Cashback Not Tracked, False Advertisement

Extremely disappointed, have encountered multiple issues where cashback is not tracked even though I followed their instructions to the tee. Misleading cashback advertised as well, there are many T&Cs that are not transparently shown to users. Customer service either ghost or takes a really long time to reply to simple queries. Absolutely lost my faith in this company, and will not be using them every again. Use at your own risk.

Unethical shopback company with very lousy unresponsive CS

I have been with shopback for more than 3 years. At first all seems working well. Then they started to keep rebates from me for Shopee purchases. Last year i purchased 2 fridges for total of SGD2,000+ and none can be claimed. I have $2.22 left as balance in my account but they insisted that their rules started must be minimum of SGD10 for withdrawal. I told them that i wanted to close my account. By MAS rules they have to return this money to me upon account closure. Their customer services then delay for more than 10 days to give me a satisfactory answer to this when i reply with MAS rulings regards paying account balances

Their rules also stated that if i closed my account without withdrawing balance that balance cant be retrieved (meaning is inside their acct just that they used own makeup rules to refuse a withdrawal thats below SGD10)

I just realised their ratings is only average of 2 stars i can relate why. They kept the referral commission and refused to give us back the referral fees for 99.99% of shopee purchases when they do support shopee (sure they do, they support it and if we login to their site while shopping in shopee they get the referral commission while stating that certain items cant be refunded).

Perfect business model for them that make use of us and make money out of us, yet refused to allow withdrawal despite that I wanted to close my account.

Anyone interested in MAS rulings on what organisations have to do in case of account closures and paying balances can google it

Shopback made misleading marketing on cashback rate

Shopback.sg is the parent company of Shopback.com. Shopback.com in USA made a mistake with the cashback rate on the category of stamp purchases from ebay.com. According to T&C, stamp category cashback is always 1%, but the cashback rate I received is 0.8%. There is 20% difference from the promised cashback to the cashback I got. Please see the attached screenshots. I went through my emails and confirmed all past cashbacks were incorrect, except for only a few times for the promotion rate 5%. Since all my cashbacks were eBay stamp category and currently confirmed cashback is $81.9 (only purchases in 2025 were confirmed and this does not include the tracked $22.5 cashback in the first 3 months of 2026), which means $26.4 (20% of the total earned cashback, $21.9+$4.5) should be added to my account.

I contacted the CS agent, and they acknowledged that this is shopback’s fault. After I spent hours sorting all the order confirmations, which show the item details, purchase price, order number, and date of purchase, as this is required by the CS agent. There are hundreds invoices and I attached 30 screenshots in the email I sent to CS agent as this is the limit of screenshots I can attached in the email. But finally, the CS agent only sent $6.69 back to my account, which still owns me $20. This is a false advertising/misleading marketing that shopback.com is totally responsible for, but the CS agent is reluctant to address this issue. From the time I wrote this complaint, the shopback.com still label the cashback rate for ebay stamp category as 1%, which actually only sent 0.8% to me.

Disappointed: Account blocked right after transaction. Need urgent resolution.

"I am extremely disappointed with ShopBack's recent action. I made a legitimate hotel booking through Booking.com using ShopBack. However, immediately after the transaction, my account was blocked without any prior notice or clear explanation.
This feels very unfair as I have followed all the terms and conditions.
Blocking an account right when a cashback is due creates a very poor user experience and raises questions about transparency.

Cashback tracking is unreliable

Cashback tracking is unreliable. I made my shopee purchase correctly through ShopBack, but it was not tracked at all.

This is extremely disappointing and makes the app feel more like a promotional tool to attract downloads rather than a dependable cashback platform. It seems the user will gain less on cashback.

ShopBack is getting very lousy

ShopBack is getting very lousy. It used to be so simple to use and easy to connect to customer service. Starting some time last year, I notice a decline in their service, and several of my purchases were not tracked!!! Which is totally not true!!! Their reliability is getting really bad and I’m starting to dislike using it. Their chatbot is also poorly communicated. So frustrating to talk to the bot. Their staff is also not properly trained and it take ages for them to respond. Their tracked cashback is also misleading as lately my tracked cashback was rejected. Very very poor in their reliability. I’m almost done using this app once I gotten my cashback. Also, their cashback is no longer cashback. When u enter via shopback, the apps mark up the prices. It’s not reliable and trustworthy anymore.

Bad Service Recovery

Please be careful in buying their voucher as I have purchased 1 and it has been in pending for 6 days and totally regret it.

They have no service recovery as they have only an automated chat bot. You will not be able to find a solution from bot and they are replying very slowly and not understanding what you want!

Shopback sells online vouchers for…

Shopback sells online vouchers for Lazada, Shopee etc. when seller did not fulfill orders, vouchers are not refunded or reusable. Such are the Cheating Scammers of Cashback, Shopback etc companies. Never buy vouchers from these crooked companies.

Watch out for Failed Payments via App

I tried to pay for my purchase via Shopback at a store in Singapore (centrepoint). Twice the app indicated that the payment failed. I then proceeded to pay via cash. I was shocked later to receive an email indicating that I had been charged for the payment. I sought help from Shopback and they said I need to contact the merchant. So it became my problem again. What help is that?

Missing cashback

ShopBack’s cashback tracking is no longer seamless as before. I had to report of missing cashback on a few occasions lately. It seems the upsized cashback often go missing.
Shopback, please streamline your processes and save us all the headaches.

Unreliable ShopBack cashback recently

ShopBack had been working alright until recently when I made 2 purchases on iherb which did not accrue upsized ShopBack cashback despite following all their rules and regulations on successfully getting cashback. You cannot pursue it with them once the decision has been made as, apparently, it is the merchant who decides and they are unable to pursue the matter further with the merchant. To their credit, there was some customer service recovery done for the first missing cashback case that I raised, but I won't be bothering for the second case. So my advice is, use another platform if you find it better, or if you use ShopBack, just be aware that you might not get cashback on all your purchases. Don't make your purchasing decisions based on their advertised upsized cashback and treat any cashback given out like a bonus.
