Zero Stars if I could - Beware the 20% cancellation deduction
I cancelled my order before anything was dispatched. No goods were sent, nothing had to be returned, yet this company attempted to retain 20% of my money.
I challenged them, cited my statutory cancellation rights and asked them to justify the deduction. Only then did they process my full refund.
Frankly, I regard the original attempt to withhold 20% as blatantly dishonest. Given the nature of the products sold on this site, I am also left wondering how many customers simply accept deductions like this because they are too embarrassed to make a fuss.
Well, I wasn't.
The fact that they refunded me after being challenged does not erase what happened beforehand. Customers should not have to argue, quote consumer legislation and threaten escalation to recover money from an order that hadn't even been dispatched.
I won't be purchasing from this company again.
If you're considering ordering: know your consumer rights, and if you're presented with a cancellation deduction, don't be embarrassed into simply accepting it.
