I love my lessons with Gina from Spanish & Coffee so much! I initially started taking 1:1 lessons with Gina over Zoom at the beginning of 2025, as I had a trip to Mexico planned in summer 2025 and I wanted to improve my spoken Spanish. However, I enjoyed my lessons with Gina so much that I have carried on with them, even after the trip!

Lessons with Gina are a mix of grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading and speaking (+ some writing is always included in the homework) and every lesson is tailormade to suit my level, previous knowledge and preferences. The lessons are always so enjoyable that I can never believe it when Gina says an hour has already gone past and it is time to finish!

My Spanish has improved so much over the last year… And I can’t wait to improve even more in 2026!

Learning with Gina is wonderful. Her resources are targeted, interesting and well designed to improve learning most effectively. Gina has unending patience, and has enormous skill in demonstrating and reinforcing important and highly useful points of grammar, espression and idiom. After every lesson I am conscious of improvement in my journey with the Spanish language. Further, I have learnt much about South American culture. I've had classes with Gina Herrera for over a quarter of a year now and the experience has been excellent. Gina is a wonderful teacher and a great person. She is intelligent, thoughtful, caring and patient. She expresses herself clearly and carefully and her lessons are equally fun as they are informative. My Spanish has improved exponentially and I look forward to more classes with Gina.

I have worked with Gina as part of a small class group and at the end of the 10-session pack, I was so impressed with her style of teaching that I have chosen to work again with her on a 1-to-1 basis. My boyfriend is now part of the classes too and like me, having a great time. Gina’s approach provides the perfect balance of grammar rules (broken down simply and clearly), speaking (practical, situation-based and highly context relevant practice exercises) and listening. As somebody who had never practiced Spanish before, I can say Gina is helping me build my confidence in this new language. Thanks a lot Gina and Spanish & Café!

I have been having 1:1 online lessons with Dayana and they have been excellent. I am preparing for a visit to Mexico later in the year and she has perfectly tailored our lessons so I will be confident speaking Spanish on my upcoming trip. Highly recommended!

I have used Spanish and Coffee for some years, starting face-to-face, then switching to online, having a break, then returning. All of the tutors have been excellent. I am currently really enjoying lessons with Gina who teaches me from Colombia. Gina makes the lessons very interesting and is very responsive to my needs (I am pushing towards C1). Having also had locally based tutors, I am actually enjoying the experience of having a tutor in a different country, who brings a new angle to my Spanish journey.

I have been having lessons with Catherine for 4 months. She is a great teacher. She makes the lessons fun, interesting and rewarding. I am delighted with the progress that I am making. I highly recommend Spanish and Coffee to anyone who wants to improve their Spanish.

Spanish and Coffee is a great concept. It offers tuition which is tailored to your requirements at a reasonable cost. I thoroughly enjoy my one to one lessons with the delightful Catherine, and thanks to her my Spanish has come on leaps and bounds in a matter of weeks. Thoroughly recommended.

I initially had some difficulties booking classes as one member of staff wasn't very responsive. However, I received an apology and the lessons since have been very good.

The Spanish and Coffee lessons I have with Valeria have turned around my ability to learn a foreign language. I’ve always struggled with learning languages but I have made vastly more progress than any app or youtube video or school lesson in the past.

Valeria tailors each lesson with exercises, audio, video and games to match my learning style. This means I get a sense of achievement each lesson and always feel like I’ve made progress. It’s a no judgement environment where every lesson is positive and friendly.

If you’ve struggled with learning languages before give Spanish and Coffee a try, it’s really worth it.

Spanish and Coffee is a fantastic company and lessons are well worth every penny of the price. The lessons are engaging and varied, with perfectly-pitched activities. The questions are interesting, topical and allow you to be creative. The (optional) homework is the perfect amount and helps me revise what we have covered in the lesson to really embed it into my memory. I really enjoy my lessons and look forward to them every week. My teacher is Valeria who is an absolute star. She is positive, friendly, supportive and helpful and I feel, down to her, I am improving leaps and bounds each week. I really can’t fault Spanish and Coffee, if you are looking for great teaching this is the company for you.

I am currently a student at Spanish and Coffee. My teacher Laura is a wonderful teacher who is very patient and always positive. I know that I get to a good basic/intermediate level in next year.

Strong recommend from me. Johanna has helped guide me from close to non-existent Spanish ability to having real confidence in conversations. The course is well structured and administered. Grammar rules are also always explained to me clearly and thoughtfully. I've found it fun!

The highly professional teacher and a relaxed atmosphere give you the best opportunity to upgrade your Spanish so you can feel the progress after just a couple of months from the start! Johanna at Spanish and Coffee is such an excellent teacher. She has an inherent understanding of how to get the best out of you, is a great communicator, motivator and also manages to make the classes fun. I look forward to our classes each week! I have been trying to learn Spanish for over 30 years with no success but within 6 months of classes with Johanna, I was able have conversations in Spanish on my trip to Barcelona!
