Ripoff, False advertising, horrible customer service.

This company typically doesn't state the brand names of the items they're selling. Reason being, they mark these items way up, then take a percentage off, acting like they're giving you a deal, and they don't want you to be able to look up the item and see that it's cheaper than their price on every other website, and that they sell mostly off brand junk imported from China! It's a horrible scam. I've emailed them regarding this. Their customer service promise is to get back to you within 1-2 business days. Yet they have NEVER gotten back to me.

HORRIBLE

I am a merchant who has tried to work with spreebird two different times, they contact me. I have not reached out to them. They are horrible. No one follows through, no one returns calls, or e-mails. There is absolutely no communication. They have a team that must of flown the coop> As Spreebird is not at the helm. I would never ever work with them again, nor buy any thing from there company. After setting up a contract with me to run a deal, and no communication, And I reach out to them for answers. There corp "steph" tells me they do not work with my type of business. WOW really, They did once before. So let me clarify> this type of business will not work with spreebird.

ripoff

Made a purchase from Spreebird (TekGrabber) on a 2pak 9ft phone/ipad cables for $15.00. Went to the Tekgrabber website and they sell it for $11.95 free shipping. I would have bought it directly and save me $3.00 a bad customer service. I dont recommend purchasing anything from spreebird.

They don't review these companies before they use them in a deal

I purchased a deal from Spreebird to have my carpets cleaned by "Eco Safe Steam Cleaning". I had 3 months before the deal expired. I spent over a month trying to get in touch with the Eco Safe Steam Cleaning company. Numerous emails, numerous phone calls and messages, I even had Spreebird contact them. No luck. No returned calls or emails from them. Spreebirds response "I would be surprised if they don't get back to you because I do not show any history of them being non responsive.". However after researching this company there are countless negative reviews about them with many complaints from unsatisfied customers. I was a little perturbed by Spreebird also. I realize that they have no control over the carpet company calling me back but to know that they would offer a deal from this unreputable company reflects on Spreebird in my opinion. Do they research the companies that they offer deals from? I spent another month requesting a full refund for this deal I purchased from Spreebird. They stopped replying to me until I threatened further action. Today I got a credit back to my card. Arg! Nightmare!

Will Never buy from them again....

3rd times a charm....I have purchased 3 things from Spreebird. NOT one has been easy or satisfying. the 1st was a salon pedicure..called to make an appointment, the lady told me that Spreebird overwhelmed her and she can not take on any new clients. she left the salon after 3 weeks because of stress...spreebird finally gave back money in a credit...6 months later I bought a new i phone case. Purchased on sept 7th. Still have not received it.. said they would give my money back but only in credit again. and I would still get to keep the iphone case...told me it would be there in the next 3 days .. that was two weeks ago... now have 24.00 in credit again so bought a new ipad cover last week. Got it in the mail in 3 days... WOW great!!! Not what I ordered...now the cover co. wants me to spend 10.00 more dollars of my own money not credits from spreebird to get the right one and send back the item and I have to pay 3.95 shipping... so total deal I am out pocket 27.95 yet still have nothing....Still no cover yet . found out on ebay that the item I received that they stated was 50.00 value for only 14.00 was actually at APPLE for 14.95 and on ebay for less then 3.00 for new ones.. Total rip OFF!!!! Do not buy from spreebird.!!!

ANOTHER VICTIM OF TECH TEAM RC

I purchased the helicopter $15.00 promotion. Spreebird charged my card the $15.00, I then heard from Tech Team confirming my order. Purchase total to include shipping $88.80. I contacted Tech Team 3 times via email, telling them to cancel the order, they still sent the order and never responded to me. I refused delivery and returned the item to Tech Team. I also contacted Spreebird, they pretended to be concerned and would contact the merchant. They never did. My card was charged the $15.00 + the $88.80 and I have nothing for it. AMEX is now dealing with the situation. Not only for me but for future scams with Tech Team. Spreebird is no deal and could care less who they are affiliated with. Wasted time and money is the only thing you will get from this group.

BAD merchants as well customer service

I ordered Christmas gifts from a company called Tech Team RC.
The shipping and handling was $32 between the 4 items, all of which were shipped in the same box. When it arrived, 2 of the boxes were damaged. I called the company and was asked if the items worked. I said that I didn't know because they were gifts...they weren't for my personal use. They wanted me to take the packaging apart and try them out. I said that I wouldn't do that to a gift. After 3 phone calls and 4 e-mails with no reply I contacted Spreebird.
This is the response I got from them:
After speaking with the merchant he gave me a couple of options for you. He told me that they are happy to replace the products, however you would need to return the ones you have and you would be responsible for the cost of shipping. He also gave you the option of dropping it off to there offices. He told me that they are located in Woodland Hills. Let me know how you would like to proceed.
Thanks so much for using Spreebird

My repsonse to them:
Thank you Rahsaan…Woodland Hills is not close to me and I’ve already spent too much on shipping for these items as it is.

