Terrible customer service
We have a gas range. It's beautiful, but after 3 years, the rubber feet started falling off the cast iron grates. This is not a big deal in itself, but we've been calling and calling and calling; they usually don't answer, but if they do, they will refer us to someone else who never calls or emails back. If we leave a message, we do not get a call back. We can't even get a small replacement part from them. Now the oven light has gone out, but I guess our range will just slowly fall apart until we cannot use it anymore, and then we'll buy a new stove (NOT a Smeg!), since there's no way to replace the parts. We are very disappointed in this company, as we paid a lot for what we thought was a top brand. Do NOT make the mistake of buying anything from Smeg.
Smeg kettle …
Bought a smeg kettle and just outside of the 3 yr warranty period the switch broke . Unable to speak to someone , have to go through a complex online procedure . Gave up in the end . Terrible customer service and would expect a £150 kettle to last longer .

I’m presently waiting for a smeg kettle and toaster which I ordered on the 3 rd of nov 2024 . The delivery date was 3/4 weeks but I have not received the order yet . Tattahome is the company I ordered from and each time I send a email requesting updates on my order I’m told they are waiting for an order from Smeg . I ordered these items for a Xmas gift but I’m certain I will not receive them for Xmas I’m so disapointed . My kettle failed this week so I replaced it with another brand. I bought SMEG because I thought it was a quality brand, it should be considering the price against its competitors. The kettle failed about a 12 months from purchase and was replaced by John Lewis. The replacement has now failed so i have given in. It has always allowed steam to come out at the back of the lid and you have to be careful hold the handle lower or you get scalded. Thelid obviously doesn't seat properly. The machine is noisy and not particularly quick. My matching toaster is particularly slow and difficult to clean as the tray does not catch the crumbs and the crumbs remain in the machine unless you turn it upside down and give it a shake so th crumbs are then all over the kitchen.
Appalling service
Appalling service. I got a mark on my hob one month after install. Wrote to them as under warranty. Even asked what caused it and if I could do something. Instead of suggesting things they accused me of leaving food on the hob or using rough bottom pots. Totally disgusted. That said I got special hob cleaner and it came off (tried lots of cleaners before that).

We live opposite the main shop in Lisbon and thought it was good to refit our entire kitchen with one supplier.
What a huge mistake!
I write for the first time here because I’m fuming - our microwave oven has broken for the third time! They want 530 euros to repair it.
The other oven has also broke once and the American style fridge/freezer has also broken once and the ice maker broke about 2 days after the guarantee finished and they wanted 500 euros to repair that!
The advice, support and service has been absolutely terrible.
I have never dealt with such a useless, unsupportive and unprofessional company as this. They are basically fraudulent. Avoid all products from this company!

Rip off company
My kettle started leaking so I contacted the seller. They told me I had a 5yr warranty & Smeg would replace. However when I contacted Smeg they LIED!!They said my warranty had ran out & id need to pay a third of purchase price to fix!! They even had the audacity to call it a goodwill gesture! This company would not know goodwill if it but them on the butt!!! They only agreed to replace when I asked if they were mis-selling as it said 2yr warranty all over their own site!! (this took over a month of emailing most days)The replacement was broken too-lid doesn’t open properly & when it does the inner part of the spout falls out.
Recently found out they make their products at BEKO factories(a budget brand) So save yourself some money a massive headache, when the product invariably breaks down, & don’t buy from them.
They also refuse to give their complaints process, which I think is actually illegal!!
Subpar Quality.
So, my C92GPX9 cooker is 3 years old. I initially thought I'd invest in a relatively good brand. I've had nothing but problems with the pyrolitic lock, I had to pay to unlock it, and the new motor will cost €200 to fix it. (I'm not fixing it). Now the fan in main oven has stopped working. I'm not fixing that either.
I've never been so disappointed in a brand, and Smeg were less than helpful.
€1,500 3 years old and it's falling to bits.
I absolutely love my SMEG C6IPMBM2…
I absolutely love my SMEG C6IPMBM2 range with induction cooktop. First, do your homework and always buy from a retailer who will service your appliance should something go wrong.
The things I love about the induction cooktop:
- the settings are not on the cooktop itself but are operated by dials, which I find to be much more reliable and easier to use
- the cooktop is not so "touchy" - you can sit something on it (while it's off) without it beeping constantly. So refreshing
- the racks for the oven are sturdy - it comes with two oven racks, a broiler pan and rack, and a telescoping arm kit which I am using on the center rack position.
- there is a probe that works like a charm and turns the oven off when your dish reaches the right internal temp.
- the broiler works great - in fact, all areas of the oven maintain the same temperature
I haven't bought a microwave since dishes seem to reheat in the oven so quickly.
Remember, you get what you pay for.
Beware of Smeg…
There should really be an option for not giving any stars. I purchased the Smeg FAB38 Refrigerator in March 2021 for $3800, delivered to me 5/20/21 and we moved into the house in July of that same year. About a week ago the refrigerator started making a knocking sound. After contacting smeg and speaking with the owner of the appliance store that I purchased it from I was told it was a faulty compressor. Due to Smeg’s abysmal warranty plan a new compressor is not covered so now I’m in another $855 just for the part. I finally found a repairman willing to work on a Smeg and was told today that it’s not worth fixing. The inverter needs to be replaced along with the converter and between labor and materials I’m looking at $1500-$2000. Smeg customer service has been horrendous…they’ve just stopped answering me. StayvawaybfroknSmeg products. 3 years of usage for an almost $4000 refrigerator is just unacceptable. I’m currently looking for others who have had a similar experience to see what possible options we would have taking a legal route. There has to be accountability for putting out such a poor product.

