I can't overstate enough the necessary advice, design and options I was given throughout our building project, from the initial consultation to the final touches.
Made what I thought was a convoluted process straight forward, with clear communication and guidance (which I needed) especially being cost-conscious towards the end of the build.
what an outstanding company
what an outstanding company, I had great service throughout my whole build!
The project management is absolutely flawless.
Would highly recommend!

My experience was amazing working with such an experienced team everything flowed like clockwork communication was on point couldn’t be happier
Unethical, unprofessional & manipulative
From the moment the project commenced, we soon confronted the reality of a deeply toxic workplace & floored model.
The Shapehouse contract locks you into a vulnerable cadence where you must pay a week in advance for the work (initially upon reading seemed fine), however If you query any of the changes to costs or ask for any detail breakdowns / calculations they threaten to cease work all together. My wife was pregnant when we started and they used this as leveraged to force us into several pressure payments throughout the build (The companies General Manager who manages the billing weekly was the main exponent of this).
All references on their Shapehouse website are contractually obliged, they offer an incentive to customers who will receive a rebate on completion of their review along with an NDA of anything negative. Preying on cash poor individuals after being exploited, creating a complete Facade.
Our ‘project lead’ refused to use a project plan to manage logistics, timelines & expectations. Preferring to use his ‘handwritten notebook’. Key deadlines were repeatedly missed, most notably when we attempted to move back in - no plumbing had been completed so we had no toilet or running water. Leading us to seek emergency accommodation.
They leverage the cheapest & poorest quality labour available to maximise their margins. They sent some truly awful individuals into our house, the epitome was when our plumber addressed my 8-months pregnant wife saying ‘Shapehouse do not care about you, stop asking questions - I will not work for free and they aren’t going to pay me more for the work that needs doing’.
After assuring us of an initial two week timeline, we had no windows or doors in place for 12-weeks. Which meant for 4-weeks we had a newborn at home with no real security. When we attempted to ask the labourers to install a basic lock on internal door, they sent us a bill for £50 (it didn’t even work).
I could honestly go on & on throughout our terrible 8-months with them. I know all renovations are tough. But I cannot emphasise enough, do not use these people. They are the very worst of the worst, in an awful manipulative and predatory way. It has been cathartic and disturbing to see the wider reviews that align with our experience but makes me desperate to say - stay away from Shapehouse.
Avoid
Avoid. We've spent thousands having to fix dangerous electrical and plumbing work done on behalf of shapehouse, as well as outstanding work that was never finished, months past our completion date.
They don't have any of their own workmen as stated by their fancy website or social media posts, all sub-contracted out to the cheapest bidder. A lot of work just done as quickly as possible with little or no thought to finish or quality.
There's a reason why they took down their google profile because of all the bad reviews, as well as all the fake ones which initially convinced us they were genuine. As other reviews state, check companies house.
