We used Simply for our loft extension and the builders appointed were Made by Metos. We are very happy with the result. Igli and the team worked really hard, to a high standard and proposed really ingenious solutions to any problems that came up ( we have an unusual house). They consulted with us at every step and were particularly sensitive to the fact we had a small child who didn’t like too much noise. We would definitely work with them again and would recommend them without hesitation

We contacted Simply Extend as we had been recommended by a friend and were very impressed after seeing their wrap around extension. From start to finish both Simply and my project manger were on hand to answer any questions I had and kept me up to date with all stages of the project which was completed on time and to an excellent standard. I would definitely recommend

No complaints on the build, as others say they subcontract the actual build out but I can't say we had any major issues here albiet a bit more control over the subcontractors would be ideal.

Our issues have arisen post build in trying to get teh subcontractor to reply to us on issues. After a while of trying we eventually got an escalation and the root cause of a damp issue resolved but have since struggled to get any reply from the subcontractor and simply also don't seem to be able to get a reply.

We engaged with Simply for the construction of a rear extension in our home. The build was to create an open plan kitchen, living and dining area and the Simply team were extremely helpful and understood the brief from the very beginning.
We initially met with the surveyor who put together a very detailed specification highlighting all parts of the build. This made it a very smooth process when handed over to the contractors.

We were lucky enough to have Nik and his team at Albes to oversee our project for a side return and kitchen extension. The project was done super efficiently and to a good enough standard so that by the end of it there was barely anything on the snag list to do. Very happy with the end result.

I just wanted to leave some feedback for Simply and the team. From the very he understood exactly what I was trying to achieve, I was looking to move as quickly as possible which he enabled, and the guys worked incredibly hard. They also had me complicating elements by doing a lot of work myself which they not only facilitated, but also provided really useful advice and help throughout. Great communication and I knew exactly what was going on and when, I am really happy with the finished product and would definitely work with Simply again.

Simply Extend undertook a side-return kitchen extension and ground floor renovation project for us, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. From start to finish, the team demonstrated exceptional dedication and professionalism.

Their build team led by Nick approached every challenge with a positive attitude and were proactive in exploring various solutions to achieve the desired outcomes.

All in all, my experience was a positive one, and I would definitely use them again.

We engaged Simply to create a completely open plan ground floor, which meant pushing out and rebuilding an extension. A great service from start to finish. The initial consultation was helpful and useful. The actual construction team were excellent. The project manager was communicative and helpful. The team onsite were professional, very competent and made suggestions that demonstrated their skill and expertise. The team were flexible when we hit any (existing property related) snags, were very adaptable and reasonable for add-ons, and work well with the couple of other trades necessary. A really good experience that has delivered a space that is probably better than we could have hoped, and to a really high standard.

We’re really glad we went with Simply for our side return extension. They managed everything and took a lot of the stress out of the process. Eddie and his team were very friendly and considerate while completing the build. The end result looks fantastic, we’re just waiting on them to do snagging but overall are extremely happy.

We are so happy with our downstairs extension. We have had builders, on previous work done, requiring more payment than agreed and threatening to leave the project unfinished so using Simply Extend provided us with the piece of mind that our project would be completed at the agreed upon price. Our builders were amazing and finished the job ahead of schedule. They were friendly and very professional. Our extension is beautiful!

I recenly had a rear extension and other work completed by Simply Extend. I am very pleased with how the project has turned out. They have created a bright, homely and spacious living/dining area. The transformation is much better that what I had envisaged and I now have this great living/dining area that I have always wanted. As I wanted a sliding door to enter this area I am very impressed with the system that has been installed and that meets all the necessary fire and buliding regulations. They have also created a wonderful patio area which I had not initially panned to undertake. There were some issues that arose along the way and these were discussed with me and worked through competently and professionally. Am really proud of the end result.

For my side return extension on a London terrace I invited a few companies that manage a building project from start to finish to do a survey and create a baseline proposal and costs. I chose Simply as they provided detailed breakdown of the work and costs, allowed me to make a few amendments and select options, gave much needed advice and creative options, and gave a competitive quote. Once the contract was signed everything ran smoothly – the customer service team were in contact informing me of progress and any actions I needed to take, they arranged for plans and planning approval and appointed the building team. The app enabled me to track and manage the stages of the project, log variations, and see when I needed to make the stage payments. I could not have been happier with the build manager, Calin. He was usually on site every day, and if not advised me on who would be on site and what work would be done. He was very informative about subjects I had no knowledge of and advised me on these topics. He and his team worked very hard and made really good progress, but without compromising the quality of the work. When there were a few issues with items I had ordered he helped in picking up replacements, and was always available via WhatsApp to answer any questions. He talked to my neighbours about impacts on them, and was always willing to go the extra mile to resolve any issues they felt they had. I would recommend Simply and their build teams to anyone who wants to make an extension project as painless as possible.

We contacted Simply Extend to do the extension on our home. Our experience with them was very good, Cem was always very helpful if we had questions or to amend the quote. Lucie was always checking in to make sure that the build was going on as smoothly as possible and that we were satisfy with the work.

