Have visited Barnados on Bradfield road Sheffield several times since it got a new manager and I have to say wow what a difference,,there's now a fantastic range of stock and bargains to be had at mostly reasonable prices, and the manager and staff are very friendly
I ordered 8 items from their online shop as was emailed a tracking number. When the parcel arrived only 4 items were present. A phone call revealed the order had been split into two parcels and I was given a second tracking number. Why couldn't they provide the two tracking numbers in the email? I am still waiting for the second parcel to be delivered. A disappointing experience.
Just been to my local Barnados shop to peruse available items and all I can say is WOW! I thought I had entered the wrong store.
All the staff that I have come to know over many years have literally disappeared AND the prices for even downtrodden shoes have doubled in price!
I had to take a deep breath, exhale and continue to view items. T-shirts that used to be £1.00 now £3.00, shoes that used to be £2.50 now £5.00. Dresses between £5.00 and £10.00. I thought they must be
designer labels but no - they just had original labels and large stickers saying; 'NEW'.
I could pop down to Marks and Sparks clearance stores and pay less. Even Vinted is cheaper.
All I can say is; 'what a shame'. I like to support local charities but doubt that I will returning any time soon... sorry.
I bought a footstool from Barnado's online catalogue. It's pretty, but it broke almost immediately. Very poor workmanship and materials. I am not sending it back because it is still usable and my limited mobility makes it hard for me to return stuff. Disappointing, though.
