In 2002, SLR Hut’s founders began offering professional camera and camcorder equipment for sale locally in a retail store. Sales quickly expanded online and offerings were being made globally. Despite the extremely large consumer base that was built up since 2002, they noticed that most people around the world that are in the market for professional camera and camcorder equipment were not getting very good prices. These same products that our Founders were offering to their local market were being sold in the UK and other parts of the world at prices 20% - 40% higher due to manufacturers demanding MSRP pricing, enforced MAP policies with authorized retailers and currency exchange rates. The question was asked, why should consumers have to pay MSRP with such a high markup? Why can't we sell at wholesale price points to the general public? The answer was simple; WE CAN, and WE WILL. The burden of researching each corner of this global market was now placed onto their shoulders. Finally, they had figured it out, since the internet has made this world a smaller place to live and since e-commerce is a global playing field, we followed suit and quickly expand globally, from being one of our nation’s largest online supplier of consumer electronics, to being one of the world’s largest consumer electronics e-tailers. With our founders now focused in on the United Kingdom as their target market, SLRHut.co.uk was born and our brand, dedicated to a UK customer base began to build. We have massive warehouses which are always fully stocked, we also have close ties with manufacturers and distributors worldwide and are ready to fulfill your every need quickly and seamlessly.

Would never use again and definitely…
Would never use again and definitely wouldn't recommend!!!!! I placed an order for a complete camera kit and an additional lens which amounted to £1250.00. It was my first order with SLR. However, I can honestly say I am bitterly disappointed with the customer service I have received. Considering the item was being shipped to the UK I would have thought it would have come with a UK adapter but the camera was received with an American adapter which meant as I am in the UK I could not charge it. I ended up having to charge it using a shaving plug. However it did charge so I then emailed SLR regarding the matter. A brief of the emails and dates are as follows:
I sent an email highlighting the issue with the adapter and asked for a response from yourselves regarding this matter.
Two days later I received an email from SLR requesting that I call them and was given their telephone number
I tried calling daily (for 7 days) only to be met with hold music, answer phone messages and closed information. The final call I made on the 7th day I sat and listened to hold music for just over 1 hour!!!! at which point I gave up (I also add all these calls are at cost to myself after spending £1250 on my order)
I again emailed to highlight the telephone issue and left my contact telephone number for one of SLR's representatives to phone me regarding the matter.
Two days later I received an email from SLR (not a phone call) with an apology and was told a plug would be despatched immediately.
Nearly two weeks later I sent a further email requesting an update as I still had not received the plug.
Two days after this email I finally receive an reply that stated the plug has been despatched via USPS and was issued a tracking number which didn't actually work so I had no tracking system for the item.
4 days after the so-called dispatch date I sent another update request email asking specifically when the item was despatched so I would have a vague idea of when it would arrive.
Two days later I received a new tracking number for the item and an apology for the delays with the despatch. This tracking number did work so I was finally been to track my parcel and it finally arrived weeks after my first contact with the issue.
Having said all that in short, It took a month of emails ad calls to be told that a new plug would be sent out immediately and I was then told that it had been despatched (obviously not), told agin it was dispatched, 7 days after it had supposedly been despatched the first time!!! I really don't like to complain but I feel the customer service I have received over this matter was beyond awful, delayed responses, fobbed off (is how I feel) whereas a little truth and honesty would have gone a long way. It took 6 weeks of emails, calls, hold music and sheer perseverance to finally get this resolved and I feel I had no support from the SLR customer services team whatsoever. This is a high cost item to me and I would have expected a lot more with the service to be honest. To this day I still have not received an apology!!!!!
Avoid this company like the plague!
Avoid this company like the plague!
They sell grey stock without being upfront about it. Refuse reasonable requests for returns/refunds.
They also used pushy sales techniques after your initial order to up sell.
Was up-sold a battery group that was off brand & didn’t work properly. Camera was grey sick so couldn’t register with Canon for warranty.
Just avoid this business, it’s not worth the hassle.
Their customer service team are sarcy & unhelpful.
Will be happy to use again.
