We love SimplyCook. We've subscribed for over a year now and we've never eaten so well. Vegetarian meals at restaurants are very very rarely as good as what we cook ourselves with these magic pots.... See more

The website is very confusing. There is no way to simply log into your account to see what you have ordered, when it will arrive and when you will be charged all in one place. Everything is all over, and I still cannot find exactly what I want to see. There is a place for 'my recipes' and it does not match I have ordered. I am pescatarian but can only select either vegetarian or meat, and a lot of the fish dishes have meat based spices so I cannot use. So have to select vegetarian in fear of them sending a meat spice one day. I had a prawn linguine, the spice pot made it horribly salty and I couldn't finish the food. I can't leave a review as the wrong recipes are in the 'my recipes' section. Tbf not all the food is that bad, but I've definitely noticed the salt and the lack of freshness and preserved taste in a few recipes. The pots are difficult to open, the writing is hard to read. I am happy to pay more for convenience but it's just been more frustrating and too much faff, so I've cancelled.

I subscribed expecting a meal kit service based on how the product is presented – images of full meals, fresh ingredients, and what appears to be a complete cooking box.
What I actually received were small pots of concentrated flavourings/spice mixes, with none of the core ingredients included. You still need to go out and buy all the fresh components yourself (meat, vegetables, carbs, etc.), which defeats the purpose if you are looking for convenience.
This is not a meal delivery or meal kit service, despite how it is visually marketed. It is essentially a subscription for flavour pots and recipe suggestions.
In addition, the subscription model is not made sufficiently prominent upfront. Charges continue automatically unless you actively cancel, which may catch people off guard.
To be clear, the concept itself may suit people who already cook regularly and just want new flavours. However, if you are expecting convenience, time-saving, or reduced shopping, this service does not deliver that.
Overall, the issue is not the product itself, but the mismatch between expectation and reality created by the presentation.

My first meal was the chili con carne which, in the recipe, is described as medium. My wife cannot tolerate hot (as in spicy) food so I didn't add any of the third pot, the cocoa chili, thinking she would be able to eat the dish. It was too hot for her! I like hot food and, as my wife wouldn't be eating it, I added half of the cocoa chili pot. When I ate it, it was just on this side of being too hot, even for me. So be careful. I know it's objective..... despite all of this it was nice and, if I were single, I'd get it again.

I order the offered free samples but unfortunately when the box arrived it had been opened in transit and three of the free samples were lost, however, when I contacted the customer service team they very quickly arranged for a new box to be sent. Thank you for your speedy and positive response.

The meal kits are so varied, and many of them freeze well, so as solo household they've been my go-to kit subscription for years now. Gives the opportunity to try different cuisines when suits you.
Additionally their customer service is great. Recently had my first issue with a stock pot that had broken and leaked during shipping - their customer service team replied within a couple of days and have shipped me a replacement box. Can't fault that.

Love this idea having all those small ingredients in one pot. Good recipes and easy to do almost turns me into a professional cook

Delivered as fast as an arrow, the box of spices and seasonings sent by Simply cook made me travel and dream. Italy, that I love and know became real thanks to the blend of the three magical pots. I enjoy just as much the flavours of Thailand and Indonesia. And it's incredible that in such small proportion you can deliver so much flavours. I am vegetarian and not very rich, so those little pots were like godsend when I made a rice with onions and mangetout, or whichever seasonal vegetables. To become a wizard in the kitchen, I highly recommend the beautifully complex SIMPLICITY of Simply cook.

Was totally unaware l had signed up for monthly subscription of £11.98 when l ordered the trial box for £1.98 postage. Please be careful as l never noticed anything to suggest I signed up. Hate it when companies do this.😕

I ordered some meals on the £1.99 postage deal. I was disappointed when all I received was pots of flavours. I was expecting the fresh food as well. (Maybe I didn’t read the small print). Thanks anyway.

The Simply Cook flavour pots are a great option for using as and when needed. I tried Hello Fresh for a year but was restricted by the expiry dates on the fresh food. So Simply Cook offers the flavours and recipes but I can then buy the fresh ingredients as I want them. I would love to see more beef recipes with Simply Cook and a selection of flavours that are less spicy, but I have enjoyed most of the recipes so far. The Makhani curry is fab!

I love simply cook, great flavours and handy to add to any meal, not just the receipes in the box. Only down side is they take every 4 weeks, they hv no ability, despite repeated requests, to take the dd on a set day, screws up my finances.

They responded very quickly to my problem and solved the next day . Was very happy with the outcome

The Team respond promptly to request for assistance. Although, over several rears, I have only had to go to them about three times!!
The Recipes are very easy to follow and the ingredients needed are normal common place items available in most areas of the UK.
All Recipes are delicious alhough we find, as "oldies" that the quantities of rice are often more that we need. However, as thrifty "oldies" we keep the surplus for the next time we need rice........
Happy Eating.
