Takes no responsibility when it goes wrong

My son paid extra for early flight. Because of a bus that didn’t work the transfer took 7 hours more than expected. Skivenue refuses to pay any compensation for arriving more than six hours late (as they claim is the magic limit for when the delay is a substantial inconvenience) to the destination. They are wrongly claiming that the delay was much shorter than it was and are recommending we resolve this matter with a “third party”. This is not serious!
On the positive side: at least they respond to our emails. I hope they realize their handling of the case is a mistake and will recognize it themselves before we have to take their advice and go to ARN or another third party.

Hello Alex,

Thank you for your review.

I'm sorry to hear that your son's transfer bus was delayed. Since you're only referred to as "Alex," I'm unable to find your son's booking and therefore cannot verify the review.

Based on what you've written, I believe I understand the situation. The transfer was delayed, but not enough for us to provide compensation. The notion of 6 hours being a magical threshold is not accurate; it's a threshold determined by Pakkerejseloven. It's after 6 hours that the journey might start to be affected by the delay. In this case, the journey hasn't been impacted by the delay. You've received 6 days of skiing, accommodation for 7 days, flights, and transfers.

We've noted the departure and arrival times of the transfer bus, which we use to calculate the delay. As we've likely explained via email, you're welcome to involve a third party to assist us in determining this if you're unsatisfied with our assessment.

Super fun and recommended

The whole trip was very cool. Buses were fine and the accomodation super conveniencefor both, the village and the ski lift. Events and parties were fun, in my case I took ski lessons and the picnic/barbacue was at the same time of the lesson, so I missed it. It is understadable but could be nice to consider next time.

Hi Lorenzo,

Thank you for your review!

I'm glad to hear that the trip overall was nice!

I will take a note on that so we can inform next time if the ski school is the same time as our BBQ :)

8.5/10 Skitur

A well organized trip and the planned activities were fun and easy to find in the slopes. It is a shame that the dates for the ski passes were booked on the wrong days for the late bus so the free extra day was eventually wasted. Additionally, it would be nice of SkiVenue to give a list of all the places where the årmband gives a discount because I feel like I missed out on those.

Hello Genton,

Thank you for your review; I'm glad to hear that overall it's been a good trip. Regarding the skipasses, it was a mistake from the skipass office to have them set up that way for the early buses. You should have received the ski pass that you paid for.

I'll take your comment about the wristband forward; it's definitely something we can improve on!

Language barrier

Hi! I was one of the few international people participating for the trip. I really enjoyed and I think that most was nicely organized, amazing job!
But the reason why my low review is that talking with the non-danish speakers we would have appreciated some more comunication in english (website is in danish, emails are always in danish, ig-posts and communications are also in danish. The tour organized on the slope I also had to ask for some english translation as I was lost haha). So I would be a little more considerate regarding this :)
Other than that, amazing experience!

Hello Caterina,

Thank you for your review!

I appreciate your honesty regarding the language barrier. I'm sorry you encountered this along the way, but I must also acknowledge that we are a Scandinavian company. However, we generally don't have an issue switching to English.

Regarding the PF ski trip, I will bring this up for consideration next year if we need to do more in English to be more inclusive.

I hope you'll give us another chance next year!

Stole my money

Asked to cancel my booking but they told me the deadline was 12 hours before, even if the event was 4 months later and the registration was still open (it opened 3 days before). They stole 2000 DKK.

Hello Alessio,

Thank you for your review.

I'm sorry to hear that you're accusing us of stealing your money. That's something we absolutely don't recognize. You're correct that, according to our cancellation policy, which you have accepted, unfortunately, you canceled too late, resulting in the loss of your deposit.

In our email correspondence with you, we have also provided you with many options to avoid losing this amount without fees.

We understand your frustration, but we would recommend that next time you book a trip, you consider purchasing cancellation insurance to avoid these situations.

Be careful to book a trip with…

Be careful to book a trip with SkiVenue. My daughter has booked her ski trip to Val Thorens, arriving on the 18th of February 2023. When she arrived she was requested to deposit EUR 600. She got a room at Eskival. Except the room, she got mold, dirt, dust and probably bed bugs. She directly reached out to represent from SkiVenue, the same person who made her pay the deposit with a request to change the room. His answer was: "It's your problem. Do not bother me" and he left.

Yes you came and left. The mold and bugs stayed. You did not take the responsibility as you should, you did not offer a new fresh room.
As for deposit, Eskival confirmed they have refunded the funds the very same moment we checked out. What is the reason for you keeping the deposit 3 more weeks?

Hi Eva,

Thank you for your feedback.

It is true that the deposit is 150€ per person (600€ for 4 persons in one apartment). We inform about this before the trip.
It is not okay that the room is not clean. The cleaning team came the same night 18/02 to clean and we apologize for any inconvenience about this. Our represents in resort are there to help - we don't talk like this to our guests :-)

If you need anything please call us.

Hello again,

That is not true. We tried to contact your daughter and the other girls in the room multiple times during the week to see everything is okay. But every time we were told that we were not welcome in the apartment. We have offered you 500 SEK in compensation.

As for the security deposit - it is not us that we/Skivenue are keeping it. The agencies handle every security deposit directly with our clients. After they refund it last saturday 25/02 there will be a delay before the transaction is done and the money are available. For most cases you can see a "releasedate" on the transaction. The date depends on bank and card-type. In this matter we also inform you about this before the trip.

If there is anything else I think it's easier for you to call us directly.
