silk painting weekend

I had the best weekend ever on a silk painting course in a beautiful garden studio based in Battle, Sussex. During the weekend silk artist Stephen Mason taught me many interesting techniques on how to paint on different types of silk. He also demonstrated how different mediums such as wax and salt react with the dyes to create different effects. Over the 2 day course I experimented with the different techniques and then created my own beautiful scarf.
Stephen was very helpful with his guidance and also provided a wonderful lunch.
The course was very reasonably priced and all the materials were provided.It’s a lovely experience to do if you want a creative weekend. I really enjoyed learning how to silk painting and shall be back!!
The town of Battle is well worth a visit too with its independent shops and the historic Abbey to explore.