They certainly weren’t a “deal”.

That’s disappointing to know that Spreebird accepts deceiving merchants like these. I’ll definitely think twice about buying anything from Spreebird again and will certainly share my experience with others wherever I can.

WARNING - NO REFUND POLICY - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

Ok, I thought they were like groupon -- so wrong.
I paid $235 for 5 fishing tickets and they took my money and then refused to issue me a refund when I had to cancel the purchase a full 5 days before the date of the fishing trip. If I had bought the tickets directly, they would have issued a full refund with 5 days notice, but it's Spreebird policy, I'm told, to keep the money and give you a credit. So, I'm out over $200 bucks, unless of course, I want to buy the limited items, like mascara or handbags they have on the website today. Don't give them a dime you don't want to throw away.

Nothing but problems....

I should have learned the first time I had problems with spreebird. The first time was with the fandango codes...that was $12 lost.

Then, I was dumb enough to purchase from them again. This time, it was for shoescandal.com. I purchased two vouchers for boots for a total of $44. When I went to the Shoe Scandal website, neither one of my codes worked! I immediately e-mailed spreebird on March 19th. After a week of not hearing from them, I e-mailed them again on the 25th. I still have not heard from them. I am so disappointed in this company. I just want to get my money back seeing that I am very unlikely to get my shoes. If I don't get my money back, I will now have lost over $50! This is so frustrating! DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!

spreebird aka screamin daily deals

Let me first start by saying that I am truly surprised by all of the reviews for Spreebird. I have purchased many deals from spreebird and have had very few problems, yes I met a snag with a fandango purchase, but that was an issue with the merchant, not spreebird. What I have found is that these are really good deals, but sometimes it seems like the merchant and their employees are not prepared for the volume of new customers and get in a little too deep. This concept is great, give us new customers, a discount and then provide the great service that is their specialty, and we come back at full price again. I have even found that even when the voucher is expired the merchants will still provide service in the amount paid. Perfect! I missed out and forgot to use my voucher. Give them a call and ask, make sure to get past the hostess or receptionist and talk to a manager. Just remember most problems stem from the specific merchants employees not understanding how this works...and if that is the case take the credits and try a new one...and on a Mt. Baldy note...read their yelp reviews and such too...they are attached to the deals these days....sorry to hear of other people's problems but remember how many people buy these deals....I will continue using and recommending spreebird they have great deals and they give back....point made

It is not a saving if they take your money and give you a headache in return

I placed an order ISO ionic beauty dryer, after a few weeks waiting for my dryer with no confirmation of shipment of any type, I got a bit worried. I sent an email to customer support requesting for status, I received no respond. I'm really concerned because they've already taken money out of my account. This is a lesson that I will never order anything from this site again. Let this be a lesson to any future customers. It is not worth the headache. It is not a saving if they're taking your money and not giving you a product, customer service or if you have to wait more than a few weeks. I do hope they will get their act together before consumer advocate steps in where they have more to loose.

No Customer Service

I bought a restaurant deal with them a few weeks ago. Called the restaurant to make reservations and their terms are different than what Spreebird specified - different dates than what Spreebird listed + they put a price limit on what can be ordered which Spreebird did NOT mention when you buy the deal. I tried to call and e-mail Spreebird multiple times. NEVER got a response. I've given up on trying to get a refund or even just have Spreebird contact the restaurant to straighten out the details. Will NOT buy from them again.

0 Stars for Spreebird a.k.a Screamin Deals

Let me first off say that this company runs deals non-stop yet they failed to have customer service on the 29th & 30th of December. I understand people like to have time off for the holidays however what happens if there's a problem to the customer who already bought coupons and are having trouble. I understand being close for Christmas and New Years but all the other days are not acceptable.

I was so excited to buy their Mt. Blady deal which included, Two Hours of Tubing, and Chairlift Rides. I bought these tickets for my kids as stocking presents and they were jazz about them. We went and purchase snow equipment and drove an hour to Mt. Blady (after checking there website stating there was 14 in of snow).
When we arrive we saw no snow however the lady at the counter said the snow was at the top and we would see it all after the lift.

Took her word for it and when I got to the top after a 25 min lift ride, I spotted 14 more like DROPS of snow with their 40 ft fence tubing area with a 50 minute wait line. I was so upset and a handful of people shared my frustration. The guys handing the wrist bands said he hears people complaining all day and they sold 4,000 of these coupons from different sites. They were over crowded and kids were getting pushed around from the lines. The deal was posted as if we got a tube for 2 hours and was able to fine a patch of snow and play. I bought 4 of these coupons but my son was afraid to go down the hill because there was so many people so me and him stood aside. My husband and other son only went down once (2 seconds) before they they had to get back in line. We decided there was no point and left.

