Seagate rescue+ fake

The topic follows.
we own US.
I bought 1 14TB Seagate Ironwolf drive for trial purposes, then I bought two 18TB drives from the same company.
QNAP system, etc., as well as photos and videos installed on a 14TB disk. After some time, the server did not start. QNAP service restored everything but they wrote to me that the disk is empty and the rest have data.
Guarantee and recovery - every week I have to confirm my application details, you know, name and surname, e-mail, application number and they write that they will help me, they note that the application has been accepted, we are waiting... two months pass and nothing. I have to confirm the data and that they will help and they write that it's their policy... probably my server was attacked and I didn't have access to the server... but it doesn't matter anymore. In all this, rescue+ doesn't work. Regards, Seagate supportchat xD

what has happened to Seagate Drives they were reliable and good price
we have had 5 external drives fail in the last year
they are all powered via UPS no no power surges

I have owned Seagate products for many…

I have owned Seagate products for many years.... I have a Free Agent, somewhat low storage compared to what is available now....I purchased this in 2007 and it works GREAT.... I also have a portable Seagate 1TB HD, 2012 purchase that I take with me on vacation to download photos and that works GREAT.... NOW this past July I purchased a NEW hp Desktop computer.. My Seagate will not work with this so I was told to buy a WD easystore portable HD. So I did and had Best Buy Transfer ALL my stored information to that new WD hard drive..... SO I THOUGHT.... They said they couldn't do it because it would do damage to their system.... They told me that I would have to connect it to my OLD computer and then do a few things on my new computer to use it...... Well it has been 6 months and I haven't even given it a try.... I will SOMEDAY because I want to have my 21K photos backed up and so many documents... The ONLY reason I purchased a WD was because Seagate did not do a software update to be able to use my Seagate HD on my computer... BUT if they did I would download that update and NEVER USE THAT WD I bought that is still sitting in the box where Best Buy put it..... I really like the Seagate product lines.... no problems... except for not being able to get an update to use on my new computer......

Bad Quality on their products.

I bought an external HDD of 4 TB, two years ago, and before that, I bought another external HDD from WD that has like 4 years, and guess which one had a failure?...exactly: Seagate. This is the 2nd external HDD that fails in a couple of years...it looks like they want to have the people buying their products very often that they don't make their products to last for at least 7 years. I feel like their products are just disposable, they don't want to manufacture them to last long.

My advice: stay away from Seagate, they're the WORST!

The 1-month Adobe Cloud membership on Lacie HDs

Topic - the 1-month Adobe membership on Lacie HDs

Slow and poor costumer service, they had no point on the communication and on solving problems, really bad service, I do not understand why Adobe and Lacie use this platform. I spent 2.30h in chat, wasting a lot of time and energy.

Horrid Experience - Stay AWAY!

Horrid
Terrible
Zero customer service
Inconsiderate
Placed order for (2) d2 Professional 10TB-STHA10000800 hard drives and charge was placed on my card. Waited for (2) weeks and never received a shipping notice and order still showed processing. Had to call Seagate and go through extensive prompts and various people just to get status. Only to find out SEAGATE canceled my order and not so much as contacted me or let me know it was canceled and online order status still showed processing.
Seagate had no idea why it got canceled nor gave me any explanation.....all after waiting for 2-weeks on drives I needed ASAP! Customer service was rude and not only gave no explanation, they could not tell me the status of refunding my credit card.
What a joke company........I would expected top notch service from a company like Seagate.......I will NEVER order from them again, ever!
Zero excuse for such business practices and not one apology or reason why I was not contacted
Your company should be ashamed of themselves!

Last time i will ever buy from Seagate

Last time i will ever buy from Seagate, hard drive quality is totally awful, even the replacement drive they provided which they claim is brand new, break within a year and than they want to send a refurbish unit for me.

Can you just imagine if brand new unit break in less than a year, how long can refurbish unit last, never ever will buy from seagate.

Excellent service!

I had a pink 2 TB external hard drive that stopped working while under warranty. It also included data recovery services. I contacted them for help via chat and received excellent customer service to set up my claim. I sent in my hard drive with the label sent to me via UPS and they immediately sent me a replacement 2TB hard drive in black. No biggie on the color. I was told 30 days for data recovery to be completed. 30 days came and no update on my case. I chatted again and I was advised it's 30 business days. Again, with the holidays, no big deal. They ended up finishing the recovery by business day 25 or so and shipped me another hard drive with all of my data recovered. The hard drive I received with my recovered data has a larger capacity than my original one and is also black. Overall, I am extremely happy with the warranty program, services provided, and customer service. Chatting was very easy and they communicated well!

Would Not Buy Again

I have a game drive for my PlayStation that is not working. Talked with support and they tried to help me troubleshoot it but nothing worked and they pretty much said there was nothing else they could do for me and that we have tried everything. So the product never worked for me at all. Was my first time using a Seagate product and will be my last.

Worst Customer Service! Basically Theft!

Item was delivered to me, but parcel has gone missing, contacted customer service, they told me that its MY responsbility to submit a claim. So i try and submit a claim, Which was only possible by the account holder. Now they have opened a case, where they have to do an investigation, and telling me its still my responsbility and they have limited responsibility. Which is clearly insanity, surely where there are restrictions on who can claim with a courier, this is entirely on them. I literally cannot believe this situation, the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time!

