I was really impressed by the exceptional customer service. The attendants were professional and had clear communication which made the car hire process seamless.

The team at Simba are amazing, I use their cars every fortnight and from the start they were amazing, bus drivers so friendly and good at conversation, then the reception staff very knowledgeable (don’t be silly and skip insurance, they are telling you based off experience to get it, they don’t get paid to sell insurance they don’t want the headache of damages that aren’t covered) the cars are always serviced well and clean! See you next fortnight guys

I had a wonderful experience with Simba. The service was super fast, and the staff were incredibly friendly both when picking up the car and when returning it. They gave me a new, comfortable car, and I didn’t have any issues at all. The value for money is very good, and the overall experience was excellent. I loved it and I would definitely recommend them.

Couldn't fault the price or the cars. Quick and easy shuttle bus to and from the airport and friendly staff. Just took forever with check in process and not enough staff on and when we returned the car again not enough staff and no one dedicated to taking car returns and so we had to wait ages while two other groups checked in just to hand back keys. Allow extra time both ways for this delay. Otherwise no complaints.

The process is so streamlined.
Pick up from Cairns airport via the shuttle bus involved a 4 minute wait.
Car was ready when we got to the collection point.
Whole return process was very simple.
Under 10 minutes from arriving to back on the shuttle.
Shuttle dropped off right at the terminal.
Could not be smoother.

Cheaper than other big names and good services. I did take my own photos of the vehicle as the staff didn’t walk me through pre-existing damage. I’m assuming all will be fine but good to keep in mind if you hire to cover yourself.

We were very happy to receive such a smart hybrid car.
This saved us a lot of money as it used only about half of what we would have used if we had been given a solely petrol driven car.
Simba’s daily hire rate was cheaper than the other hire car companies and so we would definitely use them again TM

Car and price were fine. The issue is how they handle third-party liability cover.
Simba's basic included cover does not extend to damage to third-party property, another person's vehicle, a building, etc. Only their optional $49/day Premium Cover covers that; without it, you're personally liable for the full amount, uncapped, if you're at fault in an incident involving someone else's property.
When I questioned this at the counter, staff told me Avis and Hertz work "no differently." That's not accurate, I have hired many cars in Australia and never experienced this. In fact Hertz's own published terms confirm their standard included cover extends to both the rental vehicle and third-party property, with the excess as your capped contribution, not full personal liability.
To be fair, the exclusion is written into the rental agreement, it's just easy to miss, buried among 24 sections of terms you e-sign digitally, while the pricing you actually see up front highlights the excess amount without flagging this carve-out.
If you rent from Simba, be aware that unless you take their $49 per day excess reduction third-party property damage is not covered with your rental, don't rely on a verbal comparison to other rental companies, and don't assume the excess amount shown covers everything it sounds like it covers.

Helpful and friendly staff. The third party booking was a bit confusing.

The service I received from the team before hand was amazing. From the phone calls to the initial booking of the vehicle and advice from the agent on which vehicle to choose was great as well. The vehicle was in really good condition and smelt great as well. We just hoped that we could have got a bigger vehicle though but was not available at the time. The shuttle service was an absolute life saver. Thank you so much for a great purchase. Will only look at you for car hire in the future. Oh and the price was very reasonable.