Hadn't had any experience with the company before. Always sceptical when parting with money over the net. However, the best price and the delivery time was bang on. Should they have what I need in the future at the right price? I won't hesitate next time. I made an enquiry as to the expected delivery time after the order, and they responded the next day. The item took around a week to arrive, well packaged. Cheers
Found this company to have the stock
Found this company to have the stock, post in time and actually pack it so it arrives in one piece - what more can i say
First class international service
First class international service. My order was sent from the USA to UK faster and at a better price than I could have sourced here in the UK. Communication was excellent, and everything arrived on the date that I chose, perfectly packaged.
Very impressed with SLR Hut, and happy to recommend these guys to anyone looking for photographic supplies.
American company. Beware terrible returns process
This company is not based In the UK. Yes they are cheap and I received my product with no isssue but! If you want to return it, have any issues you’re in a total mess. I informed them even before dispatch that I didn’t want the product. They still sent it. It’s taken me months of phone calls and emails to get even a proper return address. I had to pay for return which was £30. When they received it I had to phone them 3 times to get someone to ‘authorise’ my refund. By which point I’d paid interest to the credit card company another £20.

I ordered a Nikon D7500 with professional bundle. The camera is good and came with a lot of accessories but they were all made by Ultimaxx which cannot be classed as professional! They are good enough for me for now.
My order came from USA shipped by FedEx whose tracking suddenly stopped. I emailed Slrhut but never received a reply.
The camera is good, accessories ok but FedEx and Slrhut could be better.

The website has a .co.uk domain and a UK-based telephone number. However, once you start reading other reviews, you can see that they are a US-based company targeting the UK market. Once I discovered this, I emailed the company asking them to cancel the order.
As it was an expensive item (a camera) I wanted to have a UK guarantee should anything go wrong with it and be able to return to a UK address. Other reviews state that they ask you to return the item to a US address and I know from previous experience that sending expensive camera equipment insured within the UK is expensive.
I emailed them as soon as I discovered that they weren't UK-based asking them to cancel the order. I then got another email saying that a label for the shipment had been created and I again asked them to cancel this order.
I've now had notification that they've shipped the order after repeated attempts to cancel it. PayPal have taken my money and it will now be delivered.
I have had to open a dispute with PayPal as SLR Hut ignores any email you send them.
Imagine what would happen if you had an issue with your order?
As this is a US firm, you have no UK consumer protection and they abuse this to their advantage. You cannot return an order without considerably expense. You can't even cancel an order like you can under UK consumer protection.
UPDATE
I have received the camera and it is fine. Was brand new and sealed in box. I get the suspicion it was destined for the Canadian market. I've decided to keep the camera as it was just don't have the inclination to fight to return it. If you're happy that you're not getting UK products then go for it.
First time buyer
First time dealing with slrhut and will be ordering again shortly. Quick delivery time and items in perfect condition. Camera was ex demo so had slight concern. Shouldn't have.
Thank you slrhut
Although it has a .co.uk web address…
Although it has a .co.uk web address and what looks like a London 020 phone number, be warned this is not a UK company. They are based in the US and if you need to call them you have to wait till 2pm to do so.
I ordered a camera which took about a week to arrive from New Jersey (already annoying as I thought they were UK based) and then when I started to use the camera I discovered it was a 'grey import' meaning it has come from Asia and was region locked to only shoot in NTSC when I needed PAL. The option to switch between NTSC and PAL had been removed. I posted the camera back which took another week to get to them. They said they'd send me another one but then changed their minds and said they didn't have any in stock. I ended up asking for a refund so I didn't have to deal with them anymore but even that took over a week to process. They don't communicate well, don't respond to emails and don't call you when they say they will.
Also the credit card I used to purchase the camera was compromised and some fraudulent payments we made with it, so I had to raise a claim and get a new credit card. It has to be SLR Hut's poor security as the only other websites I'd used that credit card for were Amazon and eBay. I also noticed another review here which says their card was compromised as well so it is definitely an SLR Hut issue.