I called Spreebird from Mt. Blady and of course they were on vacation and wouldn't return to the 3rd of January. So I spoke with the lady at the bottom and told her I would appreciate a refund however she refuse. She said to take it up with SB because they only got paid half of the deal.

When SB finally open on the 3rd I spoke with a customer service representative and she said that getting a refund shouldn't be a problem but she has to get it approve and she would contact me by Wednesday at 10:35. Wednesday came and nothing called her line again and she didn't ask for my information and she was talking to me as if I was someone else and that she would contact me by Thursday at 12:30, then nothing.
At this point my usually calm self is upset. I called Thursday (Today) and spoke with the lady in charge and in which she made it known that there was no one above her beside the stock holders. She did offer me a credit for another coupon to use with them however at this point, I was so frustrated with their costumer service I just wanted a refund and to part ways.

In the end I didn't receive a refund and I'm force to try another deal or lose all together. So upset and unhappy with their customer service. If I would have been able to reach someone that day (30th) and receive a refund then things would be different but their lack of compassion for their customers drove me away. We shouldn't be force to use them again if we were unhappy the first time. Me and my son didn't even get to use the tubes and of course when you reach the bottom of the hill and try to explain that to management on site they give you the cold shoulder.

I purchase 3 other deals with them before this happen and of course I have to use them and then I'll never use this company again nor will I endorse them at our school with our PTA because I would hate to recommend them to other parents and deal with the same problems. We can make our school money other ways. Reviews on a company are important, I'm sure you all can made good judgement as to rather or not you want to use them.

Deal or No Deal

I ordered a two movie tickets from Fandango deal. However, first you need to log into the digitaldoorstep.com site in order to get the code. When I logged in to try and use it the site was out of commission and would not be available for a few days. I've given these away as gifts as well and feel embarrassed that they will not even work for my friends either. When I called spreebird deals they blamed the problem on digitaldoorstep.com instead of as a bad deal gone wrong. There is a time limit on these coupons as well which makes all that much worse. I have yet to have a problem like this one with any of the other deal companies out there like groupon or livingsocial. I would not recommend anyone using spreebird, and I certainly won't.

Spreebird deals take TOO long

I ordered a Subway card through Spreebird on September 24th. As of today, I still have not received it and I redeemed the voucher and all. I emailed Spreebird to ask how long it would be before the card was here and they told me that it had been mailed out a few weeks prior. They also told me to expect it sometime last week. Well, the week passed, so I emailed them again to find out why it was taking so long. They sent me an email back saying they canceled my order and refunded it. I didn't ask for it to be canceled. I was simply inquiring as to why it was taking so long. Anyway, I would not recommend buying from them. It is ridiculous that it takes over two months for a $10.00 Subway card to get to me.
Like a previous reviewer said, there are many other sites that you can go to and get the product right away without having them hold your money for over two months before you complain.

Spreebird a.k.a. Screamin Daily Deals

This is a warning not to purchase deals from this site, one of the many copycats of Groupon. The other such sites I've dealt with, and especially Groupon itself, are very responsible with respect to any untoward experiences. Not so here.

I purchased a voucher for a restaurant meal, and a few days ago proceeded to the restaurant. I knew the restaurant was not really close, but I at least expected to be able to find it from the street address. In fact the street number provided was nowhere to be seen from the street. After driving around and then walking back and forth and about, I finally located the place deep inside an (unnumbered) shopping mall. All this hunting consumed an extra half an hour or more, and then I saw the business, shut down.

It turns out that Spreebird knew it was folded, but deliberately chose not to notify purchasers like me. Its entire reason seems to be that it didn't want to bother customers who'd already used the voucher!

When I asked for recompense, they amazingly wanted me to accept "spreebucks" in the amount of my purchase, toward another voucher. They did agree to refund my purchase price, but nothing at all for my time and trouble.

There are too many deal-of-the-day sites out there to go with a loser like this.

We apologize for this severe inconvenience. This is highly unusual for our company and I do appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We never want this to be the case and are very sorry this merchant was unable to fulfill their obligation to you. However, we will always stand behind our offers and do take care of our members. In this case, I do see our rep, told you that we didn't send out information regarding this closure. We were only just notified the day before and are absolutely working to get all of our members a notification, regardless of whether or not they could have 'possibly' redeemed it.

We never want a situation like yours to happen. Also, it is our policy to give our member a choice between Spree Bucks or a refund to their credit card. This situation obviously entitles you to a refund, plus some additional credits. In this case, in the amount of $10, which I have applied to your account with us. These credits do not ever expire and will apply automatically if you so choose to use them. I have also processed the other voucher you had requested refunded to your credit card and you should be receiving an email confirmation shortly. Again, very sorry this situation occurred, please let us know if there is anything further we may do for you.
