Shopback made misleading marketing on cashback rate
Shopback.sg is the parent company of Shopback.com. Shopback.com in USA made a mistake with the cashback rate on the category of stamp purchases from ebay.com. According to T&C, stamp category cashback is always 1%, but the cashback rate I received is 0.8%. There is 20% difference from the promised cashback to the cashback I got. Please see the attached screenshots. I went through my emails and confirmed all past cashbacks were incorrect, except for only a few times for the promotion rate 5%. Since all my cashbacks were eBay stamp category and currently confirmed cashback is $81.9 (only purchases in 2025 were confirmed and this does not include the tracked $22.5 cashback in the first 3 months of 2026), which means $26.4 (20% of the total earned cashback, $21.9+$4.5) should be added to my account.
I contacted the CS agent, and they acknowledged that this is shopback’s fault. After I spent hours sorting all the order confirmations, which show the item details, purchase price, order number, and date of purchase, as this is required by the CS agent. There are hundreds invoices and I attached 30 screenshots in the email I sent to CS agent as this is the limit of screenshots I can attached in the email. But finally, the CS agent only sent $6.69 back to my account, which still owns me $20. This is a false advertising/misleading marketing that shopback.com is totally responsible for, but the CS agent is reluctant to address this issue. From the time I wrote this complaint, the shopback.com still label the cashback rate for ebay stamp category as 1%, which actually only sent 0.8% to me.
