Absolutely brilliant app! I've been using it since December & only wish I'd known about it sooner. I use it for everyday purchases where you literally get free money towards paying off your mortgage.... See more

So easy to set up and get going. You can't physically allocate your mortgage until you have credit in the pot, for anyone thinking there is an issue.
I only use it for online purchases so I haven't had any of the 'waiting at checkout' problems but there is a simple way to resolve that, just requires planning ahead.

Great app! We use it a lot!
Given four stars for a few reasons.
1. My partner had the app first. We have a joint account that she used to link the app (NatWest). This meant I couldn’t link easily to the app once I downloaded. I do have my own current account, but it’s a Chase account which isn’t supported. I think it should be clearer about the joint accounts not being able to linked.
As it the forced me to open a new NatWest current account which was okay but not ideal!
2. It does take quite a long time to get vouchers in some cases. Not a big issue just seems like an age when there is a long queue behind you.
3. When you have a joint mortgage it should be easy to support that in the app. I.e split the overpayments section?
But overall, happy and am making good progress on paying my mortgage.

A great idea, has worked seamlessly, and motivated me to overpay my mortgage

I signed up to Sprive only about a month ago and up until last week was utterly delighted. I’d accrued around £90 of savings from cashback and was using their auto save feature also so on paper - wonderful. Well, I’ve had an issue with a purchase with Harvey Nichols who you may know have got a poor Trustpilot score for a reason. Parcel was lost with Royal Mail, eventually after the deadline when the parcel became missing mail and eligible for compensation it was found again, delivery attempted and I refused and it’s on its way back. HN are still refusing a refund. Now my issue with sprive is two fold - customer service are non existent and what protection do I have when retailers go rogue? I contacted their customer service and had no response. Commented on instagram and immediately got a reply to my original email - nothing they can do was the summary of that email - take it up with HN. But what next? I spent £200, didn’t get my item. Spent another £200 with Liberty to get my item on time. HN are still refusing to refund me until they’ve received the parcel back and inspected it and Sprive are of no help. And what happens if and when HN do eventually refund? Will I get a refund on my voucher from sprive? I’ve posed the question to them but they’ve not responded. I think more critically, looking at previous feedback, the customer service just isn’t there to trust them with my money! I’m now in a conundrum where I don’t want to withdraw my savings out as it may affect the issue but I don’t want to leave my money in there as I’m not convinced on the level of protection it offers anymore!

I think it's a brilliant idea, it's really easy to do and really helpful

So simple to use. All my regular shopping now contributes to the paying down of my mortgage! Please don’t change!

Great app, easy to use and lots of different companies being added all of the time.
Only problem is the time taken to get the voucher when you are at the checkout. Takes a while to authenticate and sometimes doesnt based on signal. Its not always possible to "pre-load" as you dont know what you are going to spend.
Otherwise the app is great

Fab app - just doing the weekly shop means you can chop a lot of time of your mortgage! There are probably some gripes and performance issues every now and then, but it is an absolute no brainer to shave time of the mortgage. I only wish this was around when I first got my mortgage

I was a bit unsure about using Sprive but it's been so much easier than I expected! It's helped me pay an extra £5-£10 a month off my mortgage just through things that I was already buying anyway. Great concept! ✨

Great app. Autosaves every month and keeps tabs on whats being paid off
Would be better if it had more functionality, say, like the Plum app, where you can do round ups etc.
I don't really use it to spend on items. I find it a little clunky. Be great if it was a bit more streamlined, but a great app none the less! It's paying my mortgage off sooner and saving me money, and that's the point!!

Started off just fine, now seems embarrassingly slow at the checkout

Saw ad, downloaded app. I started paying as I shopped but that was slow in Q's so now opt for buying vouchers in advance. Smooth no issues. Pay across to mortgage halt way through the month every month, easy.

I think this is a brilliant app, it has made me use my own personal debit card to buy things and also give me cash back at the same time. This has reduced my credit card spending and also started me on a journey to pay back my major debt in mortgage on a monthly basis.

I love this App, its easy to use & paying straight to my mortgage lender is brilliant, I love the top up feature, each month I would change my standing order from my bank depending on how much extra I could manage but with Sprive I dont need the standing order, I can just top up & pay, so pleased I found this.

Absolutely fantastic cant see anything negative. Easy to use, shop as normal and pay off your morgage quicker whats not to like

Its ok, but boy does it take a long time to get a voucher, especially when you are at the checkout!
And trying to find out the balance of a gift card purchased is the most painful experience! Especially with morrisons.
Just keep your receipts, put the balance to the nearest pound or two into a savings account connect to a current account (ie spaces in Starling) and pay to your mortgage on the first day of every month! Much easier than buying a voucher, especially if you use a credit card to buy shopping.......

I was initially hesitant to try the Sprive app because I’m terrible at remembering cashback offers and buying gift cards. But I gave it a go over a year ago.
At first, I only did surveys, and later I started buying gift cards when shopping in-store. The first few months were rough—the app didn’t work properly a lot of the time—but I stuck with it, and I’m so glad I did.
Thanks to Sprive, I’ve now been able to overpay my mortgage every month. Recently, the gift card experience has been so much smoother and more reliable, and it’s clear the app has improved massively.
I’m writing this review because in the last 3 months alone I’ve made over £21 in rewards, and in the last 12 months I’ve overpaid my mortgage by £1,000 using Sprive. That might not sound like a lot to some people, but it’s a big deal to me.
I’ve also invited my husband and my parents—my husband now uses it all the time. The only downside is I’ve run out of people to invite, and I wish there was another way to access Sprive Plus.Other then that I love where the app is going and how easy it is now to use.

I love the app because overpaying my mortgage as much as possible is really important to me. The vouchers do take a long time to buy with all the bank checks and some stores want to 'check you are human' to show the voucher too. It can be embarrassing if there is a que behind you. I prefer to use it at a self-checkout.

Yes this app is great and easy connection with the mortgage. Generally works well - one issue I have hit is that when you purchase on a website via the Sprive app - the cashbash should be credited in 10 working days - when this didn’t happen I questioned this via their customer service. I was initially told would take 10 working days and then they would chase. I asked them to chase as payment not received - I was then told would take up to 111 working days. This is 4 to 5 months which makes no sense - pity the timescales are not clearer/quicker. Doesn’t inspire me to use this app link again unfortunately. Otherwise an interesting app.