Non-delivery and ignoring our refund requests
We ordered a camera set on 22nd September, and paid for express delivery. By 26th Sept the camera had not arrived, so we chased as the tracking was not being updated. We emailed asking them to look in to this, but heard nothing. We chased FedEx ourselves who told us the parcel had been returned due to damage. As this was a birthday present and time had run out, we requested a refund from SLR Hut on 26th Sept.
29th Sept SLR Hut responded asking us if we would like a replacement.
We confirmed that we would like a REFUND, Since then, we have heard nothing, despite chasing by e-mail twice - they never answer the phone.
Now referred back to payment card issuer.
Misleading product, long delay, and frustrating experience
I placed my order (#294600) with SLR Hut on August 30, 2025, expecting a brand-new retail-packaged Fujifilm lens. It took three weeks for the order to arrive, and when it finally did, the lens looked used -there was visible dust, and the front cap looked older than the one I’ve used for over two years.
Customer support later said it was a “white box” lens (taken from a kit) but still new - something never mentioned on the product page. After several emails and phone calls, I finally received return instructions. I returned the lens, and it was delivered on October 4, 2025, but I received no confirmation and had to keep chasing with multiple emails before the refund was finally processed on October 9.
To make matters worse, my card details were compromised shortly after this purchase. I can’t confirm SLR Hut was responsible, but I hadn’t used that card anywhere else, which is concerning.
Although I eventually got my refund, the three-week delay, misleading product listing, poor communication, and stressful refund process made this one of my most disappointing online shopping experiences. I would urge others to be cautious ordering from SLR Hut.
A very mixed experience: the good was great, the bad was terrible
A very mixed experience, discouraging me from using them again.
The good:
1) price
2) support when I spoke to someone on the phone (although I shouldn't have needed to phone). The staff member was exceptionally good.
3) speed of dispatch when stock arrived
4) honoured the original price despite being out of stock
The ugly:
1) the booking process did not allow a distinction between the card users address and the delivery address (needed this delivered to my sister-in-law as were on hols). This created problems later. Bad IT.
2) all emails were simply ignored by SLRHut. This appears to be normal behaviour on their part, as reported by others (hence I needed to call). Poor customer service.
3) SLRHut were out of stock but there was no information supplied to suggest this. Therefore the original delivery date was missed without explanation. It took a phone call to establish what was happening. Poor customer service.
4) FedEx - how are they still in business???? They advised a delivery date, which my S-i-L moved her diary to meet, but they arrived days early. However, they went to the wrong house. We returned from holiday but I couldn't un-pick the delivery address - at the point of booking only my S-i-L address was quoted remember. It finally arrived a week late! No fault of SLRHut, other than they use an idiot courier.
Price isn't everything. Confidence in the service plus a belief that, should a problem arise later, you as the customer will be looked after. Next time I will pay a bit more and use my usual supplier.
Good service
Purchased was sent very quickly. Was as described. Very happy. Would purchase from again.
Thank you
The prices are real
I have been looking, waiting and researching, to purchase a DSLR camera for a while now. I looked at many website and went to many high street shops. I came across SLRhut on google, they had amazing prices. Low prices that seemed too good to be true, however. I took the risk and purchased the Canon EOS2000D camera with kit, it came with a bag and SD card. I am very happy with my purchase, it arrived on time and I was kept up to date daily.
Camera came no hassle
Ordered a canon camera I couldn't find elsewhere at a reasonable cost. It came within a few days
First Class Service, Highly Recommended
Items always delivered promptly and well packaged. Service is always courteous and helpful and staff knowledgeable about products.

Bought a Canon r10 with lots of accessories. Some issues with filters not fitting as they upgraded my lens choice. After a couple of calls sent me additional filters to fit new lens at no additional cost. Very accommodating. Thank you
Excellent service
Camera ordered arrived quicker than expected and was well packed.
The camera itself was a lot cheaper than most of the competition.
The battery charger was no of UK spec and when I pointed this out they sent me an adapter so no problem there.
There was also a missing battery cover from the video light which came as part of the bundle. I am waiting to hear that there is one on its way to me as I write.
