I phoned up regarding a broken part on my machine Louise sorted it for me to receive a goodwill replacement thus negating the need to return the machine as it is an easy fix allowing me to continue enjoying my morning coffee 😊😊

UPDATE SMEG responded to this review and requested my contact details, which I provided. However, no substantive follow-up has taken place beyond further responses from customer services repeating the same position. The issue remains unresolved, with SMEG offering only a 50% contribution despite having supplied the faulty replacement directly.
I had a faulty coffee machine originally purchased via Amazon. To their credit, SMEG supplied a replacement directly.
However, the replacement developed the same fault, which SMEG has acknowledged.
At that point, things went downhill.
SMEG is now refusing to repair or replace the faulty replacement machine, citing “logistical issues” with my location (Guernsey), and has suggested I go back to Amazon — despite the fact that Amazon did not supply the replacement unit.
I have clearly set out that:
• SMEG supplied the replacement directly
• SMEG has accepted it is faulty
• SMEG is therefore responsible for providing a remedy
Despite this, they have:
• refused to act
• provided no legal basis for their position
• and have now stopped responding altogether
This is extremely disappointing from a premium brand.
Supplying a defective replacement product and then refusing to remedy it — while directing the customer elsewhere — is not acceptable.
I am now left having to escalate the matter further to resolve what should have been straightforward.

My experience with Smeg UK - Spares (Dominic) and Smeg UK - Customer Service (Louise) has been outstanding, both when trying to rectify my Smeg Kitchen Item with a spare part then replacing the item within days when this wasn’t successful, my sincere thanks to all, kind regards, Steve Dean

Faulty leaking kettle
Having spoken to Michelle and explained that my kettle has to be left completely empty otherwise that it leaks all over the counter top, she has arranged for a replacement to be sent due to still being in the 2 year warranty period.
I also noted that our toaster sticks and although I couldn't find proof of purchase for this item, as a goodwill gesture I was given the option to purchase and replace at a lower price.
Great customer service, thank you :-)

UPDATE Following on from my issue Smeg did resolve the faulty item and ensured they will be addressing this with their service team to ensure this issues doesn't arise again offering a small item as a gesture of goodwill
I am not sure at this time that I wish to rate them higher as I have no way of knowing if their service does change unless I have another issue, hopefully not! but did expect more from this brand
Re product C92IPX9 - electric range cooker
This cooker has a self clean option On the 3rd use the glass inside shattered
Called ao.com who put me in touch with Smeg and they passed this on to a repair company. Not having heard anything for 3 days called Smeg and their answer was, we handed the repair over to another company so we leave it in their hands - I explained not good enough, its a Smeg product and their responsibility
They chased the company who had not done anything with the request as they were on holiday - NO COMMENT!!
Smeg ordered a part and received by new repair company who will take over a week to repair.
The oven(s) cannot be used at all and this will be (all being good the repair happens) over 2 weeks
This is not the first time I have had an issue with SMEG and their customers service, in particular. Would I buy a product from them again - I doubt it very much!

I had an issue with my Smeg kettle, as the paint had peeled in a number of areas.
I contacted Smeg Customer care who gave me a wonderful level of customer service. I engaged with "Steph", who apologised, understood and was extremely efficient in organising a replacement. She was so professional and helpful. Totally restored my confidence in the brand.

When my SMEG range cooker failed after five years of light use I contacted them and they sent an engineer. He said that the cooker would cost £310 to repair. I agreed, and the engineer did the work, but the cooker still would not work. The engineer said it would need a further £680 worth of work...£990 in all. I said that I couldn't spend that much, but SMEG insisted that I still had to pay the £310 bill, although it did not fix the cooker. I had to appeal to the "Furniture and home improvements ombudsman" to get the £310 demand dropped.
But here is the interesting twist to the story.
Before dumping the cooker, I thought that I would take a look at it myself first.
Twenty minutes with a simple circuit tester revealed that there was nothing wrong with the elements, all of which SMEG's engineers had said needed replacing, and that the fault was with a single failed component which I was easily able to replace at a cost of £20.
The cooker now works perfectly.
I have to wonder about the quality of SMEG's engineers and their failure to identify a simple fault. They would have charged us a very great deal of money for nothing. And their customer service was appallingly rude and dismissive...
Just in case you are reading this, SMEG, Incident: 250829-000035. No need to contact me to ask for further details, you already have them!
