Absolutely abhorrent company, GO ELSEWHERE.

Courier had “misplaced” one of the packages (despite being 3m long) and because SkirtingBoards.com couldn’t make a claim against them, have told me that they won’t be sending replacement boards or any form of partial refund. Just happy for £360+ of goods to disappear with no recourse to anyone.

Customer service has been non-existent, I’m constantly told I’d be updated but have to call daily myself. It’s basically concluded that nothing will be done, and that’s that. I also suspect that James is the only person in the company given he happens to answer the 3 different phone numbers the company holds. Suspect.

Basically, they’re cheap and you get what you pay for. A terrible service and in this case, completely out of pocket.

If i could give this company Zero stars i would. Placed an order with the company and have been fobbed off about delivery. Have been promised the goods on 2 occasions now and still not arrived. The Sales Director is full of BS and very unhelpful.
USE ANOTHER COMPANY.

Ordered 15m oak skirting and archtraving for two doors for a bedroom project. Had a really helpful conversation with James. I was tremedously impressed both the the board themselves and the obvious care that went into their packing for shipping. The finished project looks great too.

My wife and I ordered some Victorian skirting boards from Shen Group Ltd, and were most impressed with the courteous, efficient customer care. We are delighted with the quality of the boards. Very pleased with the quality of the skirting and arch. I ordered enough to do the first room and then onto the rest of the house. Lengths are long and consistent quality throughout.

Clearly get what you pay for, considering what I've received elsewhere beforehand. Buy smart!

It pains me to hear silly stories about my reliable and honest suppliers - particularly when it couldn't be farther from the truth. We've been asked to tell you how about our experiences, so here it is.

We fit out HUGE and famous retail outlets in the centre of London, and have used skirtingboards.com for years in doing so. Most things are custom made, they are fantastic quality and cater for each of our requirements.

Of course there can be delays on occasion - but these have always been down to the courier - anyone worth their salt knows that couriers are the bain of society, but a necessary evil - and without them we'd never get anything anywhere - BUT they often get stuck in traffic, on motorways, in floods, in events or whatever, because they travel all over the country to get wherever they are going.

As for the products - you can't fault the products, quality, finish and range. Don't go 'cheap' as you'll be left £££s out of pocket when these copycats don't front with the quality of goods they promise and you end up buying it twice!

Trust those who have been in the business and know what they're doing.

Skirting boards.com - unreasonable, rude and really poor service...

I ordered The Cardiff profile and received something entirely different. This company will not accept that they are in the wrong. I appreciate that mistakes happen but to be treated this way is completely out of order....

Just had the worst customer service I have ever experienced from any company. I am mortified by the way I was dealt with. I have been waiting over two weeks for a resolution. I have had to chase them directly to speak to some one with the promise of phone calls back. Not one call back. The most senior person at the time spoke to me with contempt today (after I phoned them again ) and he couldn't wait to get off the phone with me as he didn't even care that the problem was holding up a renovation.

I have emailed pictures and shown comparisons which clearly show they have sent me the wrong skirting boards.

The man in particular made some very rude comments that the profiles shown on the website are " not CAD drawings" really belittling my request to sort this out. I asked twice to revisit the profile that I ordered and he refused giving me some waffle that they sent out what I ordered originally ( a different profile may I add)

I also asked to speak/ email the managing director, which I was abruptly told that I could get the info from Google??? Bear in mind I was already speaking to a person who apparently worked for the company and couldn't be bothered to tell me any information.

The company's reputation is in the hands of the in individual. Awful person. Awful business practice.

I now know that skirting boards.com do not care.

So many timber suppliers over promise and under deliver, but ShenSmith are honest about when they are able to deliver - don't fall for loose and lofty promises made by others if you don't want to be let down!

The best I have experienced with online sales

Great choice of profiles, delivered quickly and were better quality than local suppliers etc.

I was able to find the skirting boards I was looking for quickly and the delivery and execution were great. Would use again.
