Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 130 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported significant dissatisfaction with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to engage with, often leading to unresolved issues and misinformation. Reviewers frequently encountered problems with product quality, including mattresses sagging, deforming, or having broken components, and some even received used items or products that did not match expectations. These issues, combined with high prices and unhonored warranties, left many feeling that the company did not stand behind its offerings. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with specific staff members, who were described as patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in assisting them with their purchases.

Sleep country is all about sales but…

Sleep country is all about sales but unable to satisfy customer when warranty issues need to addressed.
My original purchase was replaced and turned out be used which was unacceptable. Our backs paid the price. Called warranty dept and followed proceedure and never got further than level 3 of 5. They are a nightmare to deal with and the cost to date was 2600$ and have to buy again ..but not from these crooks.

Extremely Poor and Lazy Customer Service

My elderly aunt purchased a Casper bed/pillows etc. 2.5 years ago. I have to say that the service was top notch at the time. The salesperson was very knowledgeable, polite and went over and above to assist my aunt in making a final decision on her purchase (Alex). She has been very happy with the bed until about 7-8 months ago! During this period we have contacted customer service multiple times to see if they could send a technician out to her retirement home in Markham….. to no avail!
My aunt is a 89 year old senior, barely ambulatory, and she was advised each time, along with several pages of instructions to basically fix the problem herself, and that Sleep Country Canada would not be sending out a technician. She has a 10 year warranty on the bed base and wants to call it. She has also been sent a package containing a new remote control without really knowing what the problem is, which has largely been ignored by her.
As her niece, I am shocked and dismayed that a company with the ‘supposed good reputation’ like SCC, ignores customer requests. My aunt purchased a large and expensive ticket item from your store, and now cannot receive the help that she needs! It has certainly changed my opinion of this company, and I now know not to purchase anything from SCC. My aunt now has many sleepless nights, as the bed cannot be adjusted and there is no-one to help. We are at the point now where we believe this issue will never be resolved!
Shame on you SCC!

ZERO STARS!

If I could, I would give them ZERO stars. We purchased an Optimum king size mattress for our RV in 2016 for over $2,000 which started seriously failing after about 8 years. In 2015, we began to attempt a claim under the 10-year full warranty. Because of winter storage, we couldn't provide the pictures they requested until this spring. After completing the forms and sending the pictures, I was on the phone with them several times, because every time I sent more pictures, I got another email saying it wasn't enough. Every time I called, I got more excuses. Then they wanted me to pay for someone to look at the mattress! The pictures were very clear that the mattress was sagging badly, but otherwise pristine. We had previously bought 5 [queen] mattresses and box springs from them, and were not expecting this kind of aggravation. Obviously they don't value loyal customers. The mattress has become so awful that we purchased elsewhere to replace it, and this useless piece is on its way to the dump. Yes, we finally said forget it, which is exactly what they wanted, but it just wasn't worth it. Looking at these reviews, they shouldn't even be in business, but who knew. The people in the stores are nice, but buyer beware! I wish these reviews would have been available when we bought our first mattress there.

Paid high price for a damaged mattres

Honestly, this is probably my fault after being sleep deprived and stressed from the previous terrible mattress and travel. I purchased a mattress that someone else had returned and supposedly received a reduced rate but the mattress had stains. It was part of the 100 days return, and I had returned the old mattress and exchanged for this one. I reported the stains to sleep country after delivery but they said they couldnt do anything about it until the delivery folks were back at the warehouse. I though you know what, whatever this mattress is comfortable and I can finally sleep, plus I still had travel to do. Months later, I’m cleaning my mattress cover and discover more stains at the bottom where my feet are (because I didn’t want to sleep on that side). I suspect there were multiple stains initially and oxidized with time and they have all re-appeared. The salesperson sold the mattress to me for at least 2000$. The principle of it angers me but at least I can sleep and decide to forget it. That said, i’m never going back again for my next purchase.

$4,226 nightmare - still unresolved

8 months fighting for a defective $1,830 mattress. Zero resolution.
Bought a $4,226 sleep system from Sleep Country. Mattress sagged within 6 months. $99 "protection plan" covers nothing - they don't tell you this at purchase.
32+ emails. 8+ employees. Store → Customer Service → Store. Everyone says "not my department."
Their Team Lead admitted IN WRITING they only follow Alberta consumer law "through a BBB claim or courts."
A company that admits it ignores the law unless forced doesn't deserve your money.
10+ year customer. Never again.

Scam

I ordered and paid for a brand-new mattress. Sleep Country failed to deliver a brand new mattress and instead twice attempted to deliver mattresses covered in yellow and black stains. I refused to accept them. I then requested a refund when it was apparent they were not going to be providing the brand-new product I had paid for. They then stated they will not give me my money back. I have no mattress and no money. It is a scam organization.

