While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Great service with great customer support. Very fast as well!

I have never had a bad experience with this swap service. It has by far the most swaps available. I never use any other service unless the wallet I’m using performs the swap natively.

Swaps take too long and they dont give you the amount the quote prior to the swap. BEWARE!

I'm not very good with computer or crypto and simple swap has made my life so much better! The conversion rates are great and it's really easy to use. I wish all online interactions were like this service. Jem

Simpleswap seized funds (180k).
Simpleswap was recommended as a 3rd party to perform a swap while using my non custodial wallet. The first two were processed without any issues which were 70k and 90k in USD.
The last transaction was not processed and I was asked to perform KYC. Surprisingly but I submitted and passed the KYC regardles, my funds were not released. I sent over 20 emails and their response from the support team lacked any meaningful update.
After a week I consulted Synthetichash.com, they did a free risk assessment check on my wallet and contacted the exchanger support team to provide their report. After a few days, I was contacted by Simpleswap that my swap was going to be refunded.
I was successfully sent back the value as at when I sent it, I lost some money but I'm even glad to get my money back.

1 BTC frozen under endless “KYC review” – no swap, no refund
Our ministry used SimpleSwap to exchange 1 BTC into ZEC.
Order/transaction ID: 1d5huztets416x7u.
The BTC was successfully sent to the deposit address provided by SimpleSwap and confirmed on-chain. Only after they had received the funds did their site flag the transaction as “suspicious” and block the swap, citing “European AML/KYC directives” and an “automated risk prevention system.”
To “resolve” this, they required an extensive KYC process. I cooperated in full and, at their request, submitted:
Driver’s License – present legal name
Driver’s License – former legal name
Ministry formation documents
(3) wire transfer receipts from our ministry to Caleb & Brown via Wells Fargo (source of funds)
(3) receipts for transfers from Caleb & Brown back to our ministry
Despite providing all of this multiple times, SimpleSwap has:
Not completed the swap, and
Not returned the original 1 BTC to any address I control.
Support keeps repeating that the transaction is “under review” for AML/KYC, but they do not provide a clear legal basis, a timeframe, or a concrete path to resolution. In practice, they now hold both our crypto and a full KYC pack on me and our ministry, with no outcome.
Separately, the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published a warning about “Simple Swap / simpleswap.io” as an unauthorised firm that may be offering financial services in the UK without permission. Anyone can verify this directly on the FCA’s website. WHOA!??? STOP RIGHT HERE!!!! (And you are being asked to PROVE TO THEM who YOU are?!!!)
Based on my experience and the public information available, I would strongly caution anyone considering SimpleSwap. In my view, once they have your funds and your documents, you risk being stuck in an indefinite “KYC review” with no swap and no refund.
Before you send them anything, ask yourself:
– Am I prepared for my transaction to be frozen after they receive my coins?
– Am I comfortable handing over my most private identification documents to a company that may never complete the swap or send a refund?
If you believe you’ve been treated similarly, you can explore legal options. There are reputable blockchain-tracing and legal teams that can track where your crypto went and help you involve law enforcement in the relevant jurisdiction.
This review reflects my personal experience and opinions and is accurate to the best of my knowledge.

SCAM behavior — funds held for over a month despite full KYC
This service is acting like a scam.
They have been holding my funds for over a month with no resolution. I completed full KYC, passed all AML checks, and provided every possible document:
• invoices
• contracts
• statements
• photos
• videos
• proof of funds
Despite this, they keep sending the same copy-paste template replies:
“Your case is under review,”
“Please wait,”
and now
“Wait another 14 business days.”
They repeat this endlessly while refusing to give any concrete information, timelines, or explanation for why my funds are being blocked. This is not a real AML process — this is stalling and holding customer funds without any transparency.
Do NOT use this exchanger for large transactions.
They ignore emails, they do not communicate, and they clearly have no intention of resolving anything.
This platform behaves like a scam and should be avoided.

Silas was excellent in the customer service dept. I thought I lost my coins, and he helped retrieve them for me!
