Excellent Customer Service Team
I have held several fixed rate bonds with Secure Trust Bank over a number of years for no reason other than they were offering the best rates. Everything worked smoothly via the internet and so I had no reason to contact them until last week when I made a mistake while attempting to reinvest a maturing bond.
I sent a secure message via the website on the weekend and got a call back on Monday morning. I dealt with two members of staff, both of whom were knowledgable, polite and helpful, and between them they resolved the problem for me very quickly.
I felt like I had received excellent customer service, which is so rare these days, and which certainly deserves a mention here.

They don't know how to treat potential customers properly
I applied to open a Savings Account. They asked me to obtain original bank statements from my bank so that they could verify my income. I explained that (a) I elected not to have paper statements many years ago and (b) my income is irrelevant as I do not want to borrow from them and I am only a potential imvestor.
I asked to speak to the CEO but obviously my request was not granted. I wouldn't invest in this bank under any circumstances now!

Great customer experience
Great customer service with Secure Trust from start to finish. I didn’t wait long for my phone call to be answered. My operator was knowledgeable and extremely helpful - even offered to wait on the phone while I worked through an online process. Very patient! My request was sorted out quickly and completely. Opening and funding a new account
I already held a savings account with Secure Trust and wanted to open another one with them at a better rate of interest. As an existing customer I was able to do this with a few clicks and then transfer funds from the old account to the new with the interest computed and the old account automatically closed. Brilliant!

Absolute shambles trying to obtain…
Absolute shambles trying to obtain information about reinvesting a maturing bond. No manager there (apparently) to help with an urgent issue which they unhelpfully decided to resolve by sending a letter.
They could not make obtaining a partial withdrawal from a maturing bond more difficult if they tried.
Extremely frustrating.

I Had a problem with another bank…
Had a problem with another bank transferring an ISA to Secure Trust quite a lot of money involved (my ISA life savings) Kadeer at customer support was fantastic, calm, polite, reassuring and he reacted in a way that one always dreams a customer advisor would, checked everything through with the ISA team and kept me informed at all stages. As an elderly retired person I usually find modern online banking a necessary but very stressful experience, since opening an account with Secure Trust Bank I have been delighted with the ease of using my account and the wonderful customer experience, this is banking as it should be.