Avoind Sleep Country Canada like the…

Avoid Sleep Country Canada like the Hantavirus!!!!

Delivered the wrong mattress. We bought a double pillow top flippable they devliered a double pillow top non-flippable. We didn't realize until we filpped mattress and realized they got the factory to sew a pillow top on the bottom of a non-flippable mattress. The Manager said he would get the factory to make one - at that point they were on the end of the run of the old double pillow top filppable.

They did nothing!!

I just wrote the new President years later again. NO response to even hear my concerns.

The are the worst in the mattress industry. Stay far from them if you want to get a restful sleep.

We didn't sleep well for 10 years!!

The delivery man on April 22

The delivery man on April 22, 26 damaged my railing by literally bracing the new mattress against the railing and causing it to fall over from the foundation. Contacted Sleep country since April 23, 2026 with no resolution. Should I file a claim in Ottawa Small Claim Court.

My company did warranty work for Sleep Country Canada. They are over 1.5 months delinquent on payment and will not respond to multiple requests for payment. The person who requested the work will not return phone calls. Basically they have skipped out on paying a vendor for services. Will never buy from them and will never again do work for them.

Avoid This Mattress Store

Purchased a very expensive mattress from Sleep Country in 2015. The mattress cover ripped off, it is lop sided now, not firm any more. Could not figure out why my back has been killing me. Then I looked at my mattress. One sinks down, the mattress has split. I contacted customer service sorry nothing we can do. Did not even ask for pictures, or send someone over to look at at.. I paid $1400 for a mattress and box spring. I could see it if I purchased a cheap mattress, I did not. They even sold me a sheet set. I asked the guy if it would fit the mattress, he said yes. It did not, It was made for a thinner mattress. Avoid Sleep Country, they sell defective mattresses.

10-Year Warranty Didn’t Hold Up After 5 Years

Very disappointing experience with Sleep Country Canada.

I bought a high-end mattress with a 10-year warranty, but after only five years my claim was denied based on an alleged “stain,” which does not reflect the mattress condition as I see it. After the rejection, I offered to have a representative inspect it in person—no response.

A warranty should provide peace of mind. In my case, it didn’t

Do not buy from Sleep Country

I've bought from Sleep Country for over 20 yrs.
Last purchase however was dreadful.
That don't tell you the sleep guarantee gets you only one more chance.
If the bed choosen doesn't work for you, you can get a 3rd if you sign off.
Bottom line is the sales people should be experienced enough that the correct choice is made.
My wife and I are stuck with a king and queen Sealy posterpedic worth $6500 that are brutal for sleeping on.
Sore back every day.
The warranty is a joke but we are certainly not laughing.
Do not buy!!!

Open your store when you are supposed to.

I drove all the way to the Langley store from Surrey. Took a day off work. Hours say they open at 10 - sat there til 10:30 - no one comes to open up. Another person left as we were both standing outside. I drove all the way home - with the price of gas now - not happy. Called them before 11 and they were finally open. Said there was a scheduling mix up! I will not go back. And I have bought 2 beds there. I wanted to buy a bed today. They lost out on a couple thousand dollar sale from me.

Trapped in a misleading "system" with zero support

Trapped in a misleading "system" with zero support.
"I am extremely dissatisfied with my recent purchase of an adjustable base and split mattress from Sleep Country. The sales process lacked transparency and felt inherently misleading. After finding our initial mattress uncomfortable, I was shocked to find no compatible exchange options at our original price point.
To avoid spending thousands more, I was forced to pay an extra $300 for a pre-owned/returned mattress, which came with a 'Final Sale' agreement. I am now stuck with a mattress that doesn’t meet my needs and zero recourse. I was never warned that this expensive base would lock me into such a limited and costly ecosystem. I expected better from their reputation, but I will not be returning and cannot recommend them to others."

Bought a Bloom pillow

Bought a Bloom pillow. Some weird thing shipped to me nothing like my other Bloom pillow. Said they wouldn't take it back out of packaging. Won't buy from them again. Even if they are a Canadian company the stuff arrived having been made in China anyway. Going to keep buying from Fawcett and Lapensee as they never ripped me off.

Wrong product clearly shipped; as looks nothing like the Bloom pillow I already have. Bought a $100 review but the pillow isn't a Bloom pillow even if it's in a Bloom box.

Catch 22

They sold us $150 mattress topper that did not fit a standard queen mattress. They would not accept a return because they said the packaging was open. "How else would we know it did not fit?", I asked them. We are confident in our dimensions was the reply. NEVER shopping there again!
