Avoid, worst web builder

One of the worst most unintuitive, buggy web builder out there. Avoid at all costs. Website editor is constantly breaking, it's weirdly set up in the most random/ unintuitive way.

Horrid navigation when you have a customer service issue. I had taken my website online because I was working on upgrading it they disabled the website and wanted me to pay the subscription even though the website was not life, other platforms don’t do this I was essentially locked out and could not even access my website or account. I definitely don’t recommend showit!

dissapointed

This is a complete disaster. For the past 8 hours I’ve been trying to contact the payments/billing team because I can’t pay for my subscription - and in the meantime you disabled my subscription.
There’s no clear way to resolve this quickly, no responsive support, and I’m stuck without access even though I’m actively trying to pay.

I've been using Showit for several…

I've been using Showit for several years now, and I've built several websites for myself and my clients. I absolutely love Showit. I've grown so much as a web designer thanks to this platform. Their tutorials are fantastic, even for complete beginners, and their customer support is incredible, they always respond quickly (even to my silly questions!). I've also learned a lot about what great customer support looks like from their super-friendly team.

However, I'm giving it four stars because even with the top-tier plan, many WordPress plugins are incompatible with Showit. It's also nearly impossible to integrate WooCommerce without extensive CSS coding. We often have to rely on paid, third-party services. Furthermore, it's complicated to explain to clients that Showit is for the design and hosting, but that you also need WordPress for the blog. Clients get lost in the explanation.

This amazing tool would be perfect if it had its own native solutions for e-commerce, blogging, and online courses, much like its competitor, Squarespace.

Showit is quite hard to use if you're…

Showit looked so cool at first and that you're able to have a different design for mobile view than desktop view drew me in. However, Showit is quite hard to use if you're not a web designer and know what you're doing. The support is not very supportive, taking hours to reply, creating more issues, not answering your questions and then closing your inquiry, even though your problem is not solved but instead they have added another one. I've been trying to modify a template I bought from Showit for over 4 months now and I feel like I'm getting nowhere. I had used Wix before, which is incredibly easy to use and consider going back as my Showit design is impossible to modify on my own and not having a functional website is hurting my business big time.

Mixed Feelings About Showit – Some Potential, But Frustrating Trial Experience

I was excited to try Showit, but my experience was mixed. The platform has potential, but there are some frustrating design quirks and support issues that made the trial difficult. Firstly the free templates look great but the paid templates are overpriced! I found a pixieset template for $2,000 which is just crazy.

One major issue is that locked features are hidden rather than grayed out. This makes it unclear what tools are available with a subscription, leaving me wondering whether I was missing features or just not looking in the right place. A simple UI change could make this so much easier.

I also ran into alignment issues—text placed perfectly in the editor would shift unpredictably in live view. That’s a big deal for a design-focused platform and made me question how reliable the site-building experience would be long-term.

Support was unhelpful and they probably just started ignoring me once I sent in a convo rating they didn't like. While I recognize I asked long, multi-part questions, the responses I got didn’t fully address everything. Kevan also opened by telling me he had just returned from lunch, which felt unnecessary when I was waiting on help and he redirected me to the learning materials. Some of my key concerns were ignored, and I had to piece together answers myself.

Here are all the questions I asked:
1. Is there a way to turn photos black and white? Or is that something I unlock with a subscription?
2. Are there features I’m not seeing due to no subscription?
3. If so, maybe pass it on that it would be better if they showed the options grayed out so we know what is and isn’t doable?
4. I could take the photos back into Lightroom, but doing it on the site would save so much time—haha. (More of a statement, but it reinforces your first question.)
5. I’m most likely going to subscribe, and I’ll have further questions about using “Bloom” to add a live chat feature and other lead capturing options. Do those offer video tutorials? Or will I HAVE to plug it into AI and have it read-sing it like Taylor Swift? (A little humor here, but the core question is about video tutorials for Bloom.)
6. OH, and my logo I added… Is there a way to sync that to every page, or do I need to keep adjusting its size/location coordinates for each page?

Kevan only directly answered two of these questions:
• He said there’s no built-in way to turn photos black and white and that editing should be done externally.
• He mentioned that live chat (Bloom) would require adding a code in the Advanced Settings tab.

The rest were either ignored or brushed off with a general reference to tutorials.

Another disappointment was the lack of basic image editing features—something as simple as turning photos black and white isn’t possible within Showit. That means extra steps in external software when a built-in tool would have been much more convenient.

Overall, Showit could be great, but the combination of hidden features, minor bugs, and lackluster support made my trial more frustrating than it should have been. With some improvements, I’d consider trying again, but for now, I can’t fully recommend it.

I paid $2000 for a website template…

I paid $2000 for a website template that I fell in love with, the caveat is that the template only works with Showit. The value prop of this company is that it allows you complete creative freedom without the restrictions of other shops like Wix.

The the user interface is hard to learn...and this would be fine EXCEPT...they have the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They are closed on the weekends and often don't respond for days at a time. When they do respond, they often provide copy/pasted responses without reading your actual question, which is extra annoying because it takes so long to get a response.

I was planning a launch for Monday, built my whole marketing plan around it but they went 3 full business days with no response and you need them to manually add your new domain. I finally emailed the emergency line and he told me that my issue was not an emergency. I could see that he was online responding to other tickets, and yet he refused to respond to mine.

I had to hault my launch and wait five days for them to complete one simple task.

The frustrating thing about this is that by the time you realize how badly they suck, you will have wasted thousands of dollars on a template and so many hours building your site that you won't be able to cancel without significant loss.
