After my dad, who has dementia and lives in a care home, broke his glasses, I struggled to find an optician who could help quickly, especially since he wasn’t mobile after a recent fall. His regular optician needed him to come in, and Specsavers offered the earliest home visit in two weeks—just for an eye test, with a further wait for the glasses.

Thankfully, I found Specs OnCall online. I left a message, and within an hour they called me back and arranged a home visit for that same week. The optician, Mohammed, was fantastic with my dad—patient, adaptable, and very understanding of his dementia. He carried out a full eye test at the care home and helped us order two pairs of glasses: one bifocal (which would take two weeks) and one single vision for short-term use.

Amazingly, the single vision glasses were ready in just two days and delivered personally by Mohammed, and the bifocals arrived exactly on time two weeks later. The entire process was smooth, compassionate, and efficient. I’m extremely grateful for the service and highly recommend Specs OnCall for anyone needing home optician visits.

Specs on call came to my house for myself and my daughter to have our eyes tested. It was easy and very professionally from start to finish. I'm looking forward to wearing my new glasses.

My wife and I are in our mid eighties, she is housebound and so am I effectively in looking after her. We both needed eye tests and our current optician could not offer a home visit at a time that was suitable for us.

I arranged a domiciliary eye care visit for my mum, and the service exceeded all our expectations. From the moment I contacted them, the optometrist was professional, courteous, and incredibly understanding of my mum’s needs. The optometrist was punctual, friendly, and showed great patience and care throughout the visit, making my mum feel completely at ease in her own home.

The eye examination was thorough, and everything was explained clearly. They even brought a wide selection of frames for her to choose from, which was a lovely touch. It’s such a relief to have this level of care available at home, especially for someone with mobility issues.

I had to use Specs on Call because my elderly father is bed bound. This made it difficult to get to a conventional Opticians.

Specs on Call came out and carried out a full eye test, they were patient and took their time ensuring my father was comfortable at all time.

After the examination, we were offered advice on glasses and further treatment. My father was given a prescription and there was no hard selling of frames or lenses.

As my father needed a referral to hospital Specs on Call took care of that and reassured us about what would come next.

All in all a great service.

Optician Mr Ullah was really knowledgeable and friendly. After prescribing the number, he also helped me to select frame.

He delivered the frame to my house and then sat with me for while to ensure I am comfortable with new number which was unusual for me because no one cares about their patient but Mr Ullah stayed with me to ensure that if i am not comfortable with prescribed number then he is willing to change the number. My overall experience was great. I would highly recommend Mr Ullah to others.
