Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 130 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported significant dissatisfaction with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to engage with, often leading to unresolved issues and misinformation. Reviewers frequently encountered problems with product quality, including mattresses sagging, deforming, or having broken components, and some even received used items or products that did not match expectations. These issues, combined with high prices and unhonored warranties, left many feeling that the company did not stand behind its offerings. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with specific staff members, who were described as patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in assisting them with their purchases.

For a good night's sleep, buy a mattress anywhere else! I'm writing this expecting absolutely…

I'm writing this expecting absolutely nothing to change with this company, but I want people to know. Forget buying a mattress from this company! Its warranty is a joke! The warranty wordsalad is just to convince you to pay thousands of dollars for a mattress that SCC has ZERO intention to honour! Like it did to me and my sagging mattress I bought 8 years ago, well within the 10-year warranty. I'll never understand why companies would want to ruin themselves by not honouring what they charge for. Guess what? After being denied my warranty by SCC, my next mattress purchase is going to be the AMERICAN company, Costco. Because Costco HONOURS EVERYTHING IT SELLS! Hence its success! And Canadian companies can't understand why Canadians shop at American companies, like Walmart and online like Amazon. Get it, Sleep Country Canada? Better start doing the right thing before you end up the way of the Bay, Eaton's et al!

Best Customer Service I've Ever Received

Julie-Anne Lariviere and Kelly at the Daze Road location in Ottawa were amazing.
Julie-Anne spent well over an hour helping me find the right mattress. She was very patient and friendly and walked me through all the various options available.
When I came back to the store to actually make the purchase, Kelly Searson was very helpful and patient in finding me the perfect pillow along with all the other accessories.
Both Kelly and Julie-Anne are very customer service oriented and so nice to deal with. I just wish every store had people like them. It was a pleasure to deal with them A++++++++

FAKE CUSTOMER SUPPORT

They guys supplied me defective mattress which started decompressing and out of shape from the corners after 1 year. It lost the firmness after several months. Upon complaining they took too long and after 1 year of correspondence, they simply refuse by saying that mattress has stains. They didn't provide technical details of evaluation.

Sleep Country is a HORRIBLE company to…

Sleep Country is a HORRIBLE company to deal with.

We went to a store at the end of July to buy a new mattress,
but 1st I explained to the salesperson the problems we were
having with our current mattress which was almost 3 years old.
The saleslady advised us that there was a 10 years warranty on our
current mattress & to go through warranty.

We need a firm mattress & the salesman 3 years ago advised
us that this foam mattress was better then coil & was the best.
Like fools we believed him.

For the last year plus the mattress sinks into a big hole just like in
a hammock with 2 people on it, but according to Sleep Country
this is a ‘comfort’ issue & not a defect. They refused our claim!!
SERIOUSLY We bought a mattress for comfort & not a hammock.
I would like to know how trying to sleep in a big sink hole is comfortable.

The criteria they use is the mattress has to have a permanent
depression of more the 1.25 inches with no weight on the mattress.
BUT you put weight (2 bodies) on foam & it sinks deep. Remove the
weight & foam springs back to normal.

We had to suffer for an extra 2 months in this hammock, while
trying to negotiate a warranty claim to no avail. We finally
had to purchase a new mattress at The Brick. 5 nights in The
Brick mattress & it is 101% better, like night & day. After over
a year of not sleeping & being tired all the time, we both are well
rested & feel like new people.

We will never shop at Sleep Country ever again & we will spread the
word to everyone we know

We went to Sleep Country in Spruce…

We went to Sleep Country in Spruce Grove Alberta and talked with Juanita L... She knew we will only use / buy Tempur Pedic beds and fitted us with the Luxe Breeze King TXL Firm and soft mattresses as well as two Temper Ergo Pro Smart bases and a king size head board and base to fit the Tempur electric bases in so the mattresses dont move around.
Everything went very smoothly from the order to delivery and we want to also thank the two delivery guys who answered my questions and made sure everything was set up correctly for us.
Juanita L made sure we knew about the in store credit they had @ the time for buying the two Tempur electric bases so that gave us a $1500 in store credit once we had delivery and got us free sheets down quilt etc. Thank you Juanita for all your help and advice it was very much appreciated. And thank you for helping me find what I wanted with the $1500 credit we got for buying the two split king XL bases by Tempur Pedic.
Amazing bases and mattresses you get what you pay for and its nice to see the improvements in the tempur Pedic bases as we had a queen Tempur Pedic electric base from them from about 20 some odd years ago and it still works and we just gave it away to make someone else happy. Thank you Juanita L for all your help and advice you made it very painless to buy our new bed.