All the SMEG products are crap tbh. I have a fridge, washing machine, cooker and a dishwasher. Dishwasher broken after 6 months and no one responds from customer service. Fridge is constantly building the ice in it since the day one. Washing machine broken twice till date and I had to spend together 450 pounds to service from a third party service since the same above customer support issue. I don't recommend these products to anyone.

Went to their website to get a user manual, common stove sold in the UK, website directs you to a site in italy that just fails . Useless as their products are. that you should tell you everything. Garbage, garbage, garbage. rubbish, BS, charlatans.

I bought cooker with induction hob and the splashback with the Smeg logo is completely damage and rusty.
This is unacceptable for an extremely expensive cooker. The poor quality of this product is shocking and I regret so much for spending money with a horrible cooker.
I contact their customer support, they said that there is nothing they can do because I bought 5 years ago, when I replied saying that I was not happy they asked me for receipt and photo of the whole cooker. I spent 2 days trying to find the receipt, took a photo, video and days later they told me there is nothing they can do.
I had an issue with a blender as well, with horrible noise, liking liquids and they sent a new one.
I would never buy anything from Smeg again and don't recommend to anyone. Their product are stunning but with an awful quality.

After a 1 month of usage the machine stopped to froth the milk, i washed and cleaned all the parts but the problem persists. It is verry disappointing, as now i need to use an external milk frother to be able to drink cappucino, latte etc. I think that it is an manufactoring problem as I know at least 5 people that are facing the same situation.

I’ve been trying to reach Smeg USA’s customer service for nearly three months, and no one has ever picked up the phone. It seems like none of their departments are functioning. As someone who previously worked at an appliance store, I can confidently say that dealing with Smeg was always a nightmare. They are an irresponsible company. I have a minor question that should be easy to resolve, but it’s clear that this company is not operational. Avoid Smeg if you expect any level of customer support.
The D1262D Dishwasher has a dry assist…
The D1262D Dishwasher has a dry assist function which basically means the door pops open at the end of the cycle and all the steam comes out through the open door - this will absolutely ruin a wooden or melamine worktop!! It is also very dangerous!!
This function can be deactivated but then you have to wipe the dishes when you unload the machine - this machine is rubbish and not fit for purpose!!
Also getting any help out of the Smeg tech team a waste of time!
Smeg Retro Kettle Quality Issues
I bought a Smeg 1.7L Retro Kettle Black and a toaster from Hirschs in November 2022 - supposedly with a 2 year warranty. The toaster is fine but the Kettles black paint is falling off as well as the letters. For such an expensive product, it is really bad quality and not made to last very long. I am really disapointed as I love the look of it, when it wasnt falling apart.
Terrible customer service
Bought a bean to cup coffee machine less than 3 weeks ago. Barley used it and the milk frother is spraying water.
Given the amount of time I’ve had the appliance this is unacceptable. Contacted them for refund and their suggestion is repair.
I should not be having to have an item repaired after 3 weeks. Especially considering the amount I paid.

Poor service from Smeg, not impressed
We ‘treated’ ourselves to a Smeg fridge freezer as we believed it would be a top quality product and excellent service. However the first one delivered was faulty & after struggling to unpack and install it, the last thing we wanted was to return it but we had no choice. Smeg were unhelpful to deal with and AO sorted that out for us and with much reservation we ordered a replacement. This is ok but I applied for a cash back offer as this was bought in the time period of the offer and we have heard absolutely nothing, not even an acknowledgment. With hindsight never again, sadly a very bad experience.
