SIXT: ladri con partita iva Malpensa-Fiumicino
A3 Sedan dal 2020 targa GN508PD TRUFFATORI CRONICI SIXT
Malpensa-Fiumicino
June 2025 I received a new letter…
I wish I read this before renting. It looks like I have the same problem as hundreds of customers around the world. They want to charge me over 1000 euros for preexisting damages. I tried to reach the company by phone or mail with no success. They never responded. After almost 2 years they mailed me another letter.
I think if everybody gets together against this scammer company with the laws can get some results and get justice.
They want me to pay an inflated estimate for fixing preexisting scratches. Never sent a paid invoice for fixing those damages that I supposedly did.
I am going to deposit all the information I have to Guardia di Finanza in Italy (financial police) and also going to the press- newspapers to denounce the Sixt rentals misleading unprofessional practices.
Fraudsters charge a deposit of 500…
Fraudsters charge a deposit of 500 euros, additional hidden fees, substitute a damaged car, falsify a report and accuse you of damage, do not return the deposit to the contact
WARNING
WARNING: Scam at Sixt Montenegro Airport!
Terrible experience! They tried to charge me for pre-existing damage and keep my deposit. The car already had visible damage when I picked it up, which I reported, but at drop-off, they falsely blamed me for it. Pure scam!
Rude staff, zero customer service, and a clear attempt to rip off customers. Avoid this place at all costs—rent from a more honest company!
Biggest Scam! AVOID at all costs!
I prepaid via Trip.com for EVERYTHING including insurance. Then I got charged extra for more than double! With the final price charged, we could have rented a super car! Despite our dispute, finally, never got the money back.
I also got the car model at lower grade than what I booked which was supposed to cost a lot less. Finally, Trip.com took responsibility to give us some credits while SIXT did nothing.
SIXT Italy charged for gas and fee, which I returned the car with even more gas than when I received the car. I had to dispute, show evidences and it took a long time to get a refund.
Any phone assistance: run away !
If you want to rent from an agency that never answers the phone when you need assistance, take Sixt. Otherwise, run away! Two emails and three telephone messages without response, we understand that they do not want to be bothered by customers who had the incredible idea of renting a car from them!!
Terrible service
Terrible service. As I was leaving the parking lot I skidded into a parked car in the parking lot. Sixt were completely unhelpful and telling what I needed to do to get this logged. The paperwork in the car was out of date with an invalid insurance policy. The staff are rude on the phone and very unhelpful.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!
Avoid this company at all cost!!!! COMPLETE SCAM.
Just like another person who has written a review here, i have been ripped off by this company. I hired a vehicle in the Uk at Stansted Airport. When i returned the vehicle it was checked over and was told "all good with car" and asked to sign his ipad. A day later i get an email with photos that i had scratched the front end to the value of 979.86 GBP which was the supposed cost to rectify.
I would just say that on inspecting the car next day in daylight hours, as i collected it in the dark and the car was black, i was absolutely appalled at the phenomenal amount of damage to the bodywork, not to mention the state of the alloy wheels. It made me question whether the car was actually roadworthy. Fortunately this proved ok. I did receive an email the day after pickup which listed some 26 issues with the vehicles bodywork!! If they are raking in this kind of money for every supposed scratch or dent whilst in a customer's care, God knows how much money they are scamming out of people. NEVER AGAIN!!!!
Avoid
I had an unfortunate experience where I needed help with an issue during the hire of the car. . Despite being contacted by the manager of the branch after the hire of the vehicle, who promised to resolve the issue if I emailed the details, guess what? I haven’t heard a thing. Having spent £1000 in 12 months with SIXT I will be going elsewhere for my rentals and encourage you to do the same
Sixt Venice
Sixt Venice: I like Sixt because generally the cars are germanic. However I have been brutally ripped off in Venice to the tune of €1100. I had no accident, no scratch etc but the charming chap that checked out the vehicle smiled at me, said everything was fine (as I expected) and got me to sign on the iPad. 3 weeks later I get a bill. This is disgraceful practice. I acknowledge that the companies make more money on fictitious scratches than the care hire itself but they should be transparent: these guys are on a commission for finding non existent problems with the vehicle. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
Never sign their blank screen
I signed a blank screen being told I was just signing to take possession of the car. My signature was later shown to me in a document that I had not seen. This 'proved' that I had agreed to upgrades. Over £600 charged to my card in addition to rental already paid to Easyjet. My bank could not defend as they 'had' my signature. Never sign a blank screen. I will never use or recommend SiXT again. The worst rental experience I have had.
UPDATE:
Looking at customer experience across multiple countries, it's incredible to see how many people have had the same experience. One from Portugal:
"UPDATE - Sixt have now presented us with some paperwork we apparently signed. The only thing signed at the time was to give a signature on an electronic pad to confirm collection of the vehicle. It appears this signature has been used to autofill a contract with extra insurance charges. They even had a made up email address next to where we apparently signed! They have also come up with (in the words of a past reviewer) some drivel as to these charges being explained to us at the time and us accepting them. Absolute complete lies and a scam outfit. AVOID!"