Deceive Customers About Item's Availability

""Backordered" becomes fraud when a seller accepts payment for an item they know they cannot fulfill, or when they deceive the customer about the item's availability or the seller's ability to deliver it."
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Sleep Country Canada.

Dealing with Sleep Country’s warranty…

Dealing with Sleep Country’s warranty claim process has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The company makes big promises about standing behind their products, but once you actually try to file a warranty claim, it becomes clear they have designed the process to discourage and delay rather than help customers.

The steps are unnecessarily complicated and every interaction feels like they’re looking for a way to deny responsibility instead of honouring the warranty. They demand photos and measurements multiple times, and even when you provide exactly what they ask for, they come back with excuses.

It feels like the burden is entirely on the customer, with zero accountability on Sleep Country’s end. What should be a straightforward process becomes a drawn-out, stressful ordeal that leaves you regretting ever buying from them.

A warranty is supposed to give peace of mind. With Sleep Country, it’s just an empty promise. I would strongly recommend avoiding them if you expect fair treatment.

Total scam

Total scam, don’t put down any sort of deposit. They don’t allow you to return mattresses even if they have not been opened and are in their original unopened packages. Even though the website says 30 day return on unopened merchandise . It’s a total sales scam, do yourself a favour and go to the brick or anywhere else.

Dishonest 100 night sleep guarantee…

Dishonest 100 night sleep guarantee with defective mattress
- Kingsdown purchased, noticed issues with back pain within a few weeks, but decided to wait & see if issue would resolve, as had been told that it takes a couple months to really adjust to a new mattress.
- But on day 42 called customer service & they suggested initiating warranty exchange because of possible defect. When measured, had a 1"+ slouch.
- on day 37, received email that I could receive a replacement of the same model.
- I asked if this same model replacement does not work, would I be able to exchange for another model within the initial 100 day guarantee.
- Customer service said no because I should have detected & notified them of a problem within 21 to 30 days (where is this specified when you purchase??).
-And if they sent a replacement kingsdown there wouldn't be enough time to try it out before the initial 100 days expired. But I have 37 days left (or arguably, 42 days left)!
- so my only option was to accept a replacement OR get a different model, & no exchanges would be permitted (unless another defect was found & fell within their definition of a defect)

I rarely submit negative reviews, but this one was necessary.

Feel cheated

Buyer Beware: Refund Policy is a Joke

If I could give a zero rating I would. Ordering online is always a gamble if you do not have access what the actual product is going to be like before you receive it. I recently ordered/purchased 2 pillows and pillow cases. The firmness of the pillows was not what I was expecting after opening the package they came in. When I phoned customer service to initiate a return I was informed that if I had opened the package and physically touched the item it was ineligible for a return or refund. Anyone ordering online needs to be aware the second you unwrap or take the item out of the bag it becomes non-returnable. End of discussion. The only way you can return an item is if it is "unopened". If you never open the product how do you what it is like or if it is satisfactory? I can't think of any other business that disallows a return for simply taking the product out of its container to inspect it? I would never recommend shopping at Sleep Country online. I would not recommend any product they sell. I will never set foot in any of their stores. Very disappointed and dissatisfied with their lack of customer service.

Just like everyone else, it is a scam

Just like everyone else, this is the perfect scam. Sleep Country sells a mattress with a warranty, then when you have a defect they put you through the most laborious process to try and make a claim. It's a loss of sleep, and dignity. They all blame Priority One, the company who is responsible for these warranties. Awful service, nowhere to turn. Truly a scam, and shock for a Canadian company who is in a leadership position.

Disappointed long term customer

I have been a customer for 20 years. Recently I spent approx $850
and was provided wrong sizing information from the sleep experts in the online chat several times. They even kept giving me wrong pricing and I had to correct them. I tried to reach out to a manger so I can explain my experience so that other people do not get taken advantage of and no one ever called. I sent 3 emails in the past few weeks. For the money they charge, they certainly don’t care about customer service or about having properly trained staff. They provide wrong info then don’t let you return items if you open them and realize they misled you. I also tried to write in and advise them that their site has wrong measurements and I was told they can’t control that as manufacturers are all different?! So very disappointed in how this company conducts business and takes advantage of people.
