. This is a course I would absolutely recommend to anyone interested in horary, or even astrology more generally.

The course feels like a Reader’s Digest version of the great astrological works, but without being merely an introduction to a collection of essays, or a series of “this great person said this, that one said that” when new concepts are introduced. It does not simply dump information on the student.

I can really see the sheer amount of reading the creator(s) of this course must have done, but the good thing is that the students do not need to do all of that reading themselves. The material is already organised and properly commented on, sometimes even with a sense of critical evaluation, as in: “yes, he said that, but in my opinion that is not entirely true.” So besides giving students a marche à suivre when it comes to horary chart reading, the course also explains the reasoning behind each step.

For “TL;DR” people, this is great, because you do not need to read everything. And for people who love reading, this is great too, because everything is properly quoted, analysed, and commented on. When one does decide to read further, one also has a much better sense of what material should be prioritised.

One thing I noticed about this course is that people arrive with very different levels of astrological knowledge. Some have already been practising professionally for some time, while others are complete beginners. But the course adapts really well to every level. Everyone gets something out of it, everyone learns something, and by the end, everyone is capable of judging a chart more or less competently.

I have just completed my Horary Practitioners course with STA and it was the best astrology course I have ever done. As a good Gemini, learning is my favorite hobby and Astrology my passion. So I have done many Ast. courses on different areas, including horary. This course is structured and organized. The tutors are extraordinary lecturers. You will be guided, accompanied and enlightened throughout the 6-month course to the point you will see and perceive your own evolution and growth during this time.
If I haven’t said it yet: This is the best Horary Astrology course you could possibly look for.

The courses I have taken at this school have been very useful and rewarding; they have helped me to see astrology from another perspective and have given me new knowledge.

It has been a truly remarkable journey studying with the STA the Horary Course practitioner level.
The course is exceptionally professional and well structured, with the material thoughtfully organised into clear chapters. Each section is supported by practical examples and assignments designed to sharpen your skills, alongside fascinating 'out of curriculum' chart discussions. Furthermore, the student forum is an invaluable resource, with Deborah Houlding and her expert team always on hand to provide guidance and answer questions throughout the course.
Upon completion, the graduate forum offers a vibrant community where you can stay connected and share insights with fellow practitioners. This online course provides what I believe to be the ultimate environment for success in horary astrology. I cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone looking to master this craft."

This course is both excellent and engaging. As a teacher, María has a great talent for making complex material easy to grasp, even if the subject matter is quite difficult to be absorbed all at once. Her dedication is remarkable; she consistently revisits key concepts throughout the classes to ensure everyone is on the same page. I believe this is the key to achieving the deep integration the course promises.
Personally, it has truly changed the way I look at the sky, helping me to understand the astronomical foundations behind every element of the birth chart. The course is a must-take for anyone who aims to study astrology seriously!

I just completed the Horary Practitioners course that ran from Sept through end of March. I have been thoroughly impressed by the level of teaching and the way the course was organized as well. As an educator myself and a working astrologer, I can’t say enough good things about this school. Lessons were planned well and the ability to watch it back later was seamless as well. On top of it, the tutors were passionate, delivering each lesson with precision. I am so glad I decided to expand my horizons by studying horary astrology through this school.

I managed to write a natal chart by hand.

It was especially valuable to see how the course brings the abstract symbolism of the natal chart into a concrete, experiential understanding.

I loved the course and looked forward to every lesson. The teachers genuinely care, and they approach the teaching with responsibility and involvement with the students. The teachers (Deb, Wade, Morgan and others) are true professionals and experts, yet they are giving away the knowledge and legacy of the ancient horary art in a humble, respectful way. It is a very educational, in depth, well-structured course, one of the best courses I ever took.

I’ve just completed a course with the School of Traditional Astrology, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best courses I’ve ever taken.
The structure is exceptionally well thought out, and the teaching is of a very high standard—clear, measured, and genuinely informative. What stood out to me most is how effectively the course guides you from complete beginner level to real competence, provided you engage with the material consistently.
It has transformed my understanding of traditional astrology, and in particular made the process of judging a horary chart much clearer and more accessible.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone with an interest in astrology, whether you’re just starting out or looking to deepen your knowledge. I’m already planning to continue with more courses from the School of Traditional Astrology—they really are that good.