Double rental charges
This review is regarding rental charges. They promote to accept debit cards but in fact they have incorrect operational policies about debit cards. You provided your personal data and they charge you double times. At first they reserve the total amount rental fee+deposit on your card and upon completion of rental and returning the car they charge you the rental fees and “release” the deposit so that you are double charged the rental fees and get back the deposit amount only. Then they respond by it’s a bank issue. Poor customer service.
Best car rental experience in my 30 years as frequent traveller
Hugely dissapointed by my previous preferred brand (Avis) I changed to Sixt.
They have highly optimised processes (especially for returning the car), they follow up on customer satisfaction, during and after rental.
Absolutely happy with the change from Avis (0-star) to Sixt (5-star) experience.
The next rental is already booked.
Hire once, get charged three times...
I rented a hatchback in Italy in August 2024 for 10 days. I paid for the hire with a voucher from a UK online company, which was accepted. The car was returned without any problem or extra charges incurred.
Six weeks later a deduction from the full cost of the hire was deducted by Sixt from my card.
My bank in the UK looked into the matter and said they regarded the deduction as fraudulent. (The bank compensated me at that point).
Sixt were unable to explain the second charge. The invoice they produced confirmed that there was no additional payment required. A refund was therefore expected. None was forthcoming.
Three weeks later I received a debt collector demand (with additional charges) from Germany (c/o Sixt head office) for the same amount. A THIRD payment for one hire - each around £620 / E725!
If you want to spend many hours on the phone trying to sort out something like this, or are happy to be repeatedly charged for no reason whatsoever, then Sixt might be the company for you.
Otherwise, avoid it like the plague. I know I will.
they kept my money
Although I had paid in advance, including full excess cover, they did not give me the car and kept my money! A disgrace to Italy!
Totally avoid Sixt.it or Sixt in general
Totally avoid Sixt, especially in Italy area. Completely scam.
The staff are scam and tricking (I would say force) you to opt in the highest protection grade, otherwise you are not getting your car.
The company even charge me for one way fee and protection fee (which I shall be benefit when I booked via Amex Travel under their T&C). And Sixt said no, this is something between me and Sixt, rather then a dispute between themselves.
All in all, complete rip off, scam, tricking/forcing customer to pay for highest protection. Never gonna go with Sixt again.
A total scam!!
The car was fine, but the rest was a total rip-off!!!
I have travelled extensively over the past 30+ years, both for business and leisure. In the process I have rented hundreds and hundreds of cars – in other words: I do know the game! And: in all this time, I only had a similar issue once – this is the second time … That said, this is how the rip-off works:
- When picking up the car, a station agent offered an option where ‘we refuel the car for you at about 2 Euros per liter if it’s not completely fuel in case you don't have enough time to fuel up’ – which sounded very reasonable. What happened: I was charged a full tank (prepaid fuel option!) despite bringing the car back full anyways ... And, no there was NEVER any mention of me having to pay for the full tank!!
o There is usually a fixed airport fee, but I have NEVER seen a ‘premium location fee’ (of 22%!) anywhere else on this planet – what’s worse: it’s added not only to the rental fee but also to the insurance premium and gas – absolutely RIDICULOUS!!
o What’s more, I had booked through a 3rd party provider (QEED) under the condition of ‘all fees included’ – so who was lying here to whom: SIXT to the 3rd party provider? Or the 3rd party provider to me?
o And then we ended up returning the car 2h later than planned (our bad) - surprise: we were not only charged an extra day of rental fee but also a late fee equivalent to a daily fee ….
Bottomline:
- Thanks to SIXT's ‘creative’ rip-off and fee approach and very limited flexibility I ended up paying about double of what I had expected!
- I will certainly never rent with SIXT or through that 3rd party provider ever again – there are enough choices …
Be aware: Sixt charged Me Unexpectedly After Rental- a Complete Scam!
I recently rented a car from Sixt through Booking.com for two weeks, with full insurance paid directly to Sixt at Cagliari Airport. However, three weeks after returning the vehicle on 17/09, I was unexpectedly charged €54.34 without any explanation or prior notice.
I have been renting cars for nearly ten years and have never experienced such poor service. The lack of communication and transparency from Sixt has been incredibly disappointing. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company, as this experience feels like a total scam. Their business practices are questionable, and I urge caution when dealing with them.
Worst rental experience of my life
Worst rental experience of my life. Avoid totally renting a car with SIXT in particular at Philadelphia Airport. Likely they cancel your reservation at check-in desk and they are not collaborative at all. Opt for Avis or Turo that are way better.
They cancelled with an e-mail a booking…
They cancelled with an e-mail a booking of a van made more than a month ago a week before the day of the rental (among other things, business rental, therefore on behalf of another company) is unacceptable and unprofessional, both towards me, who had to find an alternative solution urgently and quickly, and towards our company.
Moreover, after having called their number three times, and after three times the operator ended my call while ‘I was waiting’ to be put on the line with an operator from their head office in Milano Centrale, and even after having had their number given to me directly so that I could call them personally to resolve the issue, I was told that the Monza fleet was available (we're in the centre of Milan, so very inconvenient to get there and back) and that there was no reason why our booking had been cancelled other than for ‘lack of means’. Personally, I don't feel up to relying on their service again.
35€ charged without explanation
Was charged almost a month after returning the vehicle of additional 35€ without any information from Sixt on the nature of that expense. No email, no information in my account page on the Sixt website. Feels like a robery.