We completed a side return extension in Hackney late last year and contracted Simply to do the work for us. We have ended up with a fabulous bright, warm. sunny kitchen-diner and are absolutely delighted with the result. Simply’s surveyor was very helpful and gave us a very detailed and competitive quote as well as making some helpful design suggestions. Sami and his team who were doing the construction work were fantastic. Always arrived on time and kept to a very tight schedule finishing the work much faster than we anticipated but without compromising on the standard of work. We’re very happy with the result

We chose Simply for a side return extension on our mid-terrace house in Hackney. Their surveyor was very professional and friendly and helped us design the room to our requirements.The quotation was very detailed and competitive. Planning permission and engineering design went very smoothly and the work was completed on time and on budget.
The project manager Mark visited almost every day and always answered his phone. He was full of great suggestions to improve the finished result. His team were excellent guys, friendly, honest, hard working, and very competent. The finished room is absolutely brilliant-we are so happy.
It really is worth employing Simply as they give the reassurance that the work will proceed smoothly and they have the experience to deal with any problems arising (in fact there were no problems as the project manager worked so closely with us)

After a lot of research, we decided to use Simply Extend. We are so happy with the result! Fatmir and his team were good and absolute perfectionists. We did have a few minor issues, mainly caused by a neighbour who tried to complain at everything we were doing. But the building team and Simply Extend dealt with this really well and managed to de-escalate. We are very happy with our new family space and have told all our friends about it. Thanks Simply!

This review is based on my honest experience of Simply Construction group. Please note and that this company also trades under (Simply Extend, Simply Loft, Simply Basement subsidiaries). It is a duty to share my impartial experience of the company, both good and bad.

This review has been rewritten since posting a review. We have been intimidated with the threat of legal action in writing by the company for 'breach of contract' unless I remove this review. I used this platform to inform my decision before signing the contract and now makes sense why there are only 5 stars on here. Customers are being quashed by an unfair clause and 'restricted' to share any negative experience. I'm quite astounded by the behaviour of the company after 18 months of an extremely stressful relationship. Had I noticed they wanted a non disparagement clause - would have made me question the company to begin with.

I was a genuine customer of Simply Construction (Simply Extend) and I have personally never experienced a company like this. I felt it was such poor management and customer service from them, lacking in any form of responsibility or accountability on their part. The build itself took approx 6 months, however we had prior planning and preparation issues - mostly due to Customer service manager Lorraine Arnold and their appointed architect. The sales pitch from owner and director Rob Wood was extremely impressive and felt this was the company for us. After checking online reviews (5 star...I now know why) we signed up, paid our nearly £10k deposit, this is where things deteriorated and we never saw or heard from Rob again through the process.

Simply's appointed architect (Virtue Architecture) came to the house only once, big talks from them which felt like they were promising our dream kitchen. We wanted amends to certain design plans and requested glazing to be incorporated , they said it could be changed post planning submission but this was not the case - only changes we could have would be additional costs (so no dream kitchen as we anticipated). I've no architect experience but knew that the steel beam drawings and engineer work was not right. There was an entire large chimney breast on the 1st floor left unchecked and unsupported. A second set of drawings was made only to be realised by our builder on site that these were still wrong. 3rd time lucky, we had a surveyor friend who double checked over the drawings and made the necessary changes and checks. Extra £££ to the budget for missed beams and potential near miss of failed structural integrity to the house. 

This company appoints 3rd party builders and subcontracts (although under contract of Simply). They push all responsibility to the 3rd party (again not the safety net that we were told they offered). From my experience and months of being ignored by customer service when I consistently reached out for guidance or help managing something through and when I did, my impression was that of passive aggressive language by the customer service manager. The only positive I will say is that the 3rd party builder they appointed had common sense, experience and regular communication with us. 

Post all these issues, we then chased for 14 months for building control sign off. Months and months of Simply ignoring us, or the occasional 'we'll look into this'. Finally being told after all that time 'it's not our responsibility'...this sums up the entire project process. We were hoping for a company with good service, management and experience with structural integrity - this unfortunately was not in our case with Simply Extend.

UPDATE 18 Dec 2023: This review is no longer under legal investigation - due to the fact that this company withdrew their claim of suing us. A gag clause in a contract does not hold up in court and they learnt this by losing against another customer they were suing.

UPDATE 4 Jun 2024: this company has reissued another threatening legal letter to take use to court unless we remove our review from their review sites Simply Loft. Our contract was with Simply Extend and they are all part of the Simply Construction Group so don’t make the mistake this is a different company. I have removed the review from S Loft because I can’t take anymore from the company after 18+ months of legal threats. Do your due diligence, read the fine print and take caution if considering this company. We learnt the heard way.

Simply recently completed a side return extension to our ground floor flat in Balham. The project went very smoothly through all stages, clear costings from the outset made the process much easier.
Our builder Nik and his team were great! very friendly, helpful, skilled, and always on hand to answer our questions, however annoying they may be!.
The work was completed on time and we are delighted with the finished result!

Simply recently completed a side return extension to our terraced house in Hackney. The project went very smoothly through all stages and the costing and design done by their surveyor Phill fitted our needs perfectly.
Project manager Mark and his team were great to work with. His team are great people; friendly, helpful, very skilled, totally honest, and receptive to my requirements. Mark himself always answered the phone and visited the site almost every day.
The work was completed on time and on budget. It was such a relief to work with a team who got things done, and did them well.