Now I dont have an item and they have my money and im just at their mercy for X period of time before they decide what to do.

Complete lack of out-of-warranty support

I had a complete SSD data loss just outside the warranty period. Unfortunately, Seagate's service partner, ATP Data Services, could not recovery the data but suggested I contact Seagate as it was a Controller firmware issue. Seagate refused to offer any help whatsoever outside the warranty period. There is no escalation process. There is no complaints process. There is no contact email. I had been a loyal Seagate ciustomer for 10 years having had 4 of their external drives, but they have destroyed this loyalty. Seagate appear to deliberately place barriers between their customers and themselves to keep their lives simple. They don't seem to understand that data security (in its widest sense) is an essential element of data storage.

Becareful this company takes money out…

Becareful this company takes money out of your account, I paid a prepaid shipping and exchange hdd which was around $14. They send me the hdd which was nice, so I exchanged with the faulty one and shipped with ups label that was shipped, according to the tracking seagate received the hdd but 3 weeks go by and they are reminding me to ship the faulty hdd, so I live chat with an agent, they said they will extend the time for me. 4 months go by and they charge me $230 us without any warning which I couldn't pay 2 bills. Now 2 weeks ago I put a claim through still waiting with no answer, very disappointed, I don't want to deal with this company anymore.

Zero stars- do not purchase from this merchant.

Zero stars. Do not recommend. Have filed a fraud claim with my bank and filed a formal complaint with the BBB. I still have no product or money. Here is what I wrote:

Complaint Details
I ordered a storage expansion card for Xbox from Seagate on 9/1/24. It was shipped on 9/3/24 via UPS. It was apparently lost in transit. I filled a loss claim with UPS on 9/15/24. I never heard anything. I contacted Seagate on 9/27/24 at which time they said they opened an investigation. They send me a stock email every couple days saying in slightly different ways that they are "working on" their investigation; the email address cannot be replied to. There is no phone number on the website to call them- you can only communicate via chat. I chatted with them on 10/5/24 and was told that I had to wait for a resolution of their investigation. I requested they either send a replacement product or refund my money and the rep flatly refused to do so (see attached screenshots). I contacted UPS by phone that same evening and was eventually was able to speak to a person. He informed me that they contacted the shipper (Seagate) back on 9/15/24 when I filed my claim but never got a reply. So there is clearly no "investigation" going on if they have not so much as contacted UPS when I filed my claim on 9/15/24 with UPS or when I contacted Seagate on 9/27/24. I filed a fraud report with my bank on 10/6/24 and included supporting documents, many of which I have attached to this complaint. I called today (10/16/24) to get an update, and the bank employee said that the claim is still in progress as they have not been successful at contacting anyone at Seagate. The company has my money, I have no product, they have been fabricating a claim of "investigating" a lost package without contacting the company that lost it, and are refusing to give me either what I purchased or a refund.

If you are considering buying from Seagate think again

If you are considering making a hard drive purchase my advice is to find another company and not purchase from Seagate because quite frankly their Customer Services are rubbish as is the Executive Office.

Following a recent issue concerning our mains power supply my hard drive was toast so I tried to contact Seagate to ask them for the Model Number of the defective drive because the label attached to the drive was confusing having so many numbers.

After a disjointed chat with this appalling company that kept dropping out I decided to send a photo of the drive label for them to identify but there was not an email address posted on the Seagate website.

The only email address that I could find was for David Mosley the CEO of the company so I sent the photo to him together with the text below no less than 3 times.

No reply or even an acknowledgement has been received so I have done as promised and posted herewith to warn potential customers what to expect if they ever need any help from Seagate.

Email address removed

Is this the level of customer service that I should expect from Seagate? KINDLY RESPOND or I will post this email on the various internet sites that provide feedback concerning companies and services to the general public.

All that I require is the model number of this hard drive as the label attached to the item is confusing. Do you want my custom or not ?

Please Respond

Dear Mr Mosley,
Unreserved apologies for contacting you with a routine Customer Service enquiry but attempts to contact your Customer Services via your website have been dismal.
All that I need to do is send a photo of the hard drive that I need to replace so that someone at Seagate can provide a Model Number, there so many numbers on the product label that I do not have a clue which if any is the model number but I do need to purchase an exact replacement.
My attempt to deal with this matter via live chat failed half way through please see the screen print of this conversation and also the photo of the product label that I need to replace.
If you would be kind enough to forward on this email to your UK Technical Department and ask them to contact me directly to my email address with this information I would be extremely grateful.
Yours sincerely,
David J Hyde. Case Number 12840755

broken hard drives …

Recently upgraded to the 4gb drive in which the circuit board failed after a couple of months. Urgently needing the files it stored we replaced the circuit board temporarily to rescue the situation (which worked) but I am now left with drive that doesn't and in breach of Seagate's ridiculous warranty. It takes a month from when they receive a drive to restore data (which is no good to anyone!!...) and they are possibly one of the most inaccessible companies I have ever encountered! serious try elsewhere ! BUT wait ...
now they say - 'In this case, due to the information provided, we have determined that a replacement is indeed necessary to resolve the problem effectively.' BUT NO Seagate won't replace it... it's the retailers problem!!! Good luck with that - Not sure I would want to sell let alone buy Seagate products.
